We are seeking four candidates, one in the North, one in the South, and two in the Central area of England, with experience of influencing a wide range of stakeholders, to join the Institute of Physics on a permanent basis.
The Role
This exciting role is integral to the IOP’s objectives of building influential relationships in England with stakeholders across society, including the physics community, business and industry, local and regional policy makers, third sector charities, community groups, education and training providers.
The successful candidates will join an expanding team that is bolstering the IOP’s influencing and engagement capability, enabling the organisation to leverage new relationships and deliver impact against its strategic aspirations. They will work across the IOP strategy, in a matrix managed structure.
The Influencing and Engagement Managers will work in a flexible and agile manner to support the successful delivery of the IOP’s strategy, Unlocking the Future, to drive the change required to achieve our ambitious aims on increasing diversity and inclusion, improving skills, unlocking capabilities and public dialogue, and improving access to high quality physics teaching. This will be achieved by raising the profile of the IOP and physics itself to diverse audiences, to engage with and influence key organisations and individuals.
Within their geographical area, specific activities will be delivered in line with the identified strategic need and desired impact. This will involve maintaining existing relationships and creating new ones to amplify the work of colleagues, members, and external partners, to drive measurable change for our strategic aims and objectives.
Employment Locations Available (Remote)
· 1 FTE to cover the North, including the North West, Yorkshire, Humber & the North East. This person will work alongside an existing Influencing and Engagement Manager in the North.
· 2 FTE to cover the Central region, which includes the East Midlands, West Midlands and East Anglia
· 1 FTE to cover the South which includes London, the South East and the South West. This person will work alongside an existing Influencing and Engagement Manager in the South.
The Person
You will have outstanding relationship and stakeholder management skills and demonstrable experience of influencing external and internal stakeholders with often differing needs, interests, and motivations. You will have the ability to identify opportunities, make connections and facilitate collaboration between stakeholders with areas of mutual interest that may not appear immediately obvious.
An understanding of how to influence stakeholders to take action in contexts related to any of the challenges and aspirations set out in our strategy would be particularly welcome. As would specialist skills in any one of the following: campaigning, business engagement and community engagement. Specialist knowledge of any one of the following: the school system, the FE system, the skills agenda, higher education or local government would also be particularly advantageous in this role.

We work with people to develop a plan around their ongoing safety and wellbeing, identify the next steps in their recovery and build a sense of hope for the future.
We provide a compassionate and non-judgmental service in a welcoming and therapeutic environment.
The service consists of:
• Face to Face, recovery orientated support
• Safety Planning and therapeutic approaches
• Sign posting
• Peer support
The service is open to anyone aged 16 and over. We are open early evening until late, 7 days a week, we are located approximately 10 minutes from Derby City Centre.
Crisis House
This service is provided in the most appropriate setting (e.g. service users own home, Crisis house).
The service aims to enable individuals to achieve the highest level of functioning possible in the least restrictive setting; preventing unnecessary hospitalisation; facilitate more rapid discharge from an acute care setting; offering respite to carers from the demands of caring and to provide timely and accessible help to persons experiencing psychiatric and psychosocial crisis.
The service will act as a gatekeeper to hospital admission, rapidly assessing individuals with acute mental health problems and referring them to the most appropriate service.
Provide rapid multidisciplinary assessment (where clinically indicated, within 4 hours) and support for individuals with acute mental health problems 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Where individuals are experiencing crises, the CRHT teams will ensure rapid response to a referral by providing intervention and support in the early stages of the crisis.
Be actively involved in discharge planning for those individuals for whom hospital admission may become necessary, and provide care in an appropriate environment (e.g. home, respite) to enable early discharge.
The salary for this post is £19,304 per annum, plus £650 one-time payment if you start no later than 1st September 2022.
The post holder will be required to work (upon average) of four sleep ins and three waking nights per month. Additional to the salary, sleep in shifts will be paid at the rate of £78.30 and walking nights at £15 per shift.
We have four permanent full time roles available, requiring the post holder to work 37.5 hours per week.

About the role
The Information Governance team are the champions of Data Protection and Information Governance within Alzheimer's Society. The team’s overriding objective is to enable all areas of the Society to use information appropriately whilst achieving the Society’s overall aim of creating a world without dementia.
The Information Governance Officer will support the wider Information Governance team in achieving this objective. They will be the first point of contact in the Society for data protection and information governance questions, providing advice and guidance as appropriate to ensure the safe and legal processing of information.
These queries will be from across the Society and could be in relation to service delivery, fundraising, campaigns, IT, volunteering or employment matters.

Reporting to the London Service Delivery Coach Team, the Stroke Association Support Coordinator provides stroke survivors, carers and families with personalised support throughout the stroke recovery journey. The purpose of the role is:
- To work with stroke survivors to identify and establish their personal communication and social goals.
- To plan and deliver meaningful activities to address identified communication support needs and goals in a variety of ways including both individual sessions and small group sessions.
- To work collaboratively with a range of organisations, clinicians and other professionals to create meaningful networks, providing the best possible support throughout the stroke pathway and into the community
About You
You will be/ have experience/have a proven record of:
- Ability to communicate effectively face to face, in writing, by email, on the telephone with stroke survivors and carers needs
- Interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with service users, colleagues and partner agencies
- Experience of providing person centred support to vulnerable people
This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role

We are looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Service based in East Berkshire.
Position: Stroke Association Support Coordinator
Location: Home based, West Kent with extensive travel will be required as part of this role (May include team meetings or other work related meetings)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: Circa £24,370 per annum
Contract: Permanent. Our services are contracted; we currently have funding for the contract until 31 March 2023

The Role
The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. A key part of the role will be to support service users and the delivery of the service.
Reporting to the Stroke Association Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:
- Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
- Provide personalised information, advice and support.
- Support clients to make informed lifestyle changes, which will help them to prevent further strokes
- Be accountable for volunteers, so experience of recruiting, training and managing volunteers would be an advantage.
- You will have excellent IT skills and demonstrate a flexible approach to your role.
About You
The post holder will have experience/background in:
- A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.
- Setting up and running virtual groups.
This role is home based, but extensive travel is required across the local area and occasionally further afield.

My job makes lives better by utilising my lived experience of mental illness or of caring for somebody who has mental health problems, in a Peer Support role to contribute to the care and recovery of people using GPiMHS (General Practice integrated Mental Health Service) and MHICS (Mental Health Integrated Community Services), and helping to ensure an accessible, non-stigmatising localised service.
Job Overview
GPiMHS / MHICS is an emotional and wellbeing service that supports adults aged over 18 in primary care who are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. Patients are offered extended consultation times, quick and easy access to practical advice and tailored support for their mental health needs from a multidisciplinary team.
Through sharing wisdom from their own experiences, the Lived Exp Pract will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others. As an integral and highly valued member of the team, the Lived Exp Pract will provide formalised peer support and practical assistance to people using the service in order for them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery journey. In particular, the Lived Exp Pract will support the smooth transition of people using the service to other Mental Health services, by helping them to complete recovery and crisis plans for example. Within a relationship of mutuality and information sharing, they will promote choice, self-determination and opportunities for the fulfillment of socially valued roles and connection to local communities.
Suitable for someone who is kind, caring and supportive with good interpersonal and communication skills and who is keen to provide the highest quality experience for people using GPiMHS / MHICS.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Required

- Work alongside an agreed number of people using the GPiMHS / MHICS service on a 1:1 and / or group basis, in person and / or virtually, from a lived experience perspective
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Deliver peer support interventions as agreed within the multidisciplinary team, and within a peer relationship
- Use personal, experiential knowledge and to share lived experience when appropriate to benefit others
- Assist others to create their own recovery and crisis plans, particularly people who are transitioning from the service to another Mental Health service (e.g. SABP Community Mental Health Recovery Service)
- Establish supportive and respectful relationships with people using the service
- Help people identify their own recovery goals
- Support people using the service to identify and overcome fears within a relationship of empathy and trust
- Share ideas about ways of achieving Recovery goals, drawing on personal experiences and a range of coping, self-help and self-management techniques
- Model personal responsibility, self-awareness, self-belief, self-advocacy and hopefulness
- Sign-post to various resources, opportunities and activities within the Organisation and in communities to promote choice and informed decision making
- Accompany people who use the service to appointments / meetings / activities of their choice and performing a range of practical tasks, aligned to recovery goals
