DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this.

We’ve developed the infrastructure of DMD clinical trial delivery in the UK. We engage industry and regulators to accelerate access to treatments. And we’re here to support every family affected and ensure that they receive the best possible care. We aim not only to improve quality of live but stop the disease in its tracks. We’re doing it faster too, because this generation of patients can’t wait.

Alex and Emily were awarded OBEs in The King’s Birthday Honours List in 2023 in recognition of their services to charity and to people living with DMD. They, and the dedicated and effective team they have built at Duchenne UK, are now at the forefront of this work in the UK.

We have an opportunity to join our team and build on these achievements. We are recruiting for a full-time Fundraising Manager, who will be a key part of our team and play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission.

The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraiser with strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of individuals. Excellent organisational skills are a must along with being ambitious, driven and passionate about representing Duchenne UK and supporting our mission.

The Fundraising Manager will report to the Director of Fundraising and line manage the Fundraising Assistant. They will work closely the rest of the organisation, including the Communications, Finance and Research Teams as well as having the opportunity to work alongside the CEO and Managing Director.

Job Description

This role plays a key part in advancing the fundraising of Duchenne UK to enable more investment into research, advancing treatments and supporting the DMD community.  A core part of this will be building relationships with key supporters, including our incredible Family and Friends Funds, corporate supporters and community of fundraisers.

You will be central to the development and delivery of key events and campaigns throughout the year to achieve ambitious fundraising targets. You will have budget management responsibilities and provide insight into activities to drive improvements and further success in future years.

The role will contribute to overall fundraising growth; ensuring the guiding engagement and fundraising principles are delivered, and that all fundraising delivers an exceptional and remarkable donor experience to which Duchenne UK prides itself.

Fundraising and business development

• Community
  • Key relationship manager for Duchenne UK Family and Friends Funds, engaging them through fundraising, supporting third party events and providing regular project and charity updates
  • Develop and implement the Family Fund and Community Fundraising stewardship strategy
• Events, Challenge and Campaigns
  • Manage and grow the challenge events portfolio
  • Project manage community events and Duchenne UK campaigns
  • Oversee the whole event process from developing a business case and objectives, to budget, project management and event follow up with relevant agencies and suppliers to deliver events within budget
  • Play a vital role in the delivery of Duchenne UK’s signature event, the Duchenne Dash. Our 24hr London to Paris bike ride raising c.£800k annually.

  • Manage Corporate partnerships, with support from the Fundraising Director
• Stewardship and income development
  • Develop and deepen existing donor relationships, ensuring that the organisation maintains effective communications and good relations with our donors at every level and that they are updated on our work and impact
  • Oversee management of regular giving, including working with the Communications team to promote this type of giving. Provide stewardship to Regular Givers, with support from the Fundraising Assistant.
  • Lead the identification and development of new income sources with the support of the Fundraising team to increase donations, improve the profile of Duchenne UK and enhance our reputation within the donor community; including corporate partnerships, fundraising campaigns, third party activity, challenge events, regular giving and legacy
  • Represent the organisation at meetings with donors and external events
• Monitoring and evaluation
  • Support the development and implementation of the new Sales Force database (launching July 2024)
  • Monthly monitoring and evaluation of fundraising activity
  • Review fundraising and engagement for each Duchenne UK event and campaign with the support of the Fundraising Team.

Every year thousands of students volunteer to build communities around activities and social issues that are meaningful to them. These volunteer student leaders have a huge impact on the student experience of thousands more of their peers, as well as hundreds of people in the University’s local community. The Student Development Team aims to create opportunities for students to build and participate in communities that are inclusive, sustainable, ambitious, and impactful, and the Senior Volunteer Coordinator will play a key role in achieving this vision for our student leadership programmes.

In collaboration with a second Senior Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll be leading on a series of volunteering programmes that we’re really proud of. Since September 2023, student volunteers have raised over £150,000 for charitable causes, given over 2,800 hours of their time to volunteer directly in the local community, and broadcast an award-winning radio station, among other achievements. As part of the ARUK Leadership Team, the Head of Philanthropy plays a pivotal role in leading the charity to accelerate progress towards a cure. The Head of Philanthropy will lead a team of approximately 8-10 people. The role holder will also personally lead on relationships with a small group of ARUK’s most generous supporters, and prospective supporters, across Philanthropy audiences.

Programme Manager role

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and committed Programme Manager(s) to join our existing Programme Team in September 2024 on a full or part-time basis (6-month fixed-term with potential to extend).  As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Yes Futures programmes in-person, in our partner primary and secondary schools in North London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire.

Main Responsibilities

You will be one of a small team of Programme Managers, dedicated to delivering excellent programmes which make a positive difference to the lives of students.  The main responsibilities of the Programme Manager role are:

Programme delivery

• Responsible for the care and wellbeing of all students in your schools on the programme;
• Communicating with parents where necessary during the programme, by email, letter and telephone;
• Planning and delivering whole-group workshops for students;
• Planning and delivering information and celebration events for students and parents;
• Facilitating the in-person and online volunteer coaching team to deliver student coaching sessions. As well as delivering coaching sessions to students, where required;
• Developing business and charity partnerships for day trips;
• Planning and delivering the day trips included in the programme;
• Supporting the planning and delivery of the Into the Wild and World of Work day trips;
• Implementing discipline procedures, including reporting serious discipline issues;
• Implementing all necessary Health and Safety and Child Protection procedures, including recording and reporting any incidents;
• Ongoing communication with the school and Yes Futures head office regarding student engagement and progress.

Organisation and administration

• School onboarding, including ensuring that dates are planned, students are recruited and parental agreements are returned;
• Planning and organising the logistical elements of the programme (timetables, activities, sessions plans etc) through liaising with Yes Futures head office, school staff, businesses, charitable organisations and the rest of the Coaching team;
• Creation of Risk Assessments, parent letters and programme-related documents for schools;
• Sourcing materials needed for programme sessions, including lunches for trips;
• Assisting with finance and petty cash where required.

Management of volunteer Yes Futures Coaches

• Managing and developing the skills of your Coaching teams (usually 2-6 adults per school);
• Ongoing communication with your Coaching teams, to foster their enthusiasm and commitment;
• Supporting Coach recruitment for future programmes;
• Supporting the planning and delivery of training for Coaches;
• Maintaining accurate and secure records of Coaches’ personal information, absences, sickness and other relevant information.

Evaluation and reporting

• Facilitating the pre-, mid- and end of programme evaluations;
• Oversight and input of key student monitoring data and impact data;
• Debriefing and ongoing feedback collection from schools and Coaches;
• Ensure all work is carried out in an effective and timely manner to support continued high standards of the Yes Futures programmes.

Programme Managers will also be given the opportunity to support with other Head Office functions, including but not limited to:

• Strengthening our strategy, programme design and theory of change;
• Supporting the marketing of Yes Futures to new schools and customers;
• Developing our fundraising strategy through bid writing and other fundraising tasks;
• Establishing relationships with key partner organisations;
• Planning our future Ambassador offer and other pilot programmes.

The Jacobs Futura Foundation is a newly established philanthropic foundation, working to support two key causes: the preservation, and restoration of tropical rainforest for the benefit of nature and local communities, and the provision of education and support to athletes during and after their sporting careers. The Role

The Director of Finance and Operations is a key position within this nascent and highly exciting charity. Overseeing finance, IT and facilities, you will operate in both a hands on and strategic capacity for the Jacobs Futura Foundation, designing and rolling out appropriate controls and processes whilst managing outsourced partner functions.

Working closely with (and where appropriate, deputising for) the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the establishment of finance systems and processes for the Jacobs Futura Foundation. You will work as a key business partner across the Foundation, working with programmatic leads to help inform on and improve financial understanding. You will lead on organisational budgeting, forecasting, international management reporting, as well as manage the relationships with the current outsourced finance partners. • Lead on organisational budgeting and forecasting, including short and medium term financial planning

 A qualified finance professional, with significant post-qualified experience at senior finance level

Role purpose

As we continue our exciting growth plans in 2024 to deliver on our ambitious goals and refreshed strategy,

we’re looking for a for an organised, thoughtful and proactive People and Office Assistant to join our

People and Finance & Operations teams. You will have lots of opportunities to develop new skills, take on

You will be joining a collaborative and purpose driven team overseen by a committed board. Our team is

Some key responsibilities

· People Support - supporting the People Manager with the full employee life cycle: arranging interviews, onboarding new starters, maintaining the HR & training software systems, and all other people related administrative tasks.

· Meetings and Events - supporting the Executive Assistant with diary management and other administrative tasks including arranging internal and external meetings and events.

· Office and Health and Safety - supporting the Senior Finance and Operations Officer on all office management responsibilities, ensuring a safe and clean workspace and smooth working for the team.

· IT Systems - supporting the administration of core business systems including CRM, MS Office, Teams and Sharepoint

To be successful, your experience and skills will include:

· The ability to work as part of a team and to maintain highly positive and effective working relationships with others

· Previous experience in a HR support or HR administration role

· Good working knowledge of all MS Office applications

· Being organised and methodical, planning out your work and prioritising tasks

· Managing your time to deliver punctually against agreed deadlines

We're looking for a highly organised, independent and practical individual to join our small team as General Manager. You’ll oversee our core operations, provide support across our innovative programme, and help us to develop longer-term sustainability.

The General Manager will keep core operations running smoothly – across HR, finance and communications – as well as developing the company’s systems and policies to adapt to current and future needs. Responsibilities:

HR & Operations

● Manage Coney’s operations, resources and materials to ensure our activities and processes are high-quality, fit for purpose and well-managed.

● Support the Directors to engender positive staff relations and good communication throughout the company, those representing it and its networks.

● Oversee Coney’s remote-working and office systems, including IT systems, schedules and other resources, ensuring that they are fit for purpose and cost-effective.

● Manage Coney’s statutory obligations with Companies House, the Charities Commission and other bodies and regulatory authorities, with support from the Directors.

● Maintain regular communication with Coney’s Trustees, ensuring that Board meetings, minutes, reports and information are prepared effectively and on time. 

Financial

● Manage Coney’s day-to-day financial systems, including making bank payments and managing invoices receivable, supported by the Marketing & Admin Officer.

● Reconcile Coney’s bank accounts and input all financial activity into Quickbooks (including income & expenditure, credit cards, expenses, invoices payable, payments received) against the correct budget lines. 

● Run payroll (including sending payslips and other pay documents, scheduling salary payments and reporting to HMRC) and ensure pensions, PAYE taxes and National Insurance are calculated and paid on time.

● Create and submit quarterly VAT returns using Quickbooks

Stakeholder Management & Fundraising

● Work alongside the JCEOs to maintain high level contact and dialogue with Coney’s key stakeholders.

● Manage Coney’s Friends scheme and support effective communication with funders.

● Alongside the rest of the core team, identify opportunities for fundraising, commercial projects and consultancy, building relationships and contributing to funding proposals as required.

Marketing & Communications

● Support the Marketing & Admin Officer and Executive Programme Director / JCEO to prepare and execute a marketing and communications plan – strategically positioning Coney’s work across communities and sectors.

● Support the Marketing & Admin Officer to ensure regular communication with Coney networks (newsletters, social media and other relationships) and produce effective communication and ticketing systems for events and projects as required.

Head of Healthy Active Children

About the role:

Too few children in Oxfordshire get the opportunity to be active. We work with partners to tackle inequalities so that every child and young person in the county can have the best possible active start in life. 

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Active Oxfordshire, the successful candidate will lead the development and growth of our Healthy Active Children strategic work, build relationships with partners, line manage two members of the team and ensure our Healthy Active Children programmes of work complement each other.

About you:

 You will have experience in identifying strategic opportunities and the ability to develop and nurture relationships at a senior level in partner organisations.
As an experienced line manager, you will be able to bring people together around a specific agenda and create a sense of energy and purpose. 
You will have experience in managing budgets and identifying clear priorities to manage an interconnected workload.
A strong enthusiasm for our cause is a must, as well as the ability to articulate a compelling case for why physical activity is important for children and young people 

What we offer:

This is a fixed-term contract, initially for 18 months.  The role is a part-time position, working 3 days / 22.5 hours per week.
You will receive a salary of £27,810 (based on a 22.5 hour week, which is a full-time equivalent salary of £46,350) and benefits including a generous 10% contributory pension scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, 38 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata) and our new bespoke Employee Support and Wellbeing Programme. 
Hybrid working is available, which means typically one day a week is in the office (Monday) with the rest of the week working remotely from home, within the community or with partner organisations.

St Catherine’s College seeks to appoint a new Development Executive ahead of the development and launch of a major new capital campaign. The Development Executive will be a key member of the St Catherine’s College Development Team, working hand in glove with the Development Director and Deputy Director in particular, to advance our major gifts programme.

This post is full time, for a three year fixed term in the first instance.

The salary is in the range £36,024 - £44,263 per year.

The post holder will be personally responsible for:

• identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors and prospects with the capacity and propensity to make significant (£25,000 - £500k+) financial contributions to College;
• identifying the next generation of major donors, building relationships, securing five, six and, in time, seven figure gifts, and driving up philanthropic income in the medium and longer term;
• focusing on individuals, foundations, and, in some cases where relevant, corporations, with the potential to make transformative gifts.

This role has arisen at a pivotal time for St Catherine’s College; as we prepare for a major campaign for an ambitious estates project. Working with the Director and Deputy Director, this new role will be vital in developing, launching and closing out this landmark campaign and ensuring that the College capitalises on the momentum created to launch into its next philanthropic phase.

The successful candidate will have a track record of having asked for, negotiated, and secured major gifts, alongside proven success in developing and maintaining effective donor relationships. As a senior member of the Development Team, it is an excellent opportunity for a proven development professional looking to broaden their fundraising experience, as well as taking that next step towards leadership.
