About the role
The Director of Operations leads all our member-facing services and operations to ensure that these services run effectively. The post holder is responsible for overseeing business planning and managing income streams, ensuring financial sustainability. They will maintain all relationships with local authorities, Integrated Care Boards, and private funders, ensuring the quality of services and adherence to best practices, regulations, and legislation.

- Provide strategic leadership to the service leads for all our member-facing services, and the administration and premises team to ensure the efficient delivery, quality, and consistency of services, guided by the principles of co-production.
- Oversee the development of plans and strategies for each team and instil a sense of collaboration, common goals, and working together across the departments to ensure the sustainability of our services.
- Oversee all budgets within the departments.
- Build good relationships with stakeholders in the boroughs we serve to develop opportunities for growth and development of our services.
- Lead on commissioning/tender/framework contracting arrangements with the local authorities we serve.
- Lead on safeguarding and health and safety to ensure we are compliant in all areas.
- Work with staff to ensure our members’ voices are at the centre of everything we do.
- Work with the managers and the Finance team to ensure unit costs are correct and work to ensure full costs of the service are recovered from customers.

The Brent Centre for Young People is the leading mental health charity for young people in Northwest London, helping over 700 young people a year with a wide range of issues. BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant- makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations. IFST is hiring – we are the leading professional body for food professionals and are looking for a Registration, Accreditation and Membership Manager to push forward our work to promote food science and technology for the benefit, safety, and health of everyone.
As our Registration, Accreditation and Membership Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the membership lifecycle process. In addition, this role coordinates and actively manages the administration of applications and renewals for the Institute’s accreditation and professional registration assessments, working closely with our voluntary assessors and committees. These functions are managed using the Institute’s CRM system and integrated software.
You will coordinate and actively manage the flow of applications for IFST’s wide range of membership and other registration assessment processes, via our network of trained assessors. The role is also responsible for monitoring and reporting to ensure consistently high standards of assessment are maintained, and for the maintenance and integrity of our registers including CPD associated with our registers. You will efficiently manage the accreditation of training programmes and courses.
You will be a confident communicator with an eye for detail and knowledge of Professional Development and Recognition and/or CPD schemes. Ideally you will have Food Sector and/or University sector experience. As the lead role in our Membership team, you’ll line manage our Registration and Accreditation Officer and our Registration and Accreditation Administrator to provide an excellent service to our members. We are a small team, so a proactive and can-do attitude are just as important as your communication & organisational skills.

Finance and Resources Manager (Full Time)
Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.
Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.
As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

About the Role:
Based in the office, you will be the first point of contact for many children, young people and their families seeking counselling services. You will provide crucial administrative support to our team of counsellors and will work closely with the Operations Manager to create and synchronise processes for tracking clinical and non-clinical outcomes to help to evaluate and improve the performance of the charity. We are looking for a new member of our Bereavement Services team, to grow our capacity and help us reach even more people bereaved by epilepsy. Our bereavement services are provided for free, completely confidentially, to anyone who needs us. Often via telephone or email support, though we also have a thriving and complex Casework Service, helping bereaved navigate the inquest or investigation into their loved one’s death.
This new position will provide first-hand support to the existing team of 3, learning from their experiences and expertise about how we support people bereaved by epilepsy, and how this way of working influences the work we do across the charity.
You’ll be learning the ropes from day 1, getting stuck in with any tasks needed to help support the Bereavement Services team – this could range from admin tasks, answering initial enquiries from bereaved supporters (via phone or email), and will eventually lead to you taking initial calls with bereaved supporters, sharing with them the different ways the charity can support them, and helping us understand how best we can help them. There is a real potential for this role to grow and develop with the right candidate.
This is a Hybrid / Remote role. The SUDEP Action offices are based in Wantage, Oxfordshire. All staff are expected to visit the office every 6 weeks for a team meeting as a minimum.
