The new Chair of Trustees will continue to build and lead the Foundation with a distinct identity as a public education charity working in service of social justice.
Chair of Trustees
We are looking to appoint a new Chair who has a demonstrable commitment to the Foundation with the ability to lead and manage a unique and growing national charity.
The Chair has responsibility for providing oversight, shaping strategy and working collaboratively with the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees to further develop the organisation’s vision for the next three to five years. The Chair will also support the Vice Chair in overseeing financial management and external relations. The role is not accompanied by any financial remuneration.

The Trustee Role

Your Responsibilities as a Trustee:

Membership and Operation of the Board
The ENN Board of Trustees comprises individuals appointed by the Trust Members, selected for their diverse skills, experience, and commitment to ENN’s mission and values. Collectively, the Board provides strategic leadership, ensures good governance, and supports ENN in delivering its charitable objectives.
Trustees are appointed for an initial term of four years and are eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the Trust Members at a General Meeting, in accordance with ENN’s Articles of Association.
The Chair of Trustees is elected by the Board from among its members. The Chair serves for a term of up to three years and may be re-elected for one additional term. This ensures a balance of continuity and renewal in Board leadership.
The Board meets quarterly and may convene additional meetings as required. Trustees are expected to attend meetings regularly and actively participate in subcommittees, working groups, and strategic initiatives as needed.
Time Commitment – And our Commitment to You
Your commitment in an average year is likely to be 4 pre-fixed board meetings, each of half a day. Each of these are preceded by sub-committee meetings, usually of ninety-minutes, and each trustee is expected to participate in one sub-committee. Other committee and ad hoc meetings and additional support will be arranged as agreed. We encourage active participation and engagement, and Trustees often give more time outside of this, on their own terms.
Board meetings are held virtually, with an intention to hold one facilitated face to face meeting at the ENN HQ in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, every two years. Additional sub-committee meetings will be convened remotely.
Ideally you will join the Board in 2025, though we can show some flexibility on this for the right candidate, and in your first few months you should allow for additional time for induction and orientation (including meeting a number of the Leadership Team).
Remuneration
This is an unpaid, voluntary position. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed for attendance at Board meetings and other Trustee activities in line with ENN’s policies. About It’s Time:
It’s Time is a charity created by and for young adults who have experienced the death of a parent. Founded by people who know this grief first-hand, the charity ensures no one aged 18–35 has to navigate such loss alone. Through peer-led support, events, free group therapy, and tailored resources, It’s Time offers connection and understanding during an often isolating time. The charity also partners with universities, workplaces, and families to promote better bereavement support - recognising that grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and the help offered to young adults shouldn’t either.
The charity was founded in 2021 and we now run local peer support groups throughout England, have a year long waiting list for our group therapy and supports around 500 people in the online community. Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham is seeking a dynamic person as our next Chair. Building on recent success you will ensure our Board delivers its strategy for local people working closely with our Chief Executive.
What will you be doing?
In addition to the general responsibilities of a Trustee, the duties of the Chair include the following.
- Providing leadership to the organisation and the board by ensuring that everyone remains focused on the delivery of the organisation’s charitable purposes in order to provide greater public benefit
- Chairing and facilitating board meetings
- Giving direction to board policy-making
- Checking that decisions taken at meetings are implemented
- Representing the organisation at functions and meetings, and acting as a spokesperson as appropriate

With the Chief Executive:
- Planning the annual cycle of board meetings and other general meetings where required, for example annual general meeting

Who We Are
The Derbyshire Cricket Foundation (DCF) is a registered charity that improves lives and empowers communities across Derbyshire through cricket. What’s involved?
As a Trustee of the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation you share ultimate responsibility for governing a charity and directing how it is managed and run, but the roles are largely “eyes-on, hands-off”, as our members of staff manage the day-to-day operational business of the DCF.
We have six Board meetings a year, typically of 2.5 hours duration. Board meetings are held on midweek evenings, start at 5.30pm, and are usually hosted at the Derbyshire CCC Central Co-Op County Ground in Derby. All our Board meetings have a hybrid format, so that Trustees can attend remotely via Teams if they need that flexibility.
Trustees are also expected to be a member of one of our Board committees, which will be aligned with their areas of interest or experience. This will typically involve attending a further 1-2 meetings per year. There may be further opportunities for Trustees to support our work or events, but we appreciate that the role is a voluntary commitment and respect that our Trustees will need to balance their time with other commitments.
The role is voluntary and unpaid. Trustees are initially appointed for a 3 year term, with an option to serve a further two terms, up to a maximum of 9 years. A comprehensive induction will be provided for new Trustees, to ensure they have good understanding of the role and the DCF business.

The Rebecca Swift Foundation (RSF) is a registered charity dedicated to uplifting and supporting women poets across the UK to achieve their full creative potential. Established in memory of the poet and editor Rebecca Swift, the Foundation works to advance the craft, creativity, and wellbeing of women poets through its flagship initiatives, including the Women Poets’ Prize, the Women Poets’ Network, and the Women Poets’ Festival.
To date, RSF has directly supported over 2,500 women poets through prizes, events, training opportunities, and membership activities, with alumnae featured in leading publications such as The Guardian and The Telegraph. Its work is guided by a strong ethos of accessibility: services are low-cost or free wherever possible, in recognition of the financial precarity experienced by many women poets.
The Role
The Rebecca Swift Foundation is seeking a new Chair to help guide the organisation beyond its current Arts Council England funded programme. The Chair will work closely with the Board of Trustees and Project Manager to align the Foundation’s long-term strategy with its ambitions to expand reach, secure financial sustainability, and maintain its commitment to equity and inclusion.
RSF is also recruiting new Trustees to strengthen the Board with expertise in areas such as fundraising, governance, advocacy, income generation, community development, and sector connections. While direct experience in poetry is not required, an interest in literary creativity and a commitment to amplifying women’s voices are essential.
