Purpose of the job
This role is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual to join the UK Youth Fundraising team. UK Youth already works with a broad range of exciting corporate partners, including Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, KFC, Burger King and RSA Insurance. This role focuses on identifying and securing new income generation opportunities with Corporate Partners across strategic, commercial and charity of the year style collaborations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and secure income from new corporate organisations and achieve new business targets
- Identify new corporate opportunities to add to the new business corporate pipeline
- Pro-actively engage new businesses using a range of methods: e.g. working with senior stakeholders, events, networking, cold calls, emails, LinkedIn
- Develop and strengthen warm relationships with prospective funders and find opportunities to engage them in the work of UK Youth
- Develop corporate bids, budgets and proposals, managing the process across different teams, cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Create and present high quality, persuasive funding bids to C-suite audiences and senior stakeholders
- Present and attend meetings alongside senior leaders and stakeholders at UK Youth
- Work with the Senior Partnerships Manager to identifying new streams of income from different corporate audiences
- Work with the Senior Partnerships Manager to develop the corporate partnerships offer beyond income generation, identifying opportunities for corporate partners to offer their skills and expertise to further UK Youth’s charitable objectives
- Ensure all donations are accurately recorded and recognised, working closely with the finance team
- Ensure that the CRM is up to date and accurate at all times
- Keep up to date with trends, research and data on fundraising and corporate partnerships, helping to inform long-term strategy
Experience we're after
- Demonstratable experience in a sales or corporate fundraising role, working on six – seven figure proposals
- Proven track record of corporate partnerships fundraising/ securing sales targets from new organisations
- Experience of working in a busy and deadline-driven environment and achieving ambitious targets
- Experience negotiating, pitching and presenting to senior (C-suite) internal and external stakeholders

Grants Manager
We are seeking a proactive and detailed Grants Manager to support our development team on the journey to further Cardboard Citizens’ ambitions as a dynamic, flexible and forward-thinking social justice charity and theatre company, working with people who have experience of homelessness and poverty or inequity.
Our organisation secures over £1m in voluntary funding each year and our Grants Manager will play a vital role in securing and growing the broad range of voluntary support which allows to make exceptional art for social change. You will manage a rich portfolio of existing funder relationships across Trusts & Foundations, Corporate and Statutory income streams, in addition to researching and writing applications for new funding and working closely with the Delivery team on impact monitoring and reporting. You will cultivate and steward funder relationships and manage and represent the organisation at events run by, with and for existing and prospective funders, including establishing new funding connections for Cardboard Citizens in Hackney, following our recent move from Whitechapel to Hoxton.
Following this move and the launch of our film series More Than One Story in partnership with The Big Issue, this summer, you will be joining Cardboard Citizens at a time of growth, change and increased local and national exposure, as we plan for our longer-term future. We have targets in place to retain and increase income we receive from grants, which make up the majority of our annual income. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring Cardboard Citizens can deliver our programme year-on-year and continue to grow. This role is for you if you work in fundraising and are looking for a new challenge, or a step up to a manager position in a supportive organisation.
Salary: £35,000+ (dependent on experience)
Contract: Permanent (subject to 6-month probation).
Pension: Cardboard Citizens offers a 6% employer contribution pension scheme and complies with the employer pension duties concerning pensions auto-enrolment in accordance with Part 1 of the Pensions Act 2008.
Hours: Full Time/ 37.5 hours per week (some weekends and evenings required). Overall purpose
The Philanthropy Manager will manage and steward a portfolio of funders and donors – across trusts and foundations, statutory sources and major donors – to secure annual and multi-year gifts in support of Breaking Barriers’ vision. As well as managing relationships with our existing donors there will be a focus on creating new relationships through proactive prospecting and developing a long-term strategic approach to stewardship and relationship development.
You will be an ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic, and autonomous fundraiser with a demonstrable passion for supporting people from a refugee background. You will have a strong track record of high-value relationship management and fundraising, ideally specialising in Trusts, Statutory, Major Donor fundraising or a related area. We are looking for someone who can successfully secure and steward gifts of 5 figures and above – so evidence of stewarding high-value relationships and high-quality written skills are key. You will collaborate with additional fundraisers across Trusts, Statutory, Corporate and Major Gifts to coordinate approaches and maximise opportunities across all functions.
We welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills from other sectors and other areas of fundraising but a strong knowledge of the fundamentals of grant fundraising is essential. We are looking for a passionate individual who can get people excited about the work we do and who wants to make a difference in the lives of individuals from a refugee background. Specific responsibilities will include the following:
- Oversee and manage the distribution and administration of all grants within our programmes.
- Work with both the Programme and Philanthropy Teams to ensure all grants are matched with the relevant income stream.
- Oversee the grant admin work of programme officers to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of grant paperwork.
- Monitor and track grantee compliance with all report submissions and any other key deliverables.

Reporting, location, and work hours

Overall purpose
The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a key leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate. Breaking Barriers’ relationship with corporate partners is the USP upon which our growth and success as an organisation has been built. The Head of Corporate Partnerships has accountability for generating income, impact and influence from the private sector, and for leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious growth and scale for refugees around the UK.
As Breaking Barriers has grown from a start-up organisation to a now 60-strong team raising c. £4m and supporting more than 1,200 refugees annually, our corporate partnerships have expanded beyond our original London base to be nationwide partnerships with a wide range of businesses and employers. You will lead a team to deliver outstanding partnerships management of a range of strategic and multi-faceted relationships with a portfolio of c.50 businesses alongside leading strategy for business development. Leading by example you will own a number of our key relationships to drive growth, whilst bringing your experience to bear to coach your team and ensure structures and processes are in place to enable high performance.

The Global Center is seeking an early/mid-career professional to support capacity development programming that advances equitable collaboration between civil society, government, private sector, and multilateral actors to realize a more just and secure world.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of project workplans, including inception phase consultations and capacity development activities.
- Collaborate with team members, expert-practitioners, project partners, and funders in the development and implementation of program activities.
- Assist with the cultivation and management of a network of local, regional, and international beneficiaries, experts, partners, and donors from government, community groups, and civil society organizations.
- Organize the administrative and logistical planning of activities, including the preparation of meeting materials, securing venues and equipment, and arranging transportation.
- Support effective financial management of program activities, including adherence to organizational procurement policies, expense reporting, management of vendor relationships, and processing of contractual and vendor payments with approval.
- Collect data and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of program activities.
- Produce rigorous reporting on program developments, experience, lessons learned, challenges, and assess short, medium and long-term results.
- Contributes to research tasks as needed, including program background research, issue and policy analysis, and research components of publications as needed.
- Support fundraising and development efforts, including drafting components of concept notes and proposals and contributing to context analysis and program design.
- Collaborate on and assist with organization-wide priorities, including administrative support, research, internal and external meetings, and strategic reviews and evaluations as needed.
- International travel will be required.

- Strong organizational and program management skills, including with scheduling, event planning, and working across multiple time-zones.
- Strong ability to meet deadlines, manage tasks and schedules, maintain regular and responsive communication, and work independently as well as in a collaborative team.
- Interest and/or knowledge on human rights-based responses to political violence and violent extremism, including gender-responsive security policies and practices.
- Interest and/or understanding of the centrality of human rights and the rule of law in the prevention and response to political violence and violent extremism.
- Proven ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy in an exciting but challenging environment, including ability to navigate cultural, linguistic, and political landscapes.
- Ability to engage effectively and respectfully with a range of cross-cultural colleagues and stakeholders, including partners, consultants, government officials, non-governmental organizations, and embassy personnel.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in international relations, law, international development, criminology, sociology, security policy, or other related field is required.
- 2-5 years of professional experience is required.
- Excellent written communication skills are essential. Foreign language skills are desired, but not required.
- Experience interacting with internal and external contacts such as government and policymakers, civil society, and donors (experience in the Global South is an advantage).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Must have authorization to work in the United Kingdom, Kenya, or the United States.
