Role Overview: 

The Head of Marketing & Sales plays a pivotal role in driving the organisation’s growth. You will develop and execute multi-channel strategies delivered across the funnel from enhancing brand visibility and generating leads, nurturing leads to conversion, right the way through to supporting customer retention and advocacy. This varied role offers the opportunity to expand market reach with our current services, as well as helping launch new products into existing and untapped markets, while delivering a strong RoI.

You will report directly to the Chief Revenue Generation Officer who leads the revenue team, comprising of digital marketing and content specialists as well as membership support staff.

We are looking for someone to work with a clear strategy and then develop, grow and successfully manage our Youth Advisory (YAG) and Alumni groups, as well as lead the engagement of families / support networks. The ideal candidate is someone who will ensure interns accessing the DFN Project SEARCH model are at the heart of decision making and who will champion their rights and their participation. We are in our third year of running our YAG and yet to launch our Alumni offer. This role will therefore involve leading the implementation, development, and growth of the membership of both DFN Project SEARCH YAG and Alumni group. · Plan, construct and execute paid campaigns for the charity. Optimising engaging campaigns across primary platforms including social media, SEM, SEO and display advertising as appropriate

Communications:     

• Develop, contribute to and implement impact-driven and strategic communications campaigns that build Kineara’s fundraising capacity and raise awareness of the issues

Medact’s Movement Organiser will work alongside our Campaign Leads and Head of Movement Building to grow our movement, developing groups of healthcare workers into confident campaigners who can make a visible difference in the struggle for health justice and peace. The successful candidate will spend approximately 80% of their time with one of our campaigners, and 20% participating in cross-organisational work. The ideal candidate will have an interest in, or experience of organising or campaigning around, issues related to economic justice or the climate crisis. 

About you

This is a skilled role, but you don’t need to have worked for an NGO or be a professional organiser to be right for it. You might have organised in your workplace or local community to take action on issues that you care about. Or, you might be a health worker who has seen the impact of injustices such as a poor environment, immigration or counter-terror policies,  low income or precarious housing on your patients, and wants to challenge decision-makers and hold them to account. 

You’ll have a strong understanding of power and how to work with others to create pressure for change. We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. You will play an integral role in communicating our work as widely as possible and improving and increasing engagement with our supporters, including our members, donors and corporate partners.

The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). They will report to the Director of Development and Head of Communications.

The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional. Our staff enjoy flexible working conditions, 27 days annual leave, plus the week between Christmas and the New Year, 8% employer pension contribution and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.

We are excited to be recruiting a School Partnerships Officer to join the School Partnerships Team. You’ll work to deliver the goals set out in Join the Club, our ambitious strategy for 2021-2026, specifically building partnerships with schools to deliver our  school facing interventions.

Your job will be to raise awareness of our programmes and transform expressions of interest into school partnerships. You will be responsible for a geographical area, creating a sales and partnerships plan and proactively reaching out to schools to generate opportunities and convert them into sales and signups. You will use your relationship building, influencing and selling skills to engage schools, trusts and networks to fulfil our charity mission in your area. If you are passionate about communicating with different audiences, quickly building relationships, and meeting ambitious targets that have a huge social impact, this could be the perfect role for you. This role will require you to become an expert on our programmes so that you can confidently discuss their features and benefits with key stakeholders. This isn’t about administering a process; it’s about understanding the needs of the schools and pupils in your area and how our programmes can support their priorities. You will be tenacious and empathetic in equal measure. You will also work to improve the efficiency of our internal systems, so teachers have the best experience communicating with us.

The role will report to the Director of School Sales and Partnerships. It can be based at any of our four Brilliant Club offices, located in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Cardiff.

 About You

The role will best suit someone who has:

• Experience of partnership building or selling a programme, product or service to schools, trusts, or other education sector stakeholders
• Resilience, tenacity and target driven motivation in a challenging marketplace
• A desire to positively impact social justice via charity sales
• Knowledge of UK education system- school, college and/or university sector
• Experience of using CRM systems, such as Salesforce
• A demonstrable passion for furthering The Brilliant Club’s mission.

You’ll be responsible, alongside our Head of Content, for producing our world-class lessons, with help from a supportive, collaborative team and a wealth of journalistic expertise from across The Economist Group. You will be a creative teacher, or ex-teacher, who is excited to turn the biggest issues in the news into engaging lessons for 10- to 16-year olds. You’ll research global topics and consider the best angles and innovative activities to produce a lesson every week. These lessons will build children’s essential skills and knowledge about the news through discussion-based activities. The activities will be inventive and varied and beyond your “usual” lesson planning. For example, they might involve students using QR codes to engage with unique multimedia content, a class debate in the style of a courtroom, or a bespoke game with prizes and challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Create Topical Talk classroom resources for children (60%)

● Research and pitch lesson plans that cover the most important facts, arguments, perspectives and questions

● Write, edit and proofread teaching resources. Your core responsibility will be to create a weekly, 1-hour “Headlines” lesson

● Collaborate with journalists at The Economist to ensure all work is of the highest quality

● Work with our Graphic Designer on the look and feel of the content

● Manage diaries, build rapport and communicate effectively to ensure deadlines are met

● Seek out and conduct interviews with topic experts

● Work with the Head of Content to monitor and evaluate the success of lessons

Design resources for one-off current affairs workshops/events for children (20%)

● Create one-off student workshops and events, from the idea-generation stage to writing, proofreading, delivery and evaluation

● Create lesson and website content for the annual Topical Talk Festival, where students join online discussions about the news

Teach lessons, facilitate student discussions and train teachers (20%)

● Facilitate online discussions during Topical Talk Festivals between young people on the Topical Talk Student Hub

● Visit schools to observe, and occasionally teach, Topical Talk lessons

● Deliver inspiring workshops to young people aged 10 to 18

● Occasionally deliver training to teachers to help support the use of resources

This role will involve some travel. It also involves working with young people, so you will need to have an enhanced DBS check (which The Foundation will organise).

● Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent) – you have at least two years of experience teaching primary or secondary students and an up-to-date knowledge of educational research and developments

● Experience of creating inspiring classroom resources, both collaboratively and independently

● Experience of building relationships and managing colleagues to secure what’s needed from them

You might have…

● Experience of creating and editing video and/or other multi-media content

● Experience of educational content creation outside of the classroom

Leaders in Community (LiC) is an award-winning youth-led organisation with over 15 years' experience in delivering youth leadership and youth social action campaigns, supporting local young people challenge and overcome inequalities and barriers to progression.

As the Partnerships and Services Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and as such will be a member of the leadership team, to deliver Leaders in Community’s (LiC) work to empower young people and communities to improve quality of life and build a sustainable future in line with the Charity’s vision and mission. Working alongside the leadership team, you will oversee, and capacity build the services being delivered in our vibrant community centre, which is located in the historic East End of London.
