About the role

As a Social Prescribing Link Worker within Primary Care, you’ll work with Wakefield’s communities, connecting people tolocal non-medical services, support, and activities that help tackle health inequalities and improve quality of life. You’ll:

• Support people one-to-one to identify their needs, set wellbeing goals, and access community-based solutions
• Be embedded within a local Primary Care Network and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Develop and grow strong partnerships with voluntary and community organisations, and NHS and social care services

The Communications Team tells people who Liberty is, what we do and how they can get involved – helping to shape the narrative of the media debate and influence decision makers. This role requires proven experience of line managing colleagues and devising and executing strategic national media and digital comms plans.

Liberty is a small organisation, which punches above its weight. The Media and Communications Manager will combine strong project management and hands-on day-to-day delivery, line managing a team of three in a fast-paced environment which includes a 24-hour press office.

This is an important leadership role. The post-holder will advise senior colleagues, set messaging, lead projects across earned and owned channels, brief and train spokespeople, build and maintain relationships with journalists and other external stakeholders, and draft and edit media materials.

Success will see integrated, collaborative and ambitious project planning to support policy, campaigns and legal cases to engage key audiences with impactful communications and enhance Liberty’s reputation and influence.

We are recruiting for a skilled and experienced manager to join the Helpline team. You will support the Head of Stop It Now, working alongside our Helpline Managers and Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Manager in the day to day running of the helpline and provide support and advice to Helpline Advisors. You will have direct client contact via telephone, a secure message service and online chat. You will also support with the training of staff and promotion of the work of the helpline.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the region including possible overnight stays.

This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed. What could my day look like?

The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.

In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.

As an Education Worker, you’ll always be delivering the programme as part of your centre team, which means that any delivery is always a team effort.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll design and deliver data pipelines, support colleagues in using data effectively, and help shape our data strategy. Contract​

• £45,000 per annum plus benefits
• Full time (35hrs per week) 
• Fixed Term Contract (12 months) with potential to extend
• Hybrid working with link to Ewell, Surrey or London office
• In-person working: Meeting in person and working collaboratively are things we value. We work in person around 2 days or more per month. ​​​

What you’ll do ​

• Design and manage a data warehouse to support analysis of our listener services
• Build data pipelines and transform data for actionable insights using analytical techniques
• Coordinate the use of data to inform service improvement
• Support colleagues to use and present data confidently and clearly
• Champion good data quality, governance and management practices
• Collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders
• Advise senior leaders, enabling them to make data-informed decisions​

What you’ll bring​

• A degree in a mathematical, scientific or computing subject (or equivalent experience)
• Experience in a data engineering or senior data analyst role
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with cloud systems
• Proficiency in Python, R or other analytical programming language
• Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
• Experience with data ingestion, workflow orchestration and data transformation
• A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to write clear documentation and guidance
   
• Understanding of machine learning/AI and ethical data use (desirable)
• Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector (desirable)​

We have an exciting new opportunity to join us as our Head of Communications and be a driving force in making that shift by creatively leading strategic communications and campaigns.

You will also play an important role by working with an external agency on the development of a new legacy proposition and supporting materials, as well as working on internal legacy promotions and staff training.

In this role you will lead our media, social media, campaigns and engagement functions, as well as project teams across the charity. You'll grow our engagement with diverse audiences and support them to take action towards ambitious campaign goals.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be occasions when you will need to attend  directorate days and face to face meetings. In addition, the charity meets four times a year at the office in Hatfield for our mandatory 'All Staff Together' days.
