You will work directly with young carers aged 5 and up to achieve positive outcomes, identifying and preventing inappropriate caring responsibilities through whole-family assessments and reviews and ensuring that young carers and their families have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs. You’ll also work closely with the Young Carers Team Leader to support the delivery of our young carers activities programme.

We are looking for someone who has a real passion about our mission and with proven ability in communicating sensitively with children, young people and their families.  You will have excellent organisational skills and be proficient in the use of IT.  You will need to be available for occasional evening and weekend work.

You will have experience working with vulnerable children and young people and will have a strong grasp of the realities of being a young carer in an inner city London borough.

About the role:

You will lead and support a team of Homicide Family Caseworkers to meet VS and Homicide Service standards and contractual requirements. You will have a passion for excellent service delivery, performance management and team welfare.

The family caseworkers provide in person support to families who have experienced the sudden and traumatic death by Homicide. The caseworkers are responsible for ensuring the needs identified are met, that each person being supported receives guidance, advise and practical support as well as emotional support and advocacy.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills essential to managing a diverse workload, and be committed to supporting the caseworkers to deliver support.

We pride ourselves on providing exceptional trauma informed advocacy and support to all and you will have an understanding of the impact that trauma and bereavement can have on individuals.

We support staff to keep them safe within their role and you will lead on the importance of personal and professional resilience and wellbeing for the team.

You will have excellent communication skills and will support the Operation Managers to maintain the highest standards of service delivery, across a widely geographically dispersed team.

You will be prepared to travel across the geographical area including occasional overnight stays to ensure you can meet team members in person as well as online.

You will enjoy working closely with a range of stakeholders (including Police Family Liaison Officers and Senior Investigation Officers within the Major Crime teams/Coroner officers and other statutory agencies) and will have experience in building constructive working relationships.

About the Role

This role is focused on delivering established communications strategies and plans over a 12-month fixed-term period. The Role

We’re seeking a strategic and inspirational Individual Giving leader to take ownership of a thriving programme and elevate it to new heights. You will drive the strategy for a £12m+ programme, lead a passionate team, and oversee campaigns including lottery, raffles, cash appeals, and supporter acquisition.

With a strong emphasis on supporter retention, journey design, and lifetime value, you’ll shape and deliver a growth-focused strategy that secures sustainable income and deepens supporter engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the Individual Giving Strategy and budget, targeting growth in net income.
• Lead and support a small but high-performing team to deliver inspirational campaigns.
• Manage and evolve acquisition and stewardship campaigns to expand and retain the supporter base.
• Use insight, segmentation, and innovation to drive campaign performance and supporter satisfaction.
• Oversee campaign analytics, reporting, forecasting, and budget management.
• Collaborate across teams to maximise impact and ensure a joined-up supporter experience.
• Contribute to CRM enhancements to enable a unified, insight-led supporter view.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and internal governance standards.

Duties

• To provide advice and casework support within the WLW advice team to our community members on housing, benefits, asylum support, immigration, health, education, finances, and other issues.

• To keep track of the progress of our members’ cases and ensure that they receive ongoing and holistic support.

• To support our members to understand their rights and entitlements in the areas of housing, benefits, asylum support, immigration, health, education, finances, and other issues.

• To ensure that casework records are compliant with WLW policies and procedures.

General Duties

• Work collaboratively within the WLW advice team to develop the team’s shared skills and knowledge and provide each other with support.

• Help build positive, collaborative relationships with other local and national organisations supporting refugees, asylum-seeking people and migrants.

• To gather data to contribute to the monitoring, evaluation of and reporting on WLW’s work for fundraising, communications, advocacy and reports.

• To attend staff meetings.

• To support with operational and general needs of the charity and staff team, such as with Felix Project groceries delivery, occasional Gail’s collection, and generally helping when and where required when extra help is needed.

• To attend WLW community events and activities when required.

• To support and promote diversity and equality of treatment of our community at WLW.

Person Specification

Experience

• Essential: At least two years experience advising and performing casework on housing/homelessness and benefits and other related issues for people newly granted refugee status and others with the right to remain in the UK.

• Essential: Experienced in advising refugees, asylum-seeking people and migrants.

• Desirable: Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) Level 1 or Level 2 qualified in Asylum and Protection or Immigration.

• Essential: Up-to-date knowledge on one or more of the following issues: housing (particularly for refugees and asylum-seeking people), benefits, asylum support, immigration, community care, health, or related issues.

• Essential: Demonstrable commitment to migrant justice, anti-racism and equal opportunities for all.

• Desirable: Certificate in Generalist Advice work or equivalent qualification, or equivalent level of experience and skill. 

• Desirable: Lived experience of refuge or migration.

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Business Support Manager to support the delivery of our new five year Strategic Plan.

This exciting new role will act as the bridge between our Operations and Central Services. It's a unique opportunity to shape how these functions work together to achieve our organisational goals more effectively. As this is a newly created function as part of our Transformation Programme, launched in June 2024, this role offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to shape how this role develops.

The Insight Analyst will work with the Insight Manager to collect, analyse, and present data and insight to BUCS staff, members and other stakeholders. The Insight Analyst will also take the lead on key projects that support the Insight Manager to deliver the overall data and insight strategy.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working in insight, market research or a similar field. They will be confident with a range of data collection and analysis methods, have experience of deriving high-quality insights from quantitative and qualitative data, and be able to present these insights to non-specialist audiences in a clear, actionable way.
