Are you a passionate Community and Trusts Fundraiser ready to help grow vital income streams to empower communities in Africa by delivering safe water, sanitation, and hygiene to those who need it most?

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in driving income, building meaningful relationships with Individuals, Community Groups, Trusts and Foundations to support life-changing projects in rural Zambia and Mozambique.

Location: Remote (Shrewsbury based only) with a minimum of 5 mandatory meetings per year (includes overnight stays for 2-day meetings) at our office in Shrewsbury and occasional meetings elsewhere.

The Role

As Community and Trusts Fundraiser, you will be at the heart of our community fundraising efforts while also taking ownership of your fundraising portfolio, focusing on maximising income from Community groups, Individuals, Trusts and Foundations (both UK and international). You'll build and manage your own portfolio of donors, create fundraising initiatives and try new approaches that inspire and encourage community fundraising. You will provide exceptional stewardship to secure ongoing support. Collaboration and adaptability across this small, yet impactful organisation is key, as is a passion for creating positive change.

Your Responsibilities:

· Develop and deliver engaging fundraising campaigns and activities for community groups and individuals.

· Create and manage a calendar of fundraising events and opportunities that engage and inspire participation from community groups

• Build and manage a portfolio of community supporters, trusts and foundations to maximise income and awareness.
• Develop a robust pipeline of funding applications, securing grants from trusts and foundations.
• Develop and nurture relationships with existing and prospective funders, delivering outstanding stewardship. 
• Organise and support community fundraising events, both in-person and online, co-ordinating event logistics, from kit delivery to stock management and ensuring everything runs smoothly and the success of the event is maximised.

Role Summary

Join our team and help us improve public sector food across the UK with our School Plates and new Hospital Plates programmes. We're looking for a passionate and driven Chef Trainer to support schools and hospitals in delivering healthier and more sustainable menus.

The programmes continue to go from strength to strength. Through School Plates, we currently support over a third of all UK local authorities, catering for more than 12,000 schools and feeding over 1.25 million children daily. To date, we have been responsible for swapping over 50 million school meals from meat-based to meat-free or plant-based. We're now expanding our successful model into the health sector with our new Hospital Plates programme, bringing the same positive change to patient and staff menus.

Are you a skilled chef trainer with a passion for improving public food? Can you match our ambition? You'll be using your culinary expertise to train catering teams in both schools and hospitals, provide menu advice, and get involved with recipe development and culinary education. You will also run cooking workshops for pupils in secondary schools, inspiring the next generation to get excited about plant-based food. You will also build and manage relationships with our catering partners, helping them deliver delicious and sustainable meals. This is a UK-wide role and will require travel to different sites.

Responsibilities

As our Chef Trainer & Programme Support, you'll be a key player in developing and delivering our School Plates and Hospital Plates programmes. You'll use your culinary expertise and passion for food system change to create resources, train professionals, and engage with our partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Recipe Development & Training: You'll co-lead the creation, testing, and development of new plant-based recipes for our school and hospital programmes, and lead on developing ‘grab-and-go’ and internationally inspired options for secondary schools. You'll also plan and deliver training sessions, including in-person and online workshops, and create e-learning courses for caterers.

• Programme Development & Support: Work closely with programme managers to develop and refine the strategy for our initiatives. This includes supporting pilot programmes, measuring their impact, and creating bespoke catering resources for our partners.

• Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Represent our organisation at events and in meetings, providing expert catering advice and information on our programmes. Collaborate with our communications manager to create engaging content, including recipes and videos for our website, e-learning platform and social media.

• Education & Outreach: Partner with our education manager to plan and co-deliver secondary school cooking workshops. These sessions will teach pupils basic plant-based culinary skills that align with the National Curriculum as well as inspire the next generation to choose plant-forward options and learn about the impact of their food choices in a positive way.

• Inspire Catering Teams: Your role is to build and maintain relationships with catering partners, providing expert catering advice and practical recipe suggestions. You'll work with them directly on pilot programmes, offering bespoke support to inspire positive menu changes. You'll also provide essential administrative support for our programmes and help create and deliver presentations to promote our work to a wider audience.

Job purpose
The Place-based Food Systems Manager will play a leading role in the development of The Food Foundation’s local policy and project work in 3 interconnected ways:

1.  Stimulating and supporting leadership in regions, cities, local authority areas and anchor institutions to take action to improve local access to affordable, healthy and sustainable food
2. Identifying the policy and food business levers which enable the emergence of more resilient local food systems which improve access to affordable, healthy and sustainable food in local communities

In the first instance, you will play a leading role in our place-based work in Kent and Birmingham, in particular focused on improving the health and sustainability of menus and business offerings through the promotion of beans, pulses and legumes. You will work closely with Birmingham City Council and The University of Kent, as well as local leaders, partners,
local authorities, policymakers and businesses. You will work closely with academic partners on UKRI funded research projects that support place-based interventions and local authorities in creating healthier more sustainable local food systems.

The successful candidate will also play a key role in our nationally focused policy and advocacy on healthy and sustainable diets, supporting a team working on public sector procurement, production (horticulture) and other food policy areas that intersect health, sustainability and climate. This will involve engagement with relevant DEFRA teams, as well as other NGOs
working in the sustainable diet space.

The role will work across both the Policy and Food Business Transformation teams at The Food Foundation, as well as on the health and sustainability policy asks across the organisation. The unique placement of the role, working on place based initiatives as well as with national policy and businesses, will help to bridge the gap and identify areas of synergy between national and local policy, and between national and local policymakers, as well as the role and opportunity
for food businesses in this area.This is a new role in an exciting new team at the Food Foundation, with scope to work with us in shaping the role’s priorities in the coming months.

We’re looking for confident and influential people who want to be at the heart of their local community looking for an opportunity to have control of creative merchandising within managing a Shelter shop. Do you have experience of managing a team whilst also empowering and motivating individuals? If so, then this could be the role for you at our Canterbury shop.

About you

You will need to be an active team player and be able to demonstrate how you’ve managed and motivated a team previously beyond expectations and experience of providing excellent customer service in a face-to-face role.

Have a good knowledge of recruiting and developing a diverse team and how you have supported and motivated teams to progress and how you would bring these skills into this position.

You will need to have good communication skills to engage with the local community to seek out new opportunities to increase the shops contribution to help further Shelter’s cause. You will develop your own and your teams’ interests in merchandising the shop attracting customers and continually develop yours and your team’s knowledge of Shelter, who we are and what we do.

Supporting over 750 children and nearly 1,000 families annually, Acorns Children’s Hospice is a vital lifeline for families across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire during unimaginably difficult times.

Palliative care for children aged 0–18 is delivered at Acorns’ hospices in Birmingham (serving Birmingham and Warwickshire), Worcester (serving Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and Gloucestershire), and Walsall (serving the Black Country and parts of Staffordshire and Shropshire), as well as in family homes and other community settings. This is a critical interim role combining operational delivery with a strategic review of their events fundraising programme. You will lead both delivery and transformation across owned and third-party events, ensuring income, return on investment and supporter experience are maximised.

As Interim Senior Events Fundraising Manager, you will:

• Lead a team of two Event Managers and two Event Officers, managing £400k income and £164k expenditure
• Oversee delivery of the Glow Walk, a flagship in-memory event with significant untapped potential
• Review the third-party challenge events portfolio (e.g. Great Wall, Sahara) and assess current formats such as Bubble Rush to decide where to invest, optimise or withdraw
• Work with the Associate Director of Fundraising to identify opportunities for growth, particularly in challenge events
• Manage relationships with agencies and suppliers
• Oversee use of their events platform (Enthuse) and CRM integration, recommending changes or alternatives if needed
• Provide monthly reporting to the Executive Leadership Team on income, KPIs and supporter engagement

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Experience leading teams delivering third-party, in-aid-of, challenge and owned events
• Line management experience, including managing managers
• A track record of reviewing and improving event portfolios for income, ROI and supporter journeys
• Experience working with agencies and suppliers to deliver high-quality events
• Familiarity with event platforms such as Enthuse and CRM systems
• The ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on delivery, including attending and supporting events

Elders Voice is a charity supporting older people in the London Borough of Brent. Our mission is to enable older people to live safely and independently in the homes of their choosing and lead happier and healthier lives. We do this by providing a variety of services and activities, including a Handyperson Service and a Day Centre.

The Handyperson Service is our flagship service; it’s been in existence for 35 years and is highly valued by the older people who use it. The service aims to prevent accidents in the home and enable older people to live safely by carrying out basic repairs and improvements, and the installation of small equipment such as grab rails, which support mobility. We are looking for a Handyperson Service Coordinator to oversee the Handyperson Service and be responsible for all aspects of facilities management at our premises in Kensal Green.

Handyperson Service

• Undertake all administrative tasks relating to the effective and efficient running of the Handyperson Service with meticulous attention to detail and record keeping.

• Promote service within borough and maintain relationships with Brent Adult Social Care, healthcare bodies and other statutory & voluntary sector organisations.
• Work with CEO in developing and expanding service.

Facilities Management

• Oversee all contracts related to Health & Safety and building maintenance.
• Carry out inspection of premises and flag areas requiring maintenance and repair.
• Ensure premises meets government regulations, health & safety standards and energy efficiency requirements.
