A little bit about the role 

The role will sit in the Chief Social Worker’s directorate alongside our admissions and support, curriculum and delivery teams. These teams achieve our mission through assessing participants eligibility and  suitability, ensuring they are registered with our university partner in a timely way and by designing and delivering world class social work  education and training. ​

The EDI Lead is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, programmes, and initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organisation. This role involves collaborating across teams and functions to ensure that EDI principles are integrated into all aspects of the work. They are responsible for fostering a culture of inclusion, holding people to account through knowledge and skills and create a brave space for challenging conversations.​

We are seeking a passionate and strategic leader with a deep commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. You will have a proven track record of driving impactful EDI initiatives across the charity, private, or public sectors, with the ability to influence and inspire others through your actions and behaviours. With strong emotional intelligence, you will understand the specific challenges faced by minoritised groups and be confident in holding challenging conversations to drive meaningful change.

The successful candidate will be a confident and influential leader who champions equity, diversity, and inclusion. Skilled in fostering accountability and inclusion, you will create a brave space for meaningful conversations while holding a clear line on EDI expectations.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Being a lead facilitator for reflexive spaces for colleagues running community spaces
• Providing outreach support for minoritised participants as needed
• Contributing to the review and design of our programmes in relation to EDI content
• Reviewing and consultation on all aspects of recruitment and admissions processes to ensure fairness and reduction in bias
• To be the lead anti discrimination advocate (ADAs) and facilitate regular group meetings to check in with the other ADAs

A little bit about you 

This role will suit an experienced EDI leader who is passionate about driving meaningful change and embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion across an organisation. The hiring panel will be looking for candidates who demonstrate a deep commitment to inclusive leadership, the ability to hold others to account on EDI expectations, and a strong track record of influencing change through collaboration. You will bring expertise in EDI frameworks and policies, along with the confidence to engage in challenging conversations and represent the organisation’s position externally.

In this exciting new role, you will support the delivery of our Individual Giving programme to help recruit and steward supporters through regular giving, lottery, payroll and cash giving programmes.

You’ll have a variety of responsibilities, from helping design and deliver learning initiatives to supporting evaluation and overseeing training administration. You should have proven success of designing, developing and delivering inclusive and engaging training resources and interventions, both face-to-face and virtually. You should also have strong skills in communication, organisation and evaluation. You should have experience in sourcing learning and development solutions, building relationships and in applying learning theory.

You will play a vital role in influencing activities within the equity and equality workstream by promoting equity of access and experience in end of life care.

Main responsibilities:
- Lead specific areas of policy and influencing work focused on inequities in end of life care, under guidance from the Senior Policy Manager.
- Analyse research and policy trends, develop clear and inclusive policy recommendations, and produce high-quality outputs (briefings, consultation responses, blogs, reports).
- Build relationships with decision-makers, community organisations, and stakeholder networks to embed the voices of underrepresented groups in all policy work.
- Help ensure lived experience is central to our recommendations by co-producing projects with affected individuals and communities.

Role - The primary focus of the role is to provide good quality information and advice to VCSE organisations based in Redcar & Cleveland that will support their development needs, including (but not limited to) key areas such as governance, funding, marketing etc. The post holder will have a key role in the development, delivery and evaluation of the Enhance service training offer.

Background (Summary)

Enhance is the newly funded VCSE infrastructure support service in Redcar and Cleveland made possible through the collaboration of a number of funders to fill a gap in local provision. 

Lloyds Bank Foundation, Rank Foundation, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, Tees Foundation and the Woodsmith Foundation have provided three years of funding and commissioned MVDA to develop and deliver a VCSE infrastructure service (Enhance) in Redcar and Cleveland.

Enhance will provide practical support to VCSE organisations based in the Redcar and Cleveland area who deliver services to local people and communities. 

The service model for Enhance is based on three key areas:

Improvement – Providing practical support through an information and advice service.  This will include for example advice on governance, funding, policy and practice

Growth - The development and delivery of a comprehensive training programme for all VCSEs in Redcar and Cleveland

Influence - Work to support the building and development of relationships; collaborative work across the VCSE sector and cross-sector partnerships

Ascension Community Trust (ACT) is a much-loved community-based charity in Custom
House, Newham. We deliver Newham District Foodbank (a Trussell foodbank run by ACT
and two community partners), welfare benefits advice, immigration advice, ESOL classes,

Volunteer Management

• Develop and implement a volunteering programme aligned with Sarcoma UK's organisational objectives.

• Act as the initial point of contact for volunteer recruitment and onboarding, before handing over management to the relevant staff member (e.g. fundraising event organiser or project lead) depending on the role.

The Involvement and Engagement team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is responsible for delivering a wide portfolio of activities to increase understanding of dementia, engage and involve the public and people affected by dementia with research and promote the work of Alzheimer’s Research UK. The team work closely with people affected by dementia to gather their insights to shape our work and campaigns. 

The team is part of the Information and Involvement department. The department’s mission is to improve understanding of dementia and the diseases which cause it and encourage and support the public and people affected by dementia to get involved in research.

The manager leads on the development of a wide range of activities, such as coordinating meetings with the Lived Experience Involvement Group; the online public engagement programme; and managing the Inspire Fund community engagement grant scheme. The role has responsibility for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the impact of the public involvement and engagement programme. In addition, the role holder will identify improvements and undertake strategy development and implementation working with the Head of the Department to deliver this.

Reporting to the Head of Information and Involvement, the Manager has two line reports, and the team works closely with colleagues across the Policy, Communications and Involvement Directorate, notably the Information Services and Policy teams. The team also has regular interactions with people affected by dementia and supports the wider charity in engaging effectively with supporters about dementia research. They work closely with colleagues in the Research and Partnerships directorate, and Volunteering and Events teams to deliver activities.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. This role will be known internally as Involvement and Engagement Manager

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Lead the Involvement and Engagement team

· Work with the Head of Information and Involvement to plan and implement involvement and engagement programmes to support the development of the charity’s goals.

· Implement the Involvement and Engagement strategy for Alzheimer’s Research UK, ensuring a varied portfolio of opportunities, with a focus on reaching diverse and underserved audiences.

· Line manage two Involvement and Engagement Officers, setting objectives, with responsibility for their personal growth and development, and that of the team.

Implement the involvement of lived experience across the organisation

· Lead the management of the charity’s Lived Experience Involvement Group, overseeing the recruitment, onboarding and ongoing engagement of volunteers with lived experience of dementia.

· Lead and manage the planning of involvement activity, including a calendar of events and activities for the lived experience group, to include regular online meetings, in person events, and opportunities to contribute to ARUKs strategic initiatives and campaigns.

· Responsible for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of involvement activities, ensuring volunteers are aware of their impact, communicating impact of involvement both internally and externally to the organisation.

· Responsible for championing the value and impact of involvement across the organisation, seeking new involvement opportunities and working towards embedding involvement in key areas of the charities work.

· Work closely with and support the Research Involvement Manager with implementing involvement of lived experience in research programmes, also with external requests for support with involvement in research.

· Ensure processes to manage a database of lived experience volunteers are robust and up to date and that policies and procedures are adhered to.

Deliver public engagement programmes and activities

· Deliver the Inspire Fund community engagement grant scheme, managing the application and awards process, monitoring ongoing grants, supporting grant holders and reporting on impact.

· Oversee the planning and coordination of the public engagement events programme, including supporting the Involvement and Engagement Officer with delivery of the online public engagement series and other events.

· Working closely with colleagues in the Research team support and facilitate dementia researchers to deliver public engagement activities, providing guidance and resources as required.

· Work with the Involvement and Engagement Officers to maintain existing engagement resources and promote their use across the charity. Develop new engagement resources that can be used across a variety of events.

· Support colleagues across ARUK to build skills and confidence talking about dementia and research, and how to engage with their audiences.

What we are looking for:

· Graduate or equivalent level of education in biomedical sciences, science communication or similar.

· Experience of discussing and communicating health or research matters to the public.

· Experience of working with people affected by a long-term health condition and supporting their contributions to organisational activities or research.

· Experience of leading outreach, engagement and involvement/or involving the public with research.

· Strong experience of planning, coordinating, and delivering involvement and engagement events.

· Relevant project management experience.

· Experience working in an involvement, engagement, or public facing role or similar.

· Experience of working across partnerships, building strong working relationships (internally and externally).

· Strong and effective written and spoken communication skills, ability to tailor to lay audiences.

· Good knowledge of the research process and how the public can play a part in that process.

· Knowledge and understanding of engagement and involvement methods drawn from academia, health research or the charity sector.

· Ability to identify and develop creative opportunities for public engagement and involvement and discussion emanating from scientific research.

· An eye for creativity and innovation, and ability to grow personal network of professional contacts and create new opportunities for engagement and involvement.

· Excellent organisational skills; the ability to manage a number and variety of tasks to multiple deadlines.

· Ability to communicate appropriately with people affected by dementia and their families.

· Willingness and ability to travel independently in the UK occasionally and to work outside of regular office hours when needed.

· A confident, friendly and professional attitude; would feel at ease representing the charity to a range of audiences.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.

Delivery of Spear Foundation

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that Spear Trainees are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme

Training the Graduate Coach

Personal qualities we're looking for:

CRM and Customer Data Lead

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated CRM and Customer Data Lead to join the Data Services Team.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Data Services, the CRM and Customer Data Lead will ensure that the charity get the most out of the CRM data so that it can deliver insight driven selections and segmentations for the whole organisation, supporting and collaborating with colleagues to reach and engage with customers in a compliant and customer-centred way.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Oversight and continuous improvement of CRM data.
• Selection analysis and visualisations that support product owners to have a deeper understanding of our customers.

• Oversight and continuous improvement of Third party and Internal Data imports and exports with a focus on increasing the knowledge and utilisation of the organisations ETL tools such as Blender to provide business continuity and consistent, clean data quality.

• Managing, developing and using a CRM database to meet organisation needs.
• Change management projects to support an organisation in better use of data and insight.
