Key responsibilities

This role will lead the delivery of the Trase communication strategy over the next 5 year strategic period.

Working as part of the Impact team within Trase, alongside those engaging directly with companies, governments and financial institutions, you will lead a small team to deliver strategic communications - press, media, content production, events, social media, promotion and publicity, including outreach to multipliers and amplifiers. 

You will drive communications to support the engagement work of the Trase team, making tactical choices to best deliver the overall mission of the initiative.

You will bring your experience of developing communications strategies on global issues working with multiple partners to find and tell the story of Trase, what we can learn from the data, and what this means for the world.

You will be part of a leading, multinational, multidisciplinary, and multilingual team of experts, working across the Trase initiative to help ensure the delivery of this exciting program of work is effective, manageable and fun. The Community Engagement Officer will play a crucial role in delivering the Dementia Community Champions (DCC) programme for Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK). Launched in 2022, the programme aims to disseminate dementia information to underserved communities who face barriers in accessing health and research information and are at higher risk of dementia. The programme to date has focussed on South Asian communities, working in Leicester, Nottingham and Derby. In 2026 the programme will expand into Black African and Black Caribbean communities in East London. With the programme expanding, the Officer will have significant scope to support, shape and develop this important area of work.

Dementia Community Champions are volunteers trained by Alzheimer’s Research UK to deliver events in their communities to increase knowledge and understanding of dementia, brain health and dementia risk factors. They also emphasise the importance of taking part in research in their local communities.

They do this by, attending training sessions run by the team, holding events to share dementia information, sharing leaflets and other resources, speaking to local people about their experience of dementia and signposting them to appropriate support.

In the role as Community Engagement Officer, you will assist in the recruitment, training and support of the volunteers to deliver their activities and events. We are looking for a confident and friendly, organised and proactive person to join the team. You’ll be part of the Information & Involvement department, whose mission is to improve understanding of dementia and the diseases which cause it and encourage and support the public and people affected by dementia to get involved in research. The department forms part of the Policy, Communications & Involvement directorate and works closely with colleagues both within the directorate and across the charity.

This is a 12-month FTC.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Day to day support of volunteers

· Assist in the recruitment and management of DCC volunteers, ensuring a smooth onboarding process and volunteer journey.

· Act as a point of contact for DCC volunteers, providing guidance, support, and timely responses to their enquiries.

· Empower volunteers by helping them build skills and confidence to talk about dementia and dementia research, and to engage effectively with their audiences.

· Plan, facilitate, and deliver monthly online meetings. This includes coordinating with volunteers, arranging logistics, addressing queries, and liaising with internal stakeholders.

Comprehensive admin support

· Provide comprehensive administrative support for the programme, including assisting volunteers in organising and evaluating their events.

Support the delivery of Dementia Community Champions in underserved communities.

· Act as a champion for DCC across Alzheimer's Research UK, effectively communicating the importance, successes and challenges of the programme. Share insights and support colleagues across ARUK in their efforts to reach underserved communities.

· Collaborate with the DCC Manager to produce ongoing evaluation of the programme. Proactively suggest new initiatives and continuous improvements.

What we are looking for:

· Science graduate or equivalent level of education (biomedical or biological subject) or equivalent level of worked experience.

· Experience of discussing health or research with the public.

· Experience of communicating complex health information in a simple and accessible way.

· Awareness of current topics in dementia and dementia research

· Understanding of GDPR and information governance.

· Demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive administrative support for programmes or initiatives.

· Experience of working with and supporting volunteers.

Main Purpose of the Post

To lead the strategic planning, development, and delivery of Learning through Landscapes’ (LtL) communications and marketing activities. This role will ensure effective communication with key audiences, grow engagement, and strengthen the LtL brand, positioning the organisation as the leading voice in outdoor learning and play. The Strategic Communications Lead will oversee all communications activities, manage a growing team including the Digital Marketing & Operations Manager, and ensure alignment with organisational goals and the communications strategy.

Specific Duties

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the development and implementation of the LtL communications strategy in line with organisational objectives.

• Align communication efforts with the key goals of growing audience engagement, generating leads, and enhancing the charity’s visibility and credibility.

• Act as a brand guardian, ensuring all communications adhere to LtL’s brand guidelines and key messaging.

Team Management

• Line-manage the growing Communications team, including the Digital Marketing & Operations Manager, providing guidance, support, and oversight of their responsibilities, including social media, website, and email marketing activities.

• Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the communications team, and work closely with other departments to align communications with organisational priorities.

• Provide regular performance reviews and professional development opportunities for direct reports.

Campaigns and Content Development

• Plan and oversee the creation of compelling and engaging content for digital and traditional media platforms, ensuring alignment with key messaging.

• Work with the Digital Marketing & Operations Manager to deliver multichannel marketing campaigns, including organic and paid campaigns across platforms such as social media, Google Ads, and email.

• Lead on the development of innovative approaches to audience engagement, including storytelling, case studies, and evidence-led communications.

• Lead the delivery of the Outdoor Classroom Day campaign, including coordinating media interest, collaborating with global NGOs and internal teams on campaign themes, and managing data collection, evaluation, and related communications.

External and Internal Communications

• Serve as the first point of media contact for LtL, building relationships with journalists, influencers, and partners to amplify LtL’s reach.

• Advise and support internal teams on communication best practices, integrating communications planning into the early stages of project development.

• Collaborate with partner organisations to deliver cohesive and impactful communications plans for joint projects.

• Strengthen internal communication processes to ensure organisational cohesion and awareness of communications initiatives.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Improve systems for measuring and reporting communications impact, including audience engagement, conversion rates, and campaign effectiveness.

• Provide regular reports to senior management, using data to demonstrate progress and inform future strategies.

• Conduct ongoing analysis of audience behaviours and preferences to refine communication efforts.

General Responsibilities

• Stay informed on trends in digital marketing, communications, and education to keep LtL’s approaches current and impactful.

• Support organisational goals by contributing to cross-functional projects and initiatives.

• Ensure all communications comply with GDPR and safeguarding policies.

• Represent LtL at relevant external events and networks as needed.

What you’ll need:

• Experience of leading communications or marketing at a strategic level, preferably in the charitable or education sectors

• Proven ability to develop and implement multi-channel communications strategies that grow engagement and support organisational goals

• Experience of managing staff, fostering collaboration, and supporting professional development within a communications team

• Strong track record in campaign planning and delivery, including digital marketing, content creation, and media engagement

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and storytelling

About the role

The Data Analyst works within the Data Team, using and transforming data from multiple sources to produce high quality, digestible reports, dashboards, and bespoke pieces of analysis for our fundraising and alumni colleagues.  You will also lead on any benchmarking projects, both the submission of data and the interpretation and presentation of their findings.  Being a clear communicator of often complex information, you will deliver insight into the performance of our various fundraising and engagement programmes, giving colleagues the information they need to continually innovate and improve.

In addition, you will have a raft of technical skills and approaches that will enable you to efficiently transform source data from multiple data sources ready for import into our Dynamics CRM system.

You will be keen to learn and develop, embracing new technologies and ways of working, and will work with the Data Team and others across the department to improve the quality of the underlying data we all rely on.  You will also work closely with others in the team, IT colleagues and other users across the organisation to shape future CRM features.

You will be required to liaise and work collaboratively with other teams on new fundraising projects and initiatives, thereby ensuring a joined-up approach, that future reporting requirements can be met, with learning shared and insight retained.  You will often need to manage multiple requests and prioritise your workload, albeit we have adopted an Agile approach to development. 

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. P&A has a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time in the office. Typically, this equates to two days per week, but we’re very happy for colleagues to be in more frequently if they so wish.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1. Knowledge of data insight, analysis and reporting techniques
2. Significant experience of working with a fundraising or marketing CRM in a technical, database management or report writing capacity
3. Strong SQL skills
4. Experience of building reports and dashboards using Power BI or other data visualization tools
5. Ability to create data transformations using tools such as Power Query, Power Automate and/or VBA macros
6. Experience of manipulating large or complex datasets
7. Ability to communicate often complex and technical information in a clear and digestible way to a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external
8. Experience of managing conflicting deadlines and multiple priorities

Desirable criteria

Purpose of the Job: 

The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for leading and managing all fundraising activities to generate income for the Sanctuary. The role involves developing corporate partnerships, organising events, and overseeing digital fundraising efforts. The post-holder will also be responsible for delivering effective, measurable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives for business supporters, managing fundraising campaigns, and ensuring financial targets are met. 

This role is key to increasing corporate and community engagement, growing fundraising channels, and enhancing the Sanctuary’s digital presence to maximise income generation. The Head of Fundraising will work closely with internal teams to coordinate activities, monitor performance, and identify new opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Corporate Fundraising & Partnerships 

· Develop and maintain a pipeline of corporate donors, securing new partnerships while managing existing relationships and ensure that these relationships are properly managed through regular contact and progress reports. 

· Build strong relationships with business supporters to secure both general and restricted funds. 

· Develop and deliver corporate volunteering days, team-building activities, and fundraising opportunities. 

· Oversee the logistics, including venue bookings for corporate and external events, increasing revenue through targeted business engagement. 

· Review contracts, letters of agreement and other correspondence for current corporate partners. 

Fundraising Strategy & Income Generation 

· Work closely with the senior management and the Board to develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy. 

· Propose and test new fundraising opportunities across corporate, digital, and community fundraising streams.

Digital Fundraising & Social Media

Monitoring & Reporting 

·Regularly review fundraising performance, preparing reports for senior management and Board. 

· Maintain accurate donor and corporate records, ensuring data is up to date and GDPR compliant. 

General Duties

Asylum Link Merseyside (ALM) is seeking a transformational leader to take this highly respected local charity to its next phase of development. This is an exciting opportunity to lead, shape and grow the organisation, a leading charity within the asylum seeking sector in Merseyside. ALM was established over 20 years ago and has grown significantly in reach, scope and prominence during this time. The organisation offers an unparalleled range of services and expertise for asylum seekers in Merseyside. It is a vibrant and dynamic charity required to show versatility and respond to the ever-changing demands of the policy landscape and the increasingly complex needs and challenges within the asylum sector. 

The CEO is responsible for the overall leadership, management and strategic direction of the organisation. They will work closely with the Board of Trustees, staff, and key stakeholders to ensure the charity fulfils its mission and achieves its goals to provide support to some of the most vulnerable people in society. They will lead a highly committed team of staff with dedication, leadership and creativity, underlined by deep empathy and understanding for those going through the asylum system. The CEO will act as an ambassador for the charity and play a key role in maintaining and further raising its profile, as well as ensuring financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Lead on the development and implementation of the strategic plan to further strengthen ALM’s impact.

Operational Management:

- Oversight of ALM’s physical resources including premises and equipment. 

Governance, Compliance and Risk Management: 

- Work closely with the Board of Trustees to ensure effective and transparent governance including the development, review and implementation of policies.

- Take the necessary actions to ensure the charity complies with all legal and regulatory requirements and work with the Trustees to Identify, analyse and mitigate organisational risks. 

Fundraising and Financial Management: 

- Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to provide long term sustainability. 

- Maintain and build relationships with trusts, foundations and other donors that support the work of the charity.

- Lead financial planning and manage the budget, ensuring effective use of resources and financial accountability.

External Representation: 

- Build strong relationships with key external partners, including local authorities, government agencies, and third sector organisations. 

- Act as the public face of ALM, champion the charity’s cause, develop key messaging and promote its mission to a wide audience, including dealing with challenging and sensitive contexts. 

Key Skills & Experience Required:

• Leadership: Previous experience as a CEO or senior manager in the third sector is highly desirable. Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, set a clear vision, develop and implement strategies, implement change and drive organisational success is required.
• Fundraising Expertise: Experience in fundraising, partnership building, and donor relations.
• Financial Management: Strong understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and financial management.
• Governance: Familiarity with UK charity governance and compliance requirements.
• Problem-Solving Skills:  Ability to deal positively with challenges, be pro-active, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrate resilience.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. High level of emotional intelligence, ability to engage and work with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
• Knowledge of the Refugee and Asylum Sector. Experience of working in the asylum and refugee sector is desirable. Empathy and understanding for those going through the asylum system is essential.
