The fundraising team at Pact plays a crucial role in securing vital income to sustain our operations, develop our capacity, fund essential services, and maintain our independent voice. Fostering strong relationships across the charity, they receive support from me, our CEO Andy Keen-Downs, and our Senior Leadership team.
As our current Head of Fundraising moves on to a CEO position at another organisation, we seek an exceptional individual to build upon her achievements. The role involves overseeing a team of five:
• Development Manager (Individual Giving and Parishes)
• Senior Development Manager (Trusts and Foundations) alongside a part-time Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser
• Senior Development Manager (Major Donors)
• Senior Partnerships and Engagement Manager (Corporate Partners)
The successful candidate will empower and guide their team to sustainably push forward with fundraising strategy and delivery, nurturing relationships with trusts, foundations, corporations, high net worth individuals, Catholic networks, parish communities, and individual supporters. We seek someone with a proven track record in fundraising, leadership skills to inspire their team, and managerial abilities to foster a cohesive team spirit and support personal growth.
In addition to leading and developing the fundraising team, the Head of Fundraising will be part of our collaborative Executive Team, working closely with colleagues in Communications and Engagement, Business Development, Finance, and across our Services regions and specialisms. They will also receive support from our Head of Faith in Action, who reports to the CEO, and collaborate with our Chair of Trustees, Professor Jim McManus, and other trustees. The successful candidate will be required to provide legal advice across areas of law including but not limited to information law, intellectual property, contracts, procurement, trusts, charity, litigation, insolvency, subsidy and state aid, public law and judicial review.
In addition to providing substantive advice, the role requires a Senior Solicitor to be able to research and upskill on new areas of law quickly. Further, it is expected that the Senior Solicitor will use his or her legal knowledge to improve the Fund’s internal processes and precedents, and ensure that the Fund complies with statutory and regulatory frameworks at all times.
The bulk of the Senior Solicitor’s workload will consist of autonomous matters and legal queries. These will need to be answered in a timely manner. Further, the Senior Solicitor will also work on larger scale projects where the opportunity arises.
The Senior Solicitor will be working in a team of 6 within the AID team and 14 within the wider legal team. The role does not include any line management responsibilities.
Experience working in a fast paced in-house or private practice environment would be ideal, as would experience dealing with a range of clients, and experience with public law or public bodies. Knowledge of subsidy law and/or procurement law would be beneficial, as would experience gained in the UK.

We are looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer to join the Start Network within our Humanitarian Department to support the ongoing MEAL activities for the Start Funds to enhance its performance, learning, and accountability.

Start Network is an independent charity made up of more than 80 aid agency members across five continents, including international, national and local organisations.
Our aim is to deliver more effective emergency aid, harnessing the power and knowledge of the network to make faster and better decisions to help people affected by crises. We advocate for radical change in the global aid system so that the world can deal better with the humanitarian challenges of today, and of the future. Our work focuses on three areas to change the system:
- Localisation – shifting power to those closest to the front line to enable more effective and appropriate responses.
- New forms of financing – providing fast, early, and dependable funding, to help communities to become more resilient to crises.
- Collective innovation – testing new ways of working and sharing learning and expertise to build a more effective humanitarian system.
The Start Funds MEAL Officer will work with colleagues within both SCUK and Start Network. Previously (until May 2019) Start Network and Start Funds and Programmes were hosted by Save the Children UK (SCUK) since its creation in 2012. The position sits within Save the Children UK as a Grant Custodian on behalf of the Start Network supported by a Grant Custodian Agreement (GCA) which describes the roles and commitments of each entity.

About the role
The Start Network funds have a robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) portfolio to strengthen evidence-based learning, performance and overall accountability towards the people affected by or at-risk of crises, donors, members, and partners.
Reporting to the Crisis Financing MEAL Lead, the Start Funds MEAL Officer will play an important role to support the ongoing MEAL activities for the Start Funds to enhance its performance, learning, and accountability.

Performance

- Contribute towards the identification and implementation of diverse and innovative approaches to MEAL.
- Coordinate with the Communications and Membership Engagement teams to develop and widely disseminate learning outputs produced by the MEAL team.
Accountability
- Deliver and enhance Start Funds' quality, accountability and monitoring practices to members, partners and affected populations by conducting Learning Exchanges, reviewing project report forms and carrying out project assessments
- Manage Learning Grant processes and outputs in coordination with MEAL Advisor
Knowledge
- Contribute towards continuous improvement of technical quality, processes and outputs of Start Funds MEAL including, but not limited to, the development of methodological guidelines, MEAL tools and approaches.
- Produce and support various thematic research, reviews, studies and learning products according to the MEAL work plan.
- Support capacity building activities for the Start Funds Programme team and the wider and membership for relevant themes such as data quality, evidence-based programming etc.
- Support the MEAL Advisor in business development activities including the scaling-up of the Start Funds.
About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Previous experience delivering MEAL for humanitarian or development programmes
- Excellent data analysis skills
- Proven experience of embracing new approaches, technology and ways of working
- Experience of using qualitative and quantitative analysis software
- Experience of using Salesforce or other customer relationship management (CRM) system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present data and evidence in a user-friendly form and to stakeholders at different levels
- Demonstrable experience of strong teamwork capabilities and collaboration
- Undergraduate degree, ideally in social science, research methods, humanitarian response or related fields
- Language skills - working proficiency in Spanish

As the Account Manager you will contribute to and effectively support our global programme partnerships work, to achieve Save the Children's strategic objectives.

- Secure support from colleagues from across the organisation to contribute to our engagement with our regular and new accounts
- Ensure increased quality and consistency in the design, delivery and reporting of all projects/awards across the account and SCI. This includes:
- Supporting the wider account team on the development and delivery of donor specific capacity building plans.
- Working closely with the Donor Compliance team to identify risks, mitigating measures and setting adequate monitoring mechanisms to support wider award management processes.
- Developing common standard approaches to quality and compliance across the account. Ensuring partner regulations and expectations are well understood among parties involved.
- Engaging with account members, where necessary, and SCI in generating learning and best practices.
- Ensuring strong knowledge management systems are in place.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and embed our partnership and management approach, to maximise the benefit of the team's work to the wider organisation and movement.
About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Skills in partnership management and market assessment in relation to overall positioning with partners.
- Experience, interest and knowledge of current thinking and future trends and thorough understanding of international development issues.
- Proven experience of providing creative and innovative approaches in developing new initiatives that contribute towards partnership objectives.
- Strong management behaviours, including external relations, partner focussed-approaches, delivery of results, strategic purpose, negotiating & influencing.
- Experience in relationship management, working with donors, trusts and foundations, or equally demanding partners.
- Experience of undertaking industry trend and donor specific research, finding relevant, reliable, and up to date information quickly.
- Excellent coordination and relationship building skills in forming and maintaining both internal and external relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to present complex information in a clear and succinct manner, ability to analyse trends and report on key financial metrics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including senior level briefings and presentations, both for internal and external audiences with appropriate attention to detail.
- Ideally knowledge of and experience working directly with Governments and other key actors such as multi-lateral institutions e.g. their structure and operations, priorities (geographic, sectorial, thematic, at policy & advocacy levels).
- Ideally a good understanding of project design, quality programming and effective delivery.
- Knowledge of and experience working directly with institutional donor partners

Reporting to the Head of Programme Funding, you will work across the fundraising team, supporting programme set up and reporting, in line with key funding criteria and SOS Children’s Villages monitoring frameworks. You will hold oversight of the portfolio of programmes being funded by SOS Children’s Villages UK, ensuring the UK based team have the tools, resources and processes to monitor programmes, in partnership with our international colleagues. You will manage reporting timelines, supporting your colleagues to ensure effective delivery of programme reporting, according to the needs of SOS Children’s Villages UK and external donors. We are looking for an experienced youth practitioner to manage our youth team and work within the enact team to develop a range of engaging activities and training opportunities for young people with particular focus on those aged 10 to 19 in the Enfield community.
The Senior Youth and Community Worker needs to be a passionate, enthusiastic and professional. They will lead the youth team to create community-based opportunities for the whole family, in accordance with the ethos and values of Oasis. The Senior Youth worker will also support the enact team to develop and be involved in community cohesion projects involving children, families and youth.
