The Philanthropy Manager will join our recently established Philanthropy and Partnerships (P&P) team to help us develop and nurture a range of corporate and philanthropic relationships. Amaze is a Sussex-based charity that supports families with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Amaze’s fundraising is growing. We used to fundraise mainly through trusts and foundations. We still receive a large portion of our income from statutory funders (such as councils and the NHS). In the last 18 months we have begun work to increase our income from other sources. We are launching a big and exciting art-based fundraising project that will take place in autumn 2026. In this project we will work closely with artists, businesses, schools and members of the public. We are looking for a fundraiser to help us deliver the project, working within and alongside our fundraising and marketing team.

About the job

As our Community and Events Fundraiser, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks. You will help plan fundraising events, organise our presence at community activities, and support our wonderful volunteers. A big part of your job will be building strong relationships with schools and community groups, encouraging them to get involved and supporting them in their fundraising efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for organising events, liaising with schools, youth groups and artists, supporting volunteers and supporting community fundraisers. You will be within the Fundraising and Marketing team at Amaze, which currently has 4 members of staff, led by the Head of Fundraising and Marketing. You will be a mix of office and home-based, with some days at events and activities within Brighton & Hove.

Exciting opportunity at Age UK for experienced new business professionals to secure and foster new corporate partnerships! We're seeking two passionate Senior Business Development Executives to join the new partnership side of our Partnership and Philanthropy team. You'll be an excellent relationship builder with new business/fundraising experience along with strong administrative and organisational skills. You will always go that extra mile to deliver on your own opportunities as well as supporting key activities within the team helping secure sector leading partnerships that deliver income and impact for the Age UK Network and older people. As part of our sector and thematic approach to partnership development the post holders will get to work across different industries and areas including financial services and Age International.

We operate a hybrid-working model, a blend of home and office working. This role will include working from our London office (EC3N 2LB) - currently once a week on a Thursday and may involve regular travel, including occasional overnight stays.
Due to external facing relationship based nature of the role, more frequent attendance in London may be required.

Travel costs to the London office are the responsibility of the postholder and are not covered by the charity.

About the role:
As the Head of Philanthropy you will lead and inspire a team dedicated to generating and growing income from high-value donors, corporate organisations, and charitable trusts and foundations.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver the Philanthropy Plan in line with the Organisational and Fundraising Strategy to maintain and grow sustainable income from major donors, corporate partnerships and trusts and foundations
• Through innovation drive the acquisition and development of high-value donors and funders to deliver sustainable growth.
• Collaborate across income streams to maximise income generation, consistency of messaging and donor experience.
• Development and presentation of reports for Directors, Board of Trustees and the Fundraising Committee.
• Develop and actively manage dashboards for monitoring, reporting and forecasting.
• Oversee the income pipelines for all philanthropic income streams, conducting regular prospect research and ensuring systems and processes are in place to identify potential high value supporters, enabling seamless transition across income streams.
• Drive the delivery and implementation of highly targeted and strategic partnership development, stewardship and cultivation plans.
• Oversee the due diligence process for all high value donors.
• Champion the use of Beacon (our central relationship management system) across the team, ensure consistency of use, accurate reporting and data informed decision making.
• Set objectives, and KPIs for the team and monitor performance alongside learning and development plans. Review performance and manage any issues in line with RDA UK policies and procedures.
• Manage a pool of high value donors and have accountability for related personal income targets
• Oversee the restricted income process to ensure all projects adhere to full cost recovery principles and are deliverable while also providing a compelling ask.

Person Specification
Essential

• Proven experience and understanding of major partnership fundraising including trusts & foundations, major donor and corporate fundraising techniques
• Experience and evidence of first-class relationship management techniques and donor care
• A demonstrable understanding of the written and contractual agreements involved in partnerships, ideally within a charity
• Proven track record of securing significant major gifts
• Experience of effective reporting to board level ensuring compliance, transparency and accountability are achieved
• Significant experience of managing high performance teams
• Experienced in creating strategies, annual plans, and budgets, and adapting them as required
• Proven track record of working successfully in targeted and high pressure environments
• A demonstrable track record of deploying effective fundraising tactics and high-level donor cultivation
• Experience of undertaking due diligence processes within a complex organisation.
• Strong working knowledge of GDPR and fundraising regulations
• Experienced in CRM system use and best practice.
