Changing Faces is seeking a motivated Health Professional Engagement Officer to join our Services Team. This exciting part-time role takes the lead in our professional liaison work to educate health and social care professionals regarding the impact of visible difference and raising their awareness of the important work of the charity.
Main purpose of the role
The main purpose is to develop and maintain relationships with HCPs to:
- increase awareness of the impact of visible difference and educate them in how to effectively support patients
- ensure understanding of the Changing Faces service offers and how to access these
- encourage them to sign up to regular updates and news and stay engaged with us.
This will be done by building and retaining relationships with HCPs via NHS departments, organisations and societies within the field of visible difference; finding ways to keep HCPs on our mailing list engaged and interested in our news; and by providing information, meetings, education and talks both in person and online.
We are looking for
- A proven track record of engaging with Health Care Professionals (HCPs) at all levels, in a range of disciplines and building relationships
- Confident, engaging and experienced presenter to a range of audiences – clear, persuasive and authoritative in spoken communication, both online and in person
- High standard of written English, able to write information and presentations clearly, with an understanding of the needs of the HCP audience.
- Proactive, dynamic and innovative in approach, with an ability to be creative, self-supporting, meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and sensitively with a wide range of senior stakeholders and service users.

About Changing Faces
Changing Faces is the UK’s leading charity for everyone who has a mark, scar or condition that makes them look different (a visible difference). Being different in a society where there is such pressure to look a certain way is extremely difficult.
People with visible differences are vulnerable to isolation, loneliness, social anxiety and low self-esteem. They face staring, unwanted attention and even bullying and hate crime. They experience lowered expectations in education, problems getting work and stereotyping in the media. This can have a devastating, and lasting, impact on their wellbeing. Adults often come to us, having never spoken to anyone about the psychological impact of their visible difference before.
Changing Faces provides unique practical, social and emotional support for people affected by visible difference; we challenge discrimination and campaign for a world that respects difference.
Health care professional (HCP) engagement contributes to two areas in our strategy:
- Greater understanding and awareness among HCPs of the impact of a visible difference on mental health and wellbeing
- Increased awareness of Changing Faces services and increased referrals from HCPs.

This role is part-time (0.6 FTE, 22.2 hours a week), ideally spread across 4-5 days and requires a highly flexible, motivated individual, with a passion for presenting and building relationships around the UK. We are looking for a start date around mid-August 2025.

The Opportunity
We’re seeking an energetic, commercially savvy Interim Commercial Director to join us for approximately nine months. You’ll provide strategic leadership to our Commercial Team, manage our thriving e-commerce operation (equivalent to a £30m etail business) and cultivate and deepen long-term partnerships with our FMCG and retail supporters, both new and those who have worked with us for many years. Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Lead, coach and motivate the Commercial Partnerships team to deliver outstanding results, including achieving 2025 targets and deliverables
- As a key member of IKD’s senior Leadership Team, contribute to the operational and strategic direction of the organisation, and attend regular meetings of IKD’s Board of Trustees
- Provide dynamic day-to-day leadership presence, role-modelling IKD’s values and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and results-focus
Strategic Commercial Relations
- Accountable for IKD’s relationships with its major commercial partners, ensuring successful collaboration and delivery of mutually-agreed targets and plans.
- Work with the Heads of New Business and Partnerships to develop and implement Commercial Team plans, enabling the delivery of all commercial targets and success criteria
- Maintain a close watch on the needs of our charitable network, and identify a pipeline of current and new donated products in response
- Lead the Head of Partnerships and Head of New Business in building account plans for current and future product donors. Develop and drive trading strategy, including delivery of partnerships with affiliate schemes
- Ensure excellent customer service to maximise the potential for product donations, including the development of bespoke proposals, high-quality impact/progress reports and any other engagement collateral required
- Attend networking and other events relevant to IKD, building relationships with influencers and those able to support IKD
E-Commerce
- Accountable for delivering revenue targets through IKD’s e-commerce platform
- Work with the Operations Director and E-Commerce & Digital Marketing Manager to oversee the customer journey, aiming to increase conversion, retention and renewal
- Support the E-Commerce Manager to develop and deliver the workplan for all corporate sites
- Work with leadership team to deliver data-led analysis of our performance, both on commercial performance as well as marketing and business development
Marketing
- Support and guide the Marketing team, to ensure successful delivery of IKD’s calendar of high-impact marketing and advertising campaigns, including social media
- Oversee the internal and external use of branding guidelines – ensuring consistency in the look and feel of all collateral materials, events and campaigns – protecting IKD’s corporate identity and positioning
- Monitor the effectiveness of all marketing initiatives and activities, providing ROI and engagement measurements
- Lead the marketing team in developing ambitious plans to celebrate IKD’s 30th anniversary in 2026
Skills/experience you will bring:
- Ability to work at both a strategic and operational level, being able to see the bigger picture while also being comfortable with detail and data, and ‘getting things done’
- Demonstrable sales and business development experience, having held a lead role in growing commercial revenue
- Strong commercial acumen, with excellent numeracy, analytical and negotiating skills

Action on Disability (AoD), founded in 1979, is one of London’s leading Disabled People’s Organisations. The Action on Disability Employment Service is setting the agenda for disability employment across London with great results. We provide management, job coaching and employer engagement for over 50 young people with learning disabilities each year across our 6 internship sites.

Background
Action on Disability is the supported employment service partner on a number of supported internships for young people with learning disabilities around West and South London. They are looking to recruit a number of job coaches to support interns and graduates of these programs in their jobs.
The Post
The purpose of the job is to provide coaching, support and guidance to young people with learning disabilities (17+) within their workplaces. You will support interns/graduates to become independent in their roles and provide the necessary coaching, training and encouragement to enable them to succeed. You will work closely with the employer to ensure they are supported and can confidently manage and train their intern/employee once your support has been withdrawn.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To carry out a detailed job analysis of potential jobs / work placements
- To carry out detailed job matching of service users and jobs
- To comprehensively learn jobs across different sectors – not restricted to but potentially including – Catering, Customer Service, Administration, IT and Retail
- To implement training/coaching plans which will enable the candidates to fulfil their roles to employer standards
- To conduct regular reviews to ensure candidates are progressing within their roles and to identify and meet new support needs
- To build up natural support within employers and taper off one 1:1 job coaching over time

What will I be doing?
This role will support the delivery of several activities within our portfolio of activities on climate change, the environment, and mental health. The four main areas of work that the Senior Officer will be responsible for include:

Leading work with national partners (50% of post)

Integration of people with lived experience (hereafter referred to as PWLE) across the portfolio (25% of post)

Developing our advocacy on the intersection of air pollution and mental health (15% of post)

Developing our advocacy on the intersection of biodiversity loss and mental health (10% of post)
National level work (50% of post)
A key component of the current project will be to support national partners in a subset of countries globally (approximately 6 countries) to advocate for action on climate change and mental health. The final set of countries is yet to be defined but will likely include one country per WHO region and one country from the Small Islands Developing States. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

Lead in the selection of national partners in each country. This will include supporting the running of a competitive process to select one civil-society organisation based in each country to conduct the work

Strengthen the capacity of national partners to work on climate change and mental health (e.g., via training to national partners to be delivered by the Senior Officer), if required

Support national partners in advocating for the integration of mental health into climate policies, including but not limited to Nationally Determined Contributions, National Adaptation Plans, Heat Health Action Plans etc.
