Job Profile

CAFOD’s work in the Catholic community of England and Wales is to inspire and resource Catholics to participate in the Church’s mission to overcome poverty and injustice in partnership with CAFOD.

The main purpose of this role is to inspire and increase the participation in CAFOD’s work of Catholic parishes, schools and the broader Catholic community within the Plymouth Diocese. CPCs are accountable for delivering CAFOD’s annual participation plans locally across England and Wales. As well as growing the number of parishes and schools participating to address global poverty and express solidarity with our global family, we aim to increase the breadth of their engagement, participation.

This will be accomplished partly by the recruitment and support of a team of committed, inspired and well-resourced volunteers working in parish and school communities to enable and equip Catholics to give, act and pray. The post reports to the Community Participation Manager for Wales & West Region (The dioceses of Lancaster, Liverpool, Salford, Shrewsbury, Wrexham, Cardiff-Menevia, Clifton, Birmingham, and Plymouth)

The Community Participation Coordinator (CPC) is part of a regional team working across a group of dioceses and whilst having a primary focus on one diocese, is responsible for the results of the regional team plans in relation parishioner and school participation and volunteer recruitment and retention.

The role will be home based, although the post holder will be mobile and flexible to meet volunteers, clergy and other stakeholders and contribute at events as required.

The role requires a willingness to be adaptable to support the work of the regional team, deploying skills, knowledge and at times activity in other parts of the regional team area. Key Responsibilities

Delivering participation plans

• Share accountability for delivery of annual participation plans for the region (a group of dioceses) with a primary focus on one diocese, and for fundraising, education, campaigns, and other targets, as delineated by the participation plan for the region. It is usually anticipated that the role will have an 80% focus on parish communities and a 20% focus on school communities
• Contribute to the development and delivery of a regional plan across a number of dioceses in support of the annual participation plans and appropriate for local contexts
• Achieve targets for increasing parishioner and children & young people participation primarily through recruitment and retention of volunteers and working with clergy, religious, diocesan and parish advisers and administrators etc.
• Monitor and share information around community participation and recruitment, activity, development and retention of volunteers

Managing volunteers

• Be the local volunteer manager in a specific diocese or dioceses

Progress to Change is a Leeds-based charity that operates two Independent Approved Premises (IAPs): Ripon House, a 22-bed facility for women, and Cardigan House, a 26-bed facility for men. These facilities serve individuals released from prison on licence, primarily those assessed as high risk, under the supervision of probation practitioners. The charity's mission is to assist and rehabilitate some of the most vulnerable members of society focusing on providing structured support and purposeful activities aimed at resettlement within the community. Progress to Change operates in close partnership with the Ministry of Justice and the Probation Service, and is a member of the National Approved Premises Association (NAPA).

The Lead Practitioner will play a key role in supporting the Approved Premises (AP) Managers in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and rehabilitation opportunities for residents. This includes overseeing staff support, organising shift coverage, coordinating training, and maintaining strong relationships with external partners. The Minster Centre is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee that provides training in psychotherapy and counselling and an affordable therapy service.

It was founded in 1978 as the first Integrative psychotherapy and counselling training in the UK and is a leading psychotherapy training institution. Now based in Queens Park, NW London, it runs training ranging from open access introductory courses to post-graduate degrees validated by Middlesex University. The Minster Centre caters for around 300 diploma and MA students each year. It is registered with the Office for Students.

The Minster Centre Psychotherapy & Counselling Service (MCPCS) also provides a safe, affordable and professional counselling service to people over the age of 18 who are experiencing a range of difficulties. We strive to offer a high-quality and affordable Psychotherapy and Counselling service to the community and to offer our trainees an experience underpinned by our values.

The Minster Centre Psychotherapy & Counselling Service Administrator will work with the Clinical Services Manager and one other Administrator to ensure the smooth running of the service and support in its continuing development.

Role purpose

Enquiries

• Dealing with phone and email enquiries including potential MCPCS clients, existing clients, trainee therapists and placement providers, etc.
• Emailing Assessment Application Forms, assessing suitability of enquirer for service – asking for additional help when required from the Clinical Services Manager.

Administration

• Providing strong administrative support to the Clinical Services Manager.
• Providing regular detailed data information to the Clinical Services Manager, including reports from Access Database and future Charitylog data systems about functionality of service.
• Inputting and updating student data spreadsheets and client spreadsheets relating to client session fees, providing reports and liaising with students, finance team and clients to ensure all session fees are up to date and reporting on any missed payments weekly.
• Administer MCPCS processes and procedures for instance by designing forms and records formats, ensuring they are available to students, supervisors and clients. Ensuring the service has paperwork available to operate effectively: Assessment packs; Allocation packs; student forms.
• Inputting data from paper records and managing electronic records. Keeping data management up to date and archiving files as and when appropriate.

About the role

As the Project Officer for Dartmoor, you will deliver the Bike It Moor project, which forms part of the Dartmoor’s Dynamic Landscapes (DDL) programme. You will work in partnership and collaboration with other the DDL partners, who are also delivering projects as part of DDL, to accomplish shared objectives and targets. The DDL programme is led by Dartmoor National Park Authority (DNPA) and made possible by a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.  Thanks to National Lottery players, we are able to offer this exciting new role.

You will engage and work with selected schools and their wider communities in the project areas, developing and delivering fun, engaging and innovative activities and events. These will be inclusive and promote and enable all forms of active travel (walking, cycling, scooting and wheeling) to school. 

You will plan and deliver practical skills (like cycle and scooter skills sessions, bike maintenance and led walks and rides), information events (such as assemblies, drop-in sessions, pop up stands), competitions, incentive programmes and classroom sessions. You will also plan and deliver day and overnight cycling and walking experiences, giving pupils the opportunity to explore and enjoy the local green landscape, immerse pupils in the natural heritage of the area.

You will report directly to the local Project Manager and will recruit, train and support local volunteers on the project, as well as engaging with project officers across the South region and the UK.

Due to the nature of the role, a full DBS is required to be completed by the successful person. Candidates should be based within the geographical area with regular travel expected.

About you

You should have experience of working with young people from a wide variety of backgrounds and be able to adapt your approach to meet varying needs. You must demonstrate evidence of planning and delivering engaging and interactive group workshops and activity sessions, as well as experience of events planning.

You will have experience of delivering successful behaviour change projects, ideally with a physical activity focus, and have an understanding of community based or environmental projects.

You will be a skilled communicator, with the ability to connect with different audiences ranging from children, parents, school staff and the wider community.

Key responsibilities

Executive Support:

• Provide sophisticated calendar management for the Chief Executive.

The Role

As a Homicide Team Leader, you will ensure the provision of high-quality services, maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, and provide strategic leadership to promote and develop services.

As a Homicide Team Leader, you will:

This is an externally funded post which will be focused on opening new provision and supporting existing provision in order to reduce waiting lists within specific funding areas.
