The ClementJames Centre is a North Kensington-based award-winning charity supporting approximately 2500 young people and adults every year. Our vision is of a community where everyone gets the opportunity to realise their potential. We work towards this through our purpose, which is to support young people, adults and families to achieve their ambitions by providing high-quality services that meet individual needs. 

ClementJames has been able to establish a prominent position in the community thanks to a skilled and dedicated staff team and Trustee Board. We currently have a Board consisting of 9 individuals who have a wide and varied skill set, but most importantly a commitment to helping make ClementJames the best that it can be. As a member of the Board, you will be at the heart of this work and we hope to appoint someone whose values are aligned with those of ClementJames. 

The Coroners' Courts Support Service (CCSS) is a registered Charity whose trained volunteers give emotional and practical support to bereaved families and other witnesses attending an inquest.

We need volunteers to provide emotional support and practical help to bereaved families, witnesses and others attending Inquests at Coroners' Court. Our volunteers at court also provide help and assistance to the Coroners' Officers, as and when required.

We are looking for reliable, supportive people with excellent communication skills. A mature and calm attitude is needed in order to be able to talk to people during a sometimes bewildering and emotional experience. Volunteers must be willing to undergo a period of observations and shadowing, as well as attend a 3 day training course. A minimum commitment of one day (9:00am - 5:00pm) per fortnight is asked for. Training and mentoring is provided and travel expenses to the court are reimbursed.

New volunteers should possess good communication and listening skills and the ability to empathise with people they support.

We want to ensure that volunteering with us does not feel too daunting, so the exact tasks might

vary depending on your circumstances. However, some typical tasks may include:

· Asking people you know who might be willing to have a collection box in their business

· Approaching local businesses to display the boxes and collect loose change from their customers

· Building and maintaining relationships with your box holders to inspire loyalty and encourage people to continue giving year after year

· Collecting the boxes in your area as and when required and taking to your YBTC contact

Founded in 2003 and originally named Andrea’s Gift and later Brain Tumour Research and Support

Across Yorkshire, Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity (YBTC) is Yorkshire and Humber’s leading

brain tumour charity. Offering practical, financial and emotional support to both adult and child

brain tumour patients, together with their families.

We fund brain tumour research in Yorkshire; we hope this research, dedicated to identifying new

approaches to the discovery and treatment of brain tumours, will improve outcomes for patients.

At YBTC we are a small team who are growing to meet the needs of those affected by a brain

tumour in Yorkshire. Around 15 new cases of primary brain tumour are diagnosed in the region

every week.

Are you passionate about families of disabled children having a voice? Do you have 10 hours a month to lead our charity?

Reading Families’ Forum is a small local charity with an experienced Trustee Board and our current Chair is retiring.

The Forum's role is to ensure that families of children with disabilities and/or additional needs can participate fully in the development of services within the Reading Local Authority. Help us make sure that services reflect families' needs.

The post holder will lead the Trustee Board and manage our 2 part-time staff.

We are the local parent carer forum and are part of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums, who provide training and support to the individual forums.

We are looking for friendly, empathic volunteers to run our pet food bank, helping more animals stay with their families. The food bank is at Starbucks in Stroud town centre from 10am on the third Thursday of the month.

What you'll be doing:

Costs for pet insurance, food, and vet bills have soared over recent years, and every day we receive calls from people no longer able to afford their pet's care. To try and help keep animals in their homes with their own people, we run a pet food bank to provide people with dog or cat food.

You'll talk to people about their animals, offer support and hand out food. There's no means testing and food is available to all who ask. We will provide all you need to run the food bank including the food, leaflets and charity shop vouchers.

What you'll need:

• A friendly, non-judgemental manner

• A good listener, able to talk to others in a sensitive way

• A desire to help people and their pets

The Role of our Charity

Our charity mission is to help overcome loneliness and isolation by providing sheltered housing that promotes independence, but where the individual can seek some support to live a healthy lifestyle.

We are a growing and developing Abbeyfield Society who provide excellent rental accommodation in 14 houses across the Wessex region. The aim is to attract older people who can live independently in co-housing and join in with two home cooked meals a day, which are shared with other residents.

The Trustee Role

All our trustees are volunteers who bring a wide range of expertise, knowledge and wisdom to the Board, however as we develop and grow to ensure we have a sustainable future for our residents and keep on top of governance and compliance, we are looking for two new positive trustees with a range of skills and aptitude towards finance or marketing or regulation in the social housing or community engagement and networking with other partners. We want to create a more diverse Board.

Time Commitment

The Board meet in person 4-5 times a year in the Wessex region with interim online meetings including the following subgroups:

To help trustees keep connected with those we serve, we encourage visits to the houses to meet the residents and staff so that quality is always first and foremost

Role Title: Advice and Information & Signposting Volunteer 

Weekly Hours: Minimum 4 hours per week

Project overview: 

The Information, Advice & Guidance (A&G) Service sits within our Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) team. It provides residents with accurate information, advice and signposting, helping people to find the right support, at the right time, while ensuring safe and consistent service delivery. 

This is a non-crisis service. Volunteers are not expected to provide counselling, befriending, or personal opinions. Instead, volunteers help callers by listening empathically, providing factual information from approved sources, and signposting to the most appropriate services under the guidance and supervision of the Referral & Access Lead (RAL). 

Mind in Kingston is a local charity supporting people with mental health issues and campaigning to raise awareness of mental health in Kingston and surrounding areas. We are affiliated with National Mind but operate independently across the Borough of Kingston upon Thames. 

Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring the accessibility and effectiveness of this service. We welcome volunteers from all walks of life — whether or not you have lived experience of mental health issues. You will receive structured training, ongoing supervision, and be part of a supportive and inclusive team that values your time and contribution. 

Main purpose of the role: 

• To provide confidential, accurate, and consistent information and signposting to people contacting Mind in Kingston’s A&G service by phone, email, or web enquiry. 

• To offer empathic listening and practical information within defined role boundaries. 

• To help individuals access the right service or source of support, internally within Mind in Kingston or externally through local and national organisations. 

• To ensure all enquiries are recorded accurately using the web-based enquiry form and handled in line with data protection and safeguarding policies. 

• To escalate all risk or safeguarding concerns immediately to the Referral & Access Lead. 

Tasks will include: 

• Answering incoming telephone calls, emails, and online enquiries during allocated shifts. 

• Providing information and signposting based on verified sources such as Mind in Kingston’s signposting directory and local service guides. 

• Logging all enquiries accurately using the online enquiry form. 

• Conducting call backs as directed by the Referral & Access Lead. 

• Escalating any safeguarding, crisis, or risk concerns immediately following Mind in Kingston’s escalation protocols. 

• Researching and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of local and national services. 

• Participating in regular supervision, debriefs, and team meetings. 

• Maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and clear boundaries at all times. 

Boundaries and Role Parameters 

To ensure safe and high-quality service delivery, volunteers must: 

• Not provide counselling, therapy, or befriending. 

• Not give personal opinions or advice — all responses should be factual and guided by verified resources. 

• Not manage crisis situations independently any indication of risk or crisis must be escalated to the Referral & Access Lead immediately. 

• Work only within designated service hours and communication channels. 

• Follow data protection and confidentiality policies at all times. 

This ensures volunteers are supported and protected, and that all service users receive safe, accurate, and appropriate information. 

What you will receive in return: 

• Training in skills that will include mental health awareness and boundaries. 

• Training in adult safeguarding and local procedures. 

• Training for any other skills as identified by yourself and your supervisor. 

• Regular check-in with your supervisor, reflective supervision, and managerial support. 

• An opportunity to learn new skills and develop existing ones while being a part of a supportive team at Mind in Kingston. 

• Reimbursement of reasonable expenses. 

• Professional references upon completion. 

What we expect from you: 

• Commitment to a minimum of 6 months volunteering.

Maidstone Homeless Care is a well-established charity supporting homeless and vulnerable people in the Maidstone area . We run an active day centre, busy food bank and a small residential unit supporting homeless people. 

We have one formal evening meeting each month . The role of trustee is a voluntary role and consistent support is available from the trustee group as well as appropriate training.
