40% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard - many of these children fall behind with reading simply because they lack the opportunity to practise.
Chapter One is a small but growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. Rape Crisis England & Wales works in partnership with three of our member centres to deliver the 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line. We lead on the digital infrastructure of the service, including the management of a Cloud Contact Centre and various internal systems used by Support Line operators and managers. The focus of this role is to manage and continually improve these digital products, working across the partnership to ensure that products meet the needs of the people that use them.
