We are the Lincs Mid, NE and Lincoln Branch of the RSPCA. Our Branch rehabilitates and re-homes animals rescued by National RSPCA Inspectors, as well as taking in animals from members of the public who can no longer care for them. We have three charity shops as well as other fundraising activity and local partnership to raise funds for our animal care activities.
We are a passionate and ambitious team seeking a new Chair of our Board. We are currently 9 Trustees with a wide range of experience. As Chair, you will lead our monthly committee meetings as well as AGM. We are hands on as a board, with a great team of staff and volunteers who deliver our core activity.
If the Chair role isn't for you, we also have opportunities on our Board to take the lead on our Charity Retail Operations or Health & Safety. We already have Trustees with specific expertise in e.g. HR and finance, and would love you to join us if you have experience in either charity retail management or health & safety.

Finance Trustee - Citizens Advice
Citizens Advice South Lincolnshire is seeking a trustee with financial experience to help shape the future of our high-performing advice charity.
With offices in Grantham, Spalding and Stamford, plus outreach centres across the region, we support a population of 225,000 people. Last year, we helped 14,000 clients with 60,000 issues and secured over £7 million of additional income for them. We are here for everyone to help people move on with their lives.
As a trustee, you will join a well-known, respected charity, influence strategy, strengthen governance and contribute to meaningful change. This is an opportunity to share your expertise with other professional, dedicated trustees, gain valuable experience, build on your leadership and strategy skills, and increase your employability. Previous Board experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
You will guide the Board and the Chief Executive Officer on the key assumptions and financial implications of budgets and plans. You will use your financial knowledge and understanding to oversee the financial management of the charity and advise the Board.
You will monitor the charity’s financial performance and support the CEO and financial team in areas such as budgeting, clear and accurate financial reporting and financial compliance. This is an opportunity for you to:

Trustees don’t need specific qualifications, but we expect all trustees to have

● experience of working in finance, accounting and/or audit
● experience in charity finance, SORP, or nonprofit financial management
● familiarity with financial software, and/or

We are looking for a new independent trustee who can bring fresh perspectives and objective judgment from outside our immediate membership to join our very committed board. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of charity law and regulation.

Chair of Trustees role:
You will be chairing the Board of Trustees, ensuring that we have minimum representation required for decisions to be made, keeping the board aligned in decision-making, ensuring all minutes are recorded and that all decisions by trustees are made with the appropriate context provided.

About Us:
Millimetres 2 Mountains Foundation (M2M) is a charity dedicated to helping individuals rebuild their lives after experiencing physical or emotional trauma. Founded by former professional rugby player Ed Jackson and his wife, Lois, following Ed’s life-changing spinal injury, M2M uses the power of adventure, nature, and community to support people on their journey of recovery.
At the heart of the charity lies the M2M Development Programme - a bespoke, holistic support system tailored to each beneficiary’s unique recovery journey. Through one-to-one mentorship, a nurturing community, and the transformative power of the outdoors (culminating in life-changing mountain expeditions abroad), M2M empowers individuals to rediscover purpose, rebuild confidence, and move forward with lasting resilience. We take on eight new beneficiaries each year, supporting up to 24 individuals at any one time. Guided by our ‘inch-wide, mile-deep’ philosophy, we focus on depth of impact over scale, ensuring each person receives the tools, encouragement, and care needed to create life-long change. This includes access to grants for physiotherapy, psychotherapy, job retraining, and any other support essential to their growth. Everyone is met exactly where they are, with a personalised plan that reflects their goals, challenges, and potential.
Alongside our core programmes, M2M runs Together Outdoors - a community-based initiative that harnesses the healing power of nature and connection through mental health walks led by trained volunteers and Life Coaches, offering safe, inclusive spaces for honest conversation, emotional support, and personal growth. In 2026, growing and deepening the Together Outdoors community and network is at the heart of everything we're building - and this year we've taken a significant step forward with the launch of a new one-year support pathway, designed for individuals rebuilding their mental health after significant physical or psychological trauma.

Job Description
The Chair will hold the Trustee Board and Executive Team to account for the Charity’s mission and vision, providing inclusive leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring that each trustee fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity. The Chair will also support, and, where appropriate, challenge the Co-Founder & Charity Manager and ensure that the Board functions as a unit and works closely with leadership within the charity to achieve agreed objectives. He or she will act as an ambassador and the public face of the charity in partnership with the Co-Founder & Charity Manager. Help us to build out a patron-pathway to maintain and grow our wider base of support in a meaningful way for our donors, sponsors and partners.
Principal responsibilities:
Strategic leadership
• Provide leadership to the charity and its Board, ensuring that the Charity has maximum impact for its beneficiaries and wider community.
• Ensure that Trustees fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the Charity
• Ensure that the Board operates within its charitable objectives, and provides a clear strategic direction for the Charity
• Ensure that the Board is able to regularly review major risks and associated opportunities, and satisfy itself that systems are in place to take advantage of opportunities, and manage and mitigate the risks
• Ensure that the Board fulfils its duties to ensure sound financial health of the charity, with systems in place to ensure financial accountability
Governance
• Ensure that the governance arrangements are working in the most effective way for the Charity
• Develop the knowledge and capability of the Board of Trustees
• Encourage positive change where appropriate - address and resolve any conflicts within the Board
• Appraise the performance of the Trustees and the Board on an annual basis
• Ensure that the Board of Trustees is regularly refreshed and incorporates the right balance of skills, knowledge and experience needed to govern and lead the charity effectively, and which also reflects the wider population
• Work within any agreed policies adopted by the charity
External Relations
• Act as an ambassador for the cause and the charity
• Maintain close relationships with key stakeholders and with key influences

Efficiency and effectiveness

Relationship with the Co-Founder & Charity Manager

• Support the Co-Founder & Charity Manager, whilst respecting the boundaries which exist between the roles
• Ensure regular contact with the Co-Founder & Charity Manager and develop and maintain an open and supportive relationship within which each can speak openly about concerns, worries and challenges
• Liaise with the Co-Founder & Charity Manager to maintain an overview of the Charity’s affairs, providing support as necessary

We are seeking a Treasurer/Trustee for The Historic Towns Trust, an educational charity that focuses on inspiring future generations to understand, appreciate and preserve their urban heritage. The Trust works in partnership with local historians, geographers and archaeologists to publish historical maps and atlases that give everyone a sense of belonging and custodianship. Our unique multi-layer mapping techniques reveal a new way to visualise the complex development of Britain’s towns, enabling us to better analyse the impact of events and communities over time. We use our research to develop teaching materials for schools and to engage the public with free talks, empowering them with the knowledge and confidence to influence future decisions about their built environments.
Among our Trustees we have some of the leading academics in the fields of urban history and archaeology, architects, and business people, who share a passion for maps and history. While the organisation has no central office and Trustees are spread across Britain, we meet frequently, usually but not exclusively in London.
The Trust has expanded significantly in recent years, increasing the number of maps and atlases we produce and developing educational and community outreach programmes to increase the impact of each map for the town it serves. The number and value of transactions we undertake (raising funds for projects, selling maps, taking on our first employee) has grown considerably and we are seeking a new Trustee to fill the role of Treasurer, helping us to re-shape the organisation for the future.
The Role
The Historic Towns Trust has the following financial activities
1. Income from our endowment
2. Income from sale of maps and atlases directly, through our website and through third party distributors
3. Income from grants and donations to HTT towards core activities
4. Holding of money raised for individual atlas and map projects
5. Expenditure on administration
6. Quarterly VAT filing
7. GiftAid collection and accounting
8. Annual audit
Currently three sub-committees (Projects, Communications and Resources) report to an Executive Sub-Committee (“ESC”) that reports to the Board of Trustees. Each of these meets quarterly, with two Board meeting held in person in June and December, usually in London.
In the light of the recent growth in activities we are reviewing our operating structure. This may include
· A new Educational sub-committee
· Splitting Resources between Administration and Sales/Marketing
· Recruitment of a paid part-time book-keeper
· Recruitment of an office administrator
The Treasurer will sit on ESC and will be responsible for the financial administration of the Trust and its reporting obligations to HMRC and the Charities Commission. They will report to the Board on the financial position of the Trust on a quarterly basis, and lead deliberations on major investments. They will lead the audit.
As a Trustee they will have the opportunity to be engaged in our atlas and map activities, attending events and launches and contributing in any other way to the development of the Trust.
The Candidate
We are looking for an experienced, preferably qualified, accountant who has a passion for cartography, for urban history and for education.
