WaterAid’s Global Safeguarding Team works collaboratively across the organisation to develop understanding and awareness, embed good practice and ensure safeguarding is a priority in all aspects of our work.  

About the role

As our Global Safeguarding Director, you will oversee all areas of safeguarding for the WaterAid federation, including the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, safeguarding children and safeguarding adults at risk.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the development of strategies and plans to embed safeguarding protection into the work of WaterAid and our partners.
• Work closely with Chief Executives, senior leaders and board members across the WaterAid federation to strengthen safeguarding governance.
• Oversee the continued development of WaterAid’s global network of safeguarding champions at member, country and team level.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding across the federation, and equip others to do the same.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• To be an inspiring leader. Able to communicate the importance of safeguarding to multiple stakeholders, with a track record of having contributed to the development of safe and trusted organisational cultures.
• Significant experience of working in or leading a safeguarding function within an international setting with extensive experience of working with, and leading on, protection, safeguarding and accountability standards, and of implementing policy and practice.
• Experience of working with a range of stakeholders in a development context and implementing safeguarding initiatives with partners and at a community level.
• Strong knowledge of UK and international legal frameworks and experience of working with regulatory bodies.

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• The ability to speak languages spoken in countries where WaterAid works, particularly French, Portuguese and Spanish.
• Experience of working in the international development sector and of living and working in one of the countries where WaterAid has programmes.

By providing purposeful activity to prepare prisoners to successfully reintegrate into the community, we are working to improve prisoner’s skills and well-being. This is key to reducing recidivism. 

The Role: 

The Fundraising & Events Officer will provide administrative assistance with grants and donor fundraising and the logistics for events. Working alongside the Development Manager and the Founding Director you will support identifying and managing donor opportunities, and the research and support of applications to Trusts and Foundations. It is a diverse and varied role and is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to build a solid foundation in fundraising and events. 

This is a results-driven role with the postholder driving planned income growth by establishing, enabling, and inspiring events, building relationships and maximising fundraising efforts. As this is a people facing role, you will be working with supporters over the phone, online, in writing and face to face, with the aim of helping donors receive the ultimate supporter journey. 

You will require excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to network, build relationships and influence both internally and externally, with the confidence to speak publicly about the work of the charity. Fine Cell Work’s office in Battersea is run by a team of 15 staff (FTE) supported by 191 volunteers, 116 of whom teach in prisons (volunteer figures for 2024). 

Fundraising and earned income are fundamental requirements for FCW, and all staff are involved in fundraising and earned revenue activities. 

Principal Accountabilities for the Core Job: 

1. Ensure all the necessary administration to support fundraising including recording all donations and potential contact information on Salesforce, thanking and reporting to all event attendees and donors. 
2. Assistance in the planning, setting up and logistics of all events including attending events as required (includes occasional out of office and out of hours commitments). 
3. Establish and maintain donor contacts on the database, and, with the Development Manager, coordinate donor communication and planning. 
4. Prepare donation quarterly reports and report post event on financial and potential contact outcomes and lessons learnt. 
5. Build and support our individual giving Champions programme through events and regular communications. 
6. Work with the Founding Director in research to support grant applications and assistance in making applications to small grant–making organisations. 
7. Prepare information for reports to Trusts and Foundations and major donors, creating a fundraising dashboard to include uploading and managing reporting and grant deadline dates on Salesforce including the establishment of a reporting procedure for existing grants makers. 
8. Working with the Development Manager, ensure there is sufficient and appropriate fundraising events to meet the annual donations targets through events. 
9. With the Executive Director and the Development Manager, support the logistics for event committees including assisting in identifying potential Chairs and committee members and working with the event hosts. 
10. Support the Development Manager to expand FCW’s fundraised revenue through developing event sponsorship opportunities and other forms of event revenue (ticket sales, raffles etc). 
11. Supported by the Finance Director, set up and manage the annual budget for expenditure and income from events. 
12. Any other duties as required from time to time to support the work of the charity.

The role of Council is to lead on the GOC’s mission to protect the public by upholding high standards in eye care services.  The Council is composed of six lay members (including the Chair) and six registrant members (i.e. registered optometrists and dispensing opticians).  At least one member of the Council must work wholly or mainly in each of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.  One Council member acts as a Senior Council Member whose role is to carry out the Chair’s appraisal as well as provide a sounding board for the Chair and serve as an intermediary for Council members, Executive and stakeholders as necessary. 

The successful candidate will contribute to Council by exercising oversight, ensuring effective corporate governance, and making high-level policy decisions. They will be able to operate strategically and impartially; listen, communicate, and influence effectively; exercise judgment; and inspire confidence and support amongst our stakeholders. 

Remuneration and time commitment

Council members are remunerated in accordance with our member fees policy (£13,962 per annum plus reasonable travel and subsistence expenses).  The member fee includes time for reading and preparation.

The appointed member will be expected to commit approximately 2-3 days per month.  Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices at Level 29, One Canada Square, London, E14 5AA. There are occasional online catch-up meetings - these are currently scheduled on a Tuesday evening every 6-8 weeks, from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.

By leading on prospect research, philanthropic analysis, and network mapping, the postholder will help ensure ZSL’s fundraising efforts are focused, proactive, and aligned with our organisational priorities.

Following the implementation of a new CRM system, the Prospect Research Manager will also play a key role in embedding best practices in data management and prospecting across the team. From crafting research tools to spotting new funding opportunities, this role will directly support the success of ZSL’s fundraising programmes and, ultimately, our mission to save wildlife around the world.

This is a part-time role, with the option of working either 2 days (15 hours) or 3 days (21.5 hours) per week. We are happy to offer flexibility across the working week, and the specific days and schedule can be agreed with the successful candidate to ensure a good fit for both the individual and the team.

There is an expectation to attend the office once per week as well as any required in person meetings.

The full-time equivalent (FTE) salary for this role is £36,750, which equates to a pro-rata salary of:

£14,700 for 15 hours per week

£21,045 for 21.5 hours per week

 Key responsibilities: 

Prospect Research & Pipeline Development: Conduct high-quality, targeted prospect research to identify and support new fundraising opportunities across ZSL’s priority income streams: institutional fundraising, individual giving, and corporate partnerships.

Strategic Prospect Development: Collaborate with the leadership team to shape and implement a robust prospect development strategy that aligns with ZSL’s organisational goals and long-term fundraising ambitions.

Insightful Donor Intelligence: Create detailed research briefings, biographies, and insight reports to support donor cultivation, stewardship, and strategic engagement planning.

Tools, Processes & Compliance: Support the continuous improvement of prospect management tools and systems, ensuring data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to relevant codes of practice.

About You

• Experience in wealth screening, capacity assessment and affinity analysis to provide propensity scoring.
• Knowledge of data protection regulations and how it applies to prospect research and development (e.g. GDPR and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice).
• Experience of successfully implementing a prospect development strategy to support increasing and diversifying income.
• Proven experience in identifying and conducting detailed research on high-net-worth individuals, trusts and corporates for the higher education / charity sector.
• Evidenced track record of supporting fundraisers with insights in fundraising to achieve six or seven figure donations.
• Experience of using databases within fundraising for prospect management and reporting and making appropriate data management recommendations (Tessitura would be an advantage).
• Knowledge of the principles of philanthropic analysis, relationship mapping and connections, and what makes a good fundraising prospect.
• Demonstrable ability to engage, share expertise, and appropriately challenge senior stakeholders, including CEO with strong interpersonal skills and discretion.

Salary

£35,500 per annum FTE (£28,400 pro rata). This will rise to £36,400 per annum FTE (£29,120 pro rata) from 1st September 2025.

London based candidates will also receive £2,600 London contribution (pro rata). The pro-rated amount is £2,080. This will rise to £2,700 (pro rata) from 1st September 2025. The pro-rated amount will be £2,160.

Annual leave 

Full-time staff entitlement, pro-rated for part-time staff: 33 days (inc bank & public holidays) + 3 closure days (two in December and one in July) + additional length of service entitlement (one day per year of service, up to 5 days) 

In order to be eligible for the role, applicants must:

• Have achieved a grade C/ grade 4 or higher in GCSE Maths and English/ achieved National 5s or Standard Grade at Credit level (grades 1-2) in Maths and English (or equivalent).

Job Purpose

You will work closely with the Head of Safeguarding, the Safeguarding team and the Senior Operations Team to provide a safe environment for all young people and families across our centres and programmes. With the support of the Head of Safeguarding and Operations, the Safeguarding Manager will contribute to the development of safeguarding policies, training, procedures and guidance to promote the welfare and protection of children and young people. Alongside the safeguarding team, you will manage the

About the PVRI
We’re a small charity with a global reach and an important purpose: to reduce the burden of pulmonary vascular disease (PVD) - a serious condition that can lead to heart damage and trigger symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, fatigue, poor growth, fainting, and light-headedness. PVD can reduce both quality of life and length of life, but it isn’t widely recognised or well-understood.

Our aim is to improve clinical care, education, and PVD research. We are seeking a Marketing Officer to help grow and service the charity's profile and international membership, increase the value of our membership offer, increase our income generation, work with the team to run successful events, and deliver our e-learning programmes. You’ll help ensure our members are informed about the latest developments and learning opportunities, and they’re valued for their contributions to the PVRI. No two days are the same. One day, you might be writing content for our website and social media channels, and the next, you might be welcoming respected speakers and attendees from over 30 countries to our scientific webinar.

We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail. You’ll need to create successful marketing plans and grow our membership. You will also bring excellent organisational skills and the ability to co-ordinate high-quality webinars.

The Senior Manager, HIV Services Coordination and Team Lead plays a key leadership role in supporting and enabling METRO’s HIV service managers and project leads to deliver high-quality, inclusive, and impactful services. Reporting to the Head of HIV or Director of Services, the post-holder provides day-to-day oversight of contracts, projects, and workstreams, offering hands-on supervision and management support across the HIV domain.

The post holder will act as a key link between delivery teams and the charity’s strategic leadership, helping staff navigate funder requirements, reporting deadlines, and project milestones. They will support the development of funding proposals, engage externally with commissioners and partners, and ensure METRO’s HIV services are aligned with good practice and funder expectations.

METRO Charity runs various HIV prevention and support services across London and the Southeast. These services include Pan London and local HIV prevention services, HIV support services including advice and advocacy and family support, HIV peer mentoring and counselling services. Many of these services are delivered in partnership with agencies such as the GMI Partnership consisting of Spectra, Positive East, and our partners such as The Love Tank and African Advocacy Foundation.
