Every day, The Shakespeare Hospice makes a difference to the lives of local people living with a life-limiting illness, and to those who matter most to them. We are now seeking a new Trustee to help us shape the future of this vital work.
Based in Stratford upon Avon, we offer services across South Warwickshire and the surrounding areas. Our aim is to ensure that people living in our community with a life-limiting illness, and their family and friends, are supported with the care and compassion they deserve.
We are now looking for a new Trustee who shares a passion to serve our community and who can help us ensure that we are able to deliver our services today, tomorrow and for always. This is a voluntary role, working alongside fellow Trustees, the Senior Leadership Team and our Chief Executive to ensure the Hospice continues to thrive in today's challenging environment.

The time commitment is around one day per month, including four Board meetings, at least one strategic planning day, the AGM and participation in one of our committees. Trustees also enjoy attending Hospice fundraising events and engaging with our local community.

Role Summary

Our trustees bring strategic oversight and direction; to ensure Causeway is true to its purpose and effective in its strategic objectives, whilst ensuring all governance responsibilities are fulfilled. The role of Treasurer brings to our Board Financial acumen, experience and understanding of charity finance and will be a supportive sounding Board for the Senior Executive team in relation to Strategic Financial planning.

The role of the Trustee
The Charities Act 1993 defines charity trustees as those responsible under the charity’s governing document for controlling the administration and management of the charity.
Our board of trustees have shared responsibility for the overall governance, financial health and strategic direction of the charity, developing its organisational aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.

Job Description
Role Title: Treasurer and Chair of Finance, Audit and Risk Committee
Salary: Voluntary (Trustees can claim out of pocket expenses incurred in travelling to meetings)

Responsibilities
The role of the Board of Trustees is to receive assets from our partners and donors, safeguard them and apply them to the charitable purposes of Causeway. The trustee board must always act in the best interests of the charity, exercising the same standard of duty of care that a prudent person would apply if looking after the affairs of someone for whom they have responsibility.
Specific responsibilities as Treasurer and Chair of FAR
· To ensure that the organisation complies with its governing document and its own financial rules, charity law, company law, and other relevant legislation or regulations.
· To ensure that adequate financial procedures and controls are in place and that the organisation operates within a sound financial framework.
· To advise the Trustees on the financial implications of their strategy and policy objectives, and ensure appropriate financial risk management and reserves policies are in place.
· To lead the creation and chairing of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee on behalf of the Board of Trustees, and to attend the Remuneration Committee.
· In association with the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Finance, to ensure that all financial dealings are properly accounted for, including grants and restricted funds.
· To lead the production of an annual budget, propose its adoption to the Board, and monitor performance against the budget with support from the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Finance.
· To liaise with the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Finance to ensure timely, comprehensive and accurate financial information is provided to the Trustees (e.g. balance sheet, cash flow, bank balances, fundraising performance, reserves reporting).
· To discuss the auditor's report and annual accounts with Trustees at the Annual General Meeting and manage the process of appointing auditors.
To be involved in closely managing the organisation’s investments, and provide tax and investment advice where necessary, with attention to pensions provision.
The legal responsibilities of a trustee are to:
· Ensure that Causeway complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations
· Ensure that Causeway pursues its objects as defined in its governing document
· Ensure Causeway applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects
· Contribute actively to the board of trustees by providing strategic direction, setting overall policy, and defining goals and targets

In addition to the above statutory duties, each trustee will use their specialist skills, knowledge and experience to identify key issues, provide advice and guidance to the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Leadership team, and help improve the decision making of the Board.

Hours/time-commitment
This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
The overall time commitment for the Treasurer is expected to be around 1-2 days per month.
There are four full board meetings a year that last approx. 2 hours, outside regular office hours.
There will be a quarterly commitment to the FAR committee once established.
Papers for meetings are distributed 10 working days (plus a weekend) in advance of meetings.

Raising Futures Kenya is looking for an enthusiastic, committed Trustee, with a passion for supporting our small but mighty international NGO through a journey of shifting power to our partner NGO. We are particularly looking for individuals with experience in fundraising in the international development sector, and a strong understanding of the international fundraising landscape.
Responsible to: Chair, Raising Futures Kenya
Purpose: To guide and advise on the international fundraising landscape, and shifting the power (including fundraising) to our Kenyan partners.

About Raising Futures Kenya
For 22 years, Raising Futures Kenya (England & Wales charity no.1181670) has worked alongside local people, and our partner NGO, in Kenya to develop projects which are owned by the community and create long-term, sustainable change to reduce poverty and improve livelihoods.
Through our Seed of Hope training and support programme we enable 14-25 year olds (75% girls) to secure employment or start a small business, generating enough income to live above the poverty line. We provide free technical vocational and business skills training, alongside mental health and wellbeing support which has led to over 90% of graduates being in employment, self-employment or further education. Seed of Hope offers young people opportunity, dignity and hope.
All training is combined with 3 key elements of support which makes our project unique and more successful than vocational training alone.
1. Daily life skills and mental health wellbeing curriculum which includes topics on common mental health issues to challenge stigma and signpost students to the free counselling sessions we offer, gender equality, knowing and asserting your rights, family planning, health, hygiene and nutrition.
2. Practical help is provided to ensure we remove any barriers young people may face in gaining an education and attending lessons, such as; free cooked lunches, support with travel costs, childcare vouchers for young mothers and free menstrual hygiene packs.
3. Graduate support helps young people set up their own business and generate a sustainable income. This includes tailored business and financial literacy training, access to the Seed of Hope Business Hub providing computers, tools, and materials for graduates to use to launch their business, plus an ongoing peer mentoring scheme from former successful Seed of Hope graduates.
If students are traumatised, hungry or can’t afford sanitary products, they won’t be in a position to learn. We treat every student as an individual and personalise our support to their specific needs and circumstances to set every student up for success. We know this holistic approach is more successful than vocational training alone, and has the most meaningful impact for young people.

The Stuart Hall Foundation is inspired by the life’s work of Professor Stuart Hall in the interlocking worlds of activism, academia and the arts. We are looking to appoint a new Chair who has a demonstrable commitment to the Foundation with the ability to lead and manage a unique and growing national charity.
The Chair has responsibility for providing oversight, shaping strategy and working collaboratively with the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees to further develop the organisation’s vision for the next three to five years. The Chair will also support the Vice Chair in overseeing financial management and external relations. The role is not accompanied by any financial remuneration.

Home-Start Suffolk is seeking an experienced and committed individual to join our Board of Trustees as Treasurer. Kimedes is a purpose-driven WaterTech startup tackling one of the world’s most pressing challenges: water scarcity. Through our AI-powered leak detection technology, we help municipalities and industries reduce water losses by up to 30%, supporting a more efficient and sustainable use of water resources.
We are currently in our market expansion phase across Spain and Catalonia, building partnerships with municipalities, water utilities, and industrial players. Role Summary – Intelligence Research Volunteer
As an Intelligence Research Volunteer, you will support Kimedes in gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing critical market insights. Your work will focus on tracking technologies, competitors, policy frameworks, and sector trends in the water management and climatetech space. These insights will directly inform Kimedes’ go-to-market strategy, fundraising narrative, and product positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on emerging technologies in leak detection, water management, and climatetech.
- Map and analyze competitors, startups, and incumbents in the European and global water sector.
- Track market trends, regulations, and funding opportunities relevant to water technology adoption.
- Prepare concise reports, briefs, and dashboards to share insights with the CEO and COO.

Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN) is a well-established and highly respected UK-based charity working to reduce malnutrition globally. ENN strives to enhance the effectiveness of nutrition policy and programming by building evidence, convening critical actors and transferring knowledge. We are passionate about being field driven and are globally recognised as thought leaders and conveners in nutrition. Our vision is a world where ‘Every individual confronted by malnutrition has access to the knowledge, tools, services and resources they require to meet their needs. We work with governments, civil society, UN, donor and academic organisations to achieve mutual goals. Through these collaborations we support agencies to implement evidence-based nutrition programming, predominantly in low- and middle-income countries.
The Trustee Role
ENN is seeking to appoint a new Chair of Trustees to lead its Board with strategic insight, collaboration, and a deep commitment to the organisation’s mission. This is a significant and rewarding opportunity to guide the governance of a globally respected charity at a pivotal time in its journey.
As Chair, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring that the Board of Trustees operates effectively, provides strong oversight, and supports ENN to fulfil its charitable objectives. We are looking for a Chair who brings substantial leadership and governance experience, including at board level within the charity, public, academic, or international development sectors. Your Responsibilities as a Trustee:
As Chair of the Board, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the overall effectiveness of ENN’s governance and strategic direction. You will guide the Board in fulfilling its collective responsibility to uphold ENN’s mission and values, while supporting the organisation to thrive in a complex and evolving funding landscape.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Chairing the Board of Trustees: Leading quarterly Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting, ensuring well-structured and inclusive discussions, clear decision making, and effective follow-up on actions.
- Strategic Leadership: Working with the CEO and fellow trustees to shape and review ENN’s strategic direction and priorities, especially in light of changes in the global funding environment.

Previous experience of charity trusteeship is desirable but not essential if the candidate demonstrates equivalent governance or board leadership experience in another sector.
Membership and Operation of the Board
The ENN Board of Trustees comprises individuals appointed by the Trust Members, selected for their diverse skills, experience, and commitment to ENN’s mission and values. Collectively, the Board provides strategic leadership, ensures good governance, and supports ENN in delivering its charitable objectives.
Trustees are appointed for an initial term of four years and are eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the Trust Members at a General Meeting, in accordance with ENN’s Articles of Association.
The Chair of Trustees is elected by the Board from among its members. The Chair serves for a term of up to three years and may be re-elected for one additional term. This ensures a balance of continuity and renewal in Board leadership.
The Board meets quarterly and may convene additional meetings as required. Trustees are expected to attend meetings regularly and actively participate in subcommittees, working groups, and strategic initiatives as needed.
Time Commitment – And our Commitment to You
Your commitment in an average year is likely to be 4 pre-fixed board meetings, each of half a day. Each of these are preceded by sub-committee meetings, usually of ninety-minutes, and each trustee is expected to participate in one sub-committee. Other committee and ad hoc meetings and additional support will be arranged as agreed. We encourage active participation and engagement, and Trustees often give more time outside of this, on their own terms.
Board meetings are held virtually, with an intention to hold one facilitated face to face meeting at the ENN HQ in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, every two years. Additional sub-committee meetings will be convened remotely.
Ideally you will join the Board in 2025, though we can show some flexibility on this for the right candidate, and in your first few months you should allow for additional time for induction and orientation (including meeting a number of the Leadership Team).
Remuneration
This is an unpaid, voluntary position. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed for attendance at Board meetings and other Trustee activities in line with ENN’s policies. Some employers encourage and enable trusteeship as part of wider career development and corporate social responsibility; please check with your organisation and their relevant policies.

The ENN-led Operational Guidance on Infant Feeding in Emergencies has become the key global policy guidance and has been endorsed by the World Health Assembly, and our technical leadership and convening has facilitated real change in awareness and a new narrative, challenging siloed approaches to Wasting and Stunting management.
Our work has never been more important. Nutritional challenges are growing across the world; undernutrition rates may be slowly decreasing but other forms of malnutrition are on the rise. The positive progress that is being made is unequal and many countries are now facing the double burden of both under and over nutrition. Crises around the world are increasingly protracted and the historical and artificial silos of ‘humanitarian’ and ‘development’ don’t reflect real needs which are much more fluid. Emerging threats, such as the broader impact on nutrition of the COVID-19 pandemic bring new challenges to address.
At present our annual turnover is around £1.8m (c. USD2.27m), we employ 28 staff and engage 20 - 30 specialist consultants. With our new strategy, we are keen to drive even greater impact by exploring new and innovative approaches and increasing our reach further still. We do so with funding in place from a range of institutional partners and private foundations.
As an organisation working across numerous technical areas relevant for countries experiencing high burden of malnutrition, we look to the board, and those trustees with a more technical focus in particular, to discuss new technical gap areas with us to ensure we maintain a responsive and balanced portfolio, to help us further develop our network, funding and connections, and to help us navigate the important work we do to influence structural and impactful change in the sector, including advising in situations where there is potential for strategic risk. Our History
Founded in 1996 in Ireland, ENN has a long and rich history in global nutrition. Following an evaluation of the Great Lakes Emergency in 1995, implementing agencies identified an urgent need to establish a vehicle for capturing programming experiences and preserving institutional memory in the emergency food and nutrition sector. This gave rise to ENN’s publication, Field Exchange, which was first produced in 1996, designed to stimulate critical thinking and learning, influence research agendas and cross-fertilise information and exchange. ENN was generously hosted by Trinity College Dublin for its first eight years, before relocating to Oxfordshire in 2004 and is now a UK registered Charity.

Time commitment & flexibility
We respect the demanding schedules of school leaders, so we structure our commitments with maximum flexibility:
�� Induction – Approx. 6 hours to familiarise yourself with our programme and approach.
�� Ongoing - 6 hours on a quarterly basis including:
Quarterly Education & Safeguarding Committee – 1-hour remote meeting, with up to 1 hour of prep.
Quarterly Full Board Meeting – 2-hour in-person meeting (ideally, but remote options available), with up to 2 hours of prep. We encourage in-person attendance as we socialise as a board afterward, but we fully understand when this isn’t possible.
�� Additional support – As available, based on your interest and capacity.
What we’re looking for:
✔ Experience in school leadership, with a strong understanding of how schools operate.
✔ Teaching experience, ideally recent, to ensure familiarity with classroom realities.
✔ Commitment to our mission of empowering young people through character education.
➕ We'd love it if you also had knowledge of or experience with schools in Newham and it's neighbouring boroughs, Bedford, or Luton.

About the role
We’re looking for two new Trustees to join our experienced and committed Board.
Trustees work closely with our Chief Executive to shape Foundations’ direction and ensure we remain a high-impact organisation. This includes contributing to strategy, overseeing our financial health and helping us stay grounded in the needs of children and families.
Each Trustee brings their own strengths, challenge and support. We’re thoughtful, motivated and ambitious about creating real change.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for:
- A qualified finance professional with charity experience who can also chair our Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
- A children’s services leader with a strong grasp of early intervention and social care, ideally with senior experience in local government.
Just as important is your belief in our mission, your commitment to equity and inclusion, and your willingness to ask difficult questions, listen closely and work collaboratively.
We actively encourage applications from people who bring different perspectives, backgrounds and lived experience.
Expectations for Trustees:
- Around one day per month, including quarterly Board meetings and an annual away day.
- Involvement in at least one subcommittee (our Finance Trustee will chair theirs).
- Trustees are appointed for a three-year term, with the option to renew once (up to six years total).
