We are looking for a freelance Finance & Operations Officer - ideally with charity experience and familiar with Xero - who can support our core team of four as it takes the charity to the next level.  Preferably able to work flexibly, the average time required is estimated at one day per week. This may mean dealing with an email or phone call in an ad hoc way from time to time.

Using a network of music industry professionals and youth workers, Grounded Sounds offer engaging, top quality programmes in a highly welcoming and supportive environment. The programmes are for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds - both 11 – 16 year olds in schools or youth centres and for 16 – 24 year olds (often NEET) with an interest in music. The programmes don’t just develop musical talent; they build young people’s confidence and life skills.

As Finance & Operations Officer, you will report to the Chief Executive and help with all ‘back office’ activities for the charity.  These include: all bookkeeping activities; producing monthly and annual financial reports; managing and overseeing the use of Views, our Monitoring and Evaluation system from Substance; supporting the Chief Exec in ensuring policies and procedures are kept up to date; and supporting the team with analysis and reporting to funders.  You will also run the payroll.  The Treasurer, one of the trustees, who has been doing the accounts and performing many of the back office activities up to this point, will support you.

About the role

Reporting into the Finance Manager (Systems and Controls), you will be a key member of the team and the lead officer for the management, maintenance, development and improvement of the Council’s Financial Systems. You will be responsible for the team that deals with all transactional services (accounts payable, accounts receivable and income allocation), reconciliations of these areas, and debtor monitoring. This includes cash handling and income allocation and BACS processing for the Council.

About you

You will be educated to degree level, or with relevant experience of working within this environment. Ideally, you will be a member of an appropriate professional body (CCAB) or be able to strongly evidence equivalent professional experience and be working towards fully qualified status. Previous experience of supporting the closure of accounts process for a large multi-disciplinary organisation to enable the production of compliant Statutory Statement of Accounts is also required for this post.

A fantastic and fast-growing charity focused on providing support and advice for carers of children is seeking a Senior Finance Officer on a full-time, permanent basis.

With headquarters in London, the role is offered on a hybrid basis – with 2 days per week required onsite. The charity has a turnover of around £7 million, with approximately 80 staff. Their focus is specifically to provide support for kinship carers of children – grandparents, siblings and other family members who support children when parents are unable to provide care.

The Senior Finance Officer role will make up part of a new finance team structure. The role reports to the Head of Finance, and other team members include a Payroll Manager and Finance Director. The role is paying £36,206 inclusive of London weighting.

The role will cover processing all income and expenditure in the financial management system, performing bank and transaction ledger reconciliations to support treasury management and cashflow forecasting, supporting the workflows of the Finance and Fundraising teams and providing relevant financial information to support various reporting requirements.

The charity has recently implemented a new finance system (Business Central) and has secured some new grants and contracts, so there may be the chance to grow and progress as the charity continues on this path.

Financial Controller - Projects | London | 12-month FTC | £55,000 - £60,000

For a leading global NGO, we're recruiting a Project Financial Controller for a fixed term of 12-months. Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller and working closely with the CEO, this role will lead the financial management and internal controls for the Regional and Country offices and shared service processes and transactions. The Projects Financial Controller will implement robust management reporting, and cash-flow forecasts, and will work with stakeholders to monitor budgets and forecasts. As a Projects Officer for Live Unlimited you'll be helping to make a difference to the lives of care experienced young people living in Barnet, north London.

Reporting to: Operations Director & Fundraising Manager

Location: Flexible and remote working is offered to all of our staff. We have an office based in Colindale, London, which we tend to work around two days per week, with two days remote working.

About the Role: This is an interesting and varied role. As the post holder you'll be not only be setting up, administering and delivering schemes and activities to benefit Barnet’s looked after young people, you'll also be creating marketing materials and supporting fundraising events.  Promoting the work of our charity is key too through updating our website, writing our quarterly newsletter and social media channels, as well as supporting the running and administration of the charity. 

About You:

You'll have experience of managing and delivering projects, schemes or activities and supporting administrative tasks including keeping accurate records, financial tracking and expenditure.
 
You'll also have experience of creating engaging content for newsletters, websites and/or social media channels especially Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram and building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver common goals.
 
Having a passion for Live Unlimited’s vision and objectives is very useful in this role. We particularly welcome applicants with experience or being a looked after child, care leaver or personal experience of the care system.

Working hours: 28 hours (4 days per week) Could be split across five days. Core hours: 10am-4pm

Salary: £135.35pd for 4 days per week (£35,191 FTE) The role is for 12 months with a view to possible extension dependent on funding. Would consider suitable candidates interested in working 21 hours (3 days per week).

We are looking for a Product and Portfolio Manager within our Porfolio Development Team. You will have demonstrable experience in product/portfolio lifecycle management as well as a proven track record of successfully developing a cohesive portfolio strategy. You will need significant experience of meeting new business targets and driving business growth, as well as the development of a new business pipeline.

In this role, you will work closely with colleagues to introduce new products and services that will support our growth and charitable impact. The role will include responsibility for meeting a new business target, through lead generation. This is an important and dynamic role that will require strategic thinking and a strongly collaborative approach. 

This role

In this role, you will:

• Manage the existing product portfolio, reviewing the existing offering in relation to market trends, client needs, the competitive landscape and the Charity's strategic goals
• Develop detailed product knowledge across the portfolio of products, leading development activity for each area alongside ongoing assessment of financial performance and product/service viability.
• Recommend and oversee product improvements, using market demand and customer and colleague feedback to identify and prioritise change.
• Working with the Chief Operating Officer and service leads to understand trends and opportunities across the portfolio and associated markets.
• Engage with expert colleagues from across the organisation to understand and support the development of their product ideas, evaluating these against internal and external factors including feasibility, expected value, and market demand.
• Financial and strategic modelling of new product options based on market demand, fit to Picker strategy, impact/income potential, strength of offering and ability to reach target audience.
• Work in partnership with the Chief Operating Officer, Head of Service Delivery, service leads, and the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop marketing plans to support demand generation on a thematic basis, providing expert product knowledge, customer insight and new business leads.

About You

You will have:

• Demonstrable experiences in product/portfolio lifecycle management.
• Demonstrable experience of managing project timetables, including reviewing progress and amending plans to address changing requirements 
• Proven track record of successfully developing a cohesive portfolio strategy that supports brand integrity/growth, whilst growing individual business lines/products/services
• Significant experience of meeting product/service business targets. Including driving business growth with new services and/or in new markets     
• Experience of success in the development and qualification of a new business pipeline (including campaign management and follow-up)
• Demonstrable leadership skills, with the ability to lead projects through to successful completion
• High levels of IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams  and Dynamics
• Highly numerate and confident in dealing with quantitative data including management and financial information 
• Ability to work collaboratively at corporate and departmental levels and, where necessary, with external suppliers and contacts 
• Excellent grasp of the English language in the business context 
• Ability to apply innovative thinking to identify how new research methodologies could be beneficial to the organisation and its clients
