We are excited to be recruiting for a Director of Supporter Engagement to join Mary’s Meals UK. Reporting the Executive Director and serving as an integral member of the UK leadership team, the Director of Supporter Engagement will lead, inspire and develop the Supporter Engagement function, balancing strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to fundraising.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Strategy and Leadership

• To support the day-to-day management of the charity and contribute to the organisation’s strategic direction and growth, as part of the senior leadership team.

• To manage a portfolio of donor, volunteer and prospect relationships, travelling regularly to attend meetings, and network to cultivate new prospects and funding opportunities.
• To support the team to develop professional and engaging fundraising materials including fundraising propositions, applications, proposals, appeals, pitches, presentations and reports.
• To oversee volunteer strategy, management and support to further empower our volunteers with a greater role in our shared vision and maximise their skills and networks.

Budgeting, Reporting and Compliance

• To set, monitor and deliver annual income and expenditure budgets, providing regular reports as required to the Executive Director, Leadership team, wider Mary’s Meals family, and our Board of Trustees.
• To feed into organisational strategic KPIs and team KPIs, and ensure a regular schedule of reporting, and insight gathering is in place to monitor activity and use insight to guide decision-making and drive growth. 

People and culture

• To create a high performing team that is ambitious and passionate about the Mary’s Meals vision.
• To ensure teams receive consistent and motivating direction and feedback to enable them to work to the best of their ability.
• Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the charity at all levels, adopting and encouraging a collaborative working approach across the Mary’s Meals family. This role must work particularly closely with the Director of Communications, and collaboration with this role will be key.
• To work with the Head of People to ensure that MMUK is an employer of choice which attracts, recruits and retains a talented team of values-led, paid employees and volunteers, throughout the UK.
• To actively promote safeguarding practices and model behaviours that support a safe culture across all MMUK activities. 

About you:

• Significant experience operating at senior management level, including leading a fundraising department, ideally with experience in the areas of grassroots and major giving fundraising.
• Experience of developing and executing strategies to secure significant revenue generation, with specific evidence of delivering income growth.
• Experience of representing an organisation at a senior level, with excellent written, presentation and public speaking skills.
• Excellent entrepreneurial networking and relationship building abilities, with experience of proactively identifying and cultivating new and existing donor relationships, and securing strategic funding partnerships and high-value donations.
• Experience in volunteer strategy, management, recruitment and engagement.
• Experience in setting, monitoring and delivering significant annual income and expenditure budgets, providing regular reports as required.
• Experience of testing and launching new fundraising products (e.g., mass engagement grassroots campaigns, corporate partnerships, major donor events etc.).

The Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and be responsible for overseeing a team of 16 and working towards growing annual income from £10 million to £12m-£14 million within the next few years, as well as securing £2m-£3 million in pro bono support. With a view to grow income this position will have a strategic role in refining and leading donor engagement and stewardship. With direct line management of four excellent Directors, this role will work and lead the team to think innovatively in how to grow new donor networks and engagement approaches to achieve income growth.  

The successful candidate will be able to evidence extensive high value fundraising experience in complex organisations, with notable examples of successfully securing six and seven-figure gifts from major donors, corporates, and foundations. This person will have proven experience of leading successful teams to achieve income and engagement growth of a multimillion-pound level. They will also be an experienced senior leader and ideally have knowledge of the education, children, or youth sectors. They will champion an inclusive culture and align with Impetus' mission and values.

The Philanthropy team is part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships department, whose primary goal is to engage high value supporters and fundraise for the Stop MS Appeal.

As Philanthropy Officer, you will work closely with the Philanthropy manager, raising income for the MS Society from philanthropy fundraising activities as per the agreed objectives and targets.

You will identify, engage and steward philanthropy prospects through events and other appropriate fundraising activities, generating income to achieve ambitious targets and delivering a first class supporter experience.

The Foundation Manager will report directly to the COO and act as the general manager of the charity, serving as the central pivot, which all operations revolve around. They will manage the charity on a day-to-day basis, lead the delivery of our programmes, and drive both fundraising efforts and sound financial management to support our work.

African Adventures Foundation is a registered charity set up in 2013 to provide support to 29 schools in developing areas of Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar.

These schools provide education, health and food security, and social support to young people whose access to these basic services would otherwise be very limited. African Adventures Foundation helps by funding food security programmes, the construction of important school facilities, and hygiene projects that will benefit children’s health and education. With your help, we can continue to provide security and opportunities for more children in Africa.

It's an extremely exciting time to join our team as we continue to expand our company. Due to our current growth and expected growth over the coming years, we are in the process of relocating from Eastleigh to new office premises in Whiteley, which are better able to accommodate our expanding team. This role may also require travel outside the UK to visit our Programmes as needed by the business.

The role is centred around three core elements: charity management, programme delivery, and fundraising.

Responsibilities

1. Charity management (with support from the COO & Trustees)

• Line management of the Programme Officer in all respects including recruitment, conduct, capability, welfare, personal development.
• Indirect (matrix) management of the in-country Foundation Coordinators.
• Key member of the broader UK Management team.
• Support the COO and Chair of Trustees with the overall Governance framework of the charity including standards, processes and reporting.
• Primary point of contact for the board of Trustees day-to-day, supporting the Chair of the Trustees in the coordination and administration of Board activity.
• Lead on development, oversight and operation of charity standards, processes and systems.
• Work alongside the charities dedicated Finance Officer in ensuring good financial management of income and expenditure through planning, approvals, and processes.
• Attend a variety of external charitable, donor, and operational events or locations as required from time to time.
• Work closely with supporting departments like Finance, Marketing, and Travel Operations on all charity related matters.
• Handle day-to-day enquiries, questions, and issues related to the Foundation.

2. Programme Delivery (delivered by the Programme Officer)

• Ensure that a clear, documented process is in place for receiving, triaging, and managing requests related to volunteer projects and charity support.
• Lead the prioritisation process for articulated charitable requests, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained and properly documented.
• Support strong project management throughout the planning and delivery of approved charitable projects.
• Ensure a robust MEAL [Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning] process is in place for measuring and reporting on the impact of the charity’s work with its beneficiaries, donors, and trustees.

3. Fundraising (with support from the COO & Trustees)

• Responsible for the developing and managing the Fundraising Opportunities Portfolio ensuring all stakeholders have clear visibility of funding gaps and opportunities for current and prospective donors.
• Responsible for leading on developing fundraising activities as informed by the Fundraising Strategy to drive income and cover operational expenditure.
• Maintain strong Donor relationships and develop grant applications adding to support a healthy funding pipeline to ensure we meet the charities fundraising targets.
• Work with the Marketing Manager to ensure effective marketing and social media strategies in are in place and to maximise the opportunities they provide.

What We’re Looking For:

Due to the breadth of this role, we would only expect an incumbent to have relevant experience in 2 of the 3 core elements of the role as a minimum, but with a strong desire to develop and learn in the 3rd with dedicated support.

Essential:

• Excellent Written & Communication skillset. A true collaborator.
• Experience in the Charity sector in a Management/Leadership capacity.
• Experience in Project Management and/or Delivery.
• A passion for driving improvement and change, to the betterment of children in Africa.

Ideally two of the following:

• Experience in charity management, governance, and compliance.

• Experience in fundraising, donor relations, and/or campaign management.

Desirable:

• Experience of operating in an International Charity/NGO sector.
• Experience in African child development, education, empowerment/health context.

About the role 

Mission Without Borders is seeking an experienced Salesforce Support Specialist to focus on three key areas; Salesforce Administration, training, and process documentation. 

As a Salesforce expert and product champion, the post holder will work closely with our existing Salesforce Support Specialist to be the first point of contact for Salesforce support and training across all staff in all 18 countries. They will triage incoming tickets, provide support, fix problems, make configuration changes, and work closely with our Salesforce Developer and Product Owner to manage change requests. 

With significant stakeholder engagement, they will help to develop a staff training programme for all countries and deliver both routine and ad-hoc training for new employees, new processes, feature changes, and upgrades. 

Process documentation will need to be created for new, modified, and existing Salesforce/business processes along with details of third-party integrations and submitted change requests. 

The role sits within the International Salesforce team, led by the Salesforce Developer and Product Owner. The team’s purpose is to be guardians of the organisations data and processes, supporting the rollout, maintenance, and extension, of our Salesforce platform and services.
