We're looking for a Head of Governance and Compliance to work closely with our CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees. This is a vital role at the centre of the organisation, supporting a wide range of influential individuals. As Head of Governance and Compliance, you will lead our governance function, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance while enabling effective decision-making. With strong governance experience, sound judgement and the ability to build trust at all levels, you will support effective leadership and accountability across the MND Association.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and continuously develop the governance function, embedding best practices aligned with our strategy and values.
• Act as the primary trusted advisor on governance, risk and regulatory matters to the Chair, Board, CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
• Lead and develop governance frameworks, policies and structures that reflect best practice.
• Oversee planning and delivery of all governance activities, including Board meetings, Committee meetings, and the AGM.
• Provide clear structured agendas, timely papers and accurate minutes to support effective governance meetings.
• Maintain governance records and ensure regulatory compliance with Companies House and the Charity Commission.
• Monitor and report on governance performance, risks and improvement areas.
• Take a leading role in managing and enabling constructive and challenging relationships between the Board, Chair, and ELT.
• Manage trustee recruitment, induction, training and succession planning.
• Oversee the organisation's policy framework and serious complaints process, ensuring appropriate enquiry and learning.
• Lead the development and implementation of the risk management framework in line with Board expectations.
• Stay informed on legal, regulatory and sector developments and advise the organisation on implications.

The Director of Philanthropy will be part of the Executive Team and be responsible for overseeing the successful creation and delivery of a new income generation strategy for the mission of the Lodge.

Focusing on Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and Corporates, this role will lead the relationship mapping, building, and the fundraising ask. It will convey the unique offering Cumberland Lodge can bring to potential donors and work towards multimillion pound income levels to ensure the growth of the charity's educational programme delivery and activity. This role line manages one staff member and has direct support from the CEO to achieve income generation growth.  A key opportunity is the upcoming 80 th anniversary of the Educational Foundation in 2027.

The successful candidate will be able to evidence extensive high value fundraising experience, with notable examples of successfully securing six and seven-figure gifts from major donors and corporates.

This person will have proven experience of creating and leading successful philanthropy fundraising strategy to achieve income and engagement growth of a multimillion-pound level. They will also be an experienced senior leader and ideally have knowledge of the education, youth, social impact, and social values sectors. A willingness to learn British Sign Language (BSL) if not already proficient is essential.

Strategic Development and Delivery

• Work with the CEO of Greater Together Manchester to develop a work plan for engaging with existing parish based social justice projects and initiatives, with a focus on shifting from crisis response to prevention.
• Provide a range of development support to new projects and initiatives.
• Be the contact person for parishes seeking advice and support on addressing issues of social justice.
• Keep up to date with the work of national, regional and local organisations and charities that work in this space, as well as keeping up to date with government policies, initiatives and communicating these effectively to parishes and communities.

We are currently looking for a Head of Logistics and Trading to join our team responsible for the management and duties arising from the MSSC stores team and Sea Cadets Shop orders, and other departmental functions.

Responsibilities

• To manage the operations of the MSSC Logistics & Trading department, which includes motor transport management for the MSSC.
• To be line manager to the Logistics & Trading Team.
• Be Building Manager responsible for the safety and security of all machinery, staff and operations within Sea Cadet Stores.
• Be responsible for budgetary control and finances associated with the department.
• To provide warehouse management and administrative oversite to operations for receipt and dispatch of online shop orders, MoD and MSSC stores held on loan throughout the MSSC.
• Liaise with SCC units, contractors, suppliers and MoD, to effectively deliver an efficient, effective department.
• Be responsible for maintain appropriate levels of MoD and Sea Cadets Shop stock.

• Produce and distribute a regular involvement newsletter to communicate opportunities, updates, and information about the work of Sarcoma UK.

Volunteer Management

• Develop and implement a volunteering programme aligned with Sarcoma UK's organisational objectives.
• Design and maintain efficient systems for the recruitment, screening, induction, and support of volunteers.
• Act as the initial point of contact for volunteer recruitment and onboarding, before handing over management to the relevant staff member (e.g. fundraising event organiser or project lead) depending on the role.
• Define clear volunteer roles and pathways that deliver impact and reflect volunteer motivations and interests.
• Plan and deliver engaging training for volunteers based on role requirements.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records using our database (Raiser’s Edge NXT).
• Develop and manage volunteer policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with volunteering regulations and best practice.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on the impact of volunteering initiatives.
• Administer volunteer expenses and coordinate recognition within agreed budgets.

 General

• Support cross-organisational projects that involve people affected by sarcoma.
• Attend Sarcoma UK events and contribute to the wider work of Sarcoma UK.
• Travel occasionally to meetings and events. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required (time off in lieu will be given).
• Work flexibly and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, undertaking other duties as required to support the wider operations of Sarcoma UK.

We are offering an exciting opportunity in a Sheffield based charity that has doubled in size in the past 4 years, setting up and acquiring two lettings agencies,  and which continues to grow. Duties and Responsibilities

1. To buy into, adhere to and promote the values of Nomad Opening Doors.

2. To be a positive and enthusiastic advocate of Nomad and its related projects.

3. To be the first point of contact for Nomad and its subsidiary organisations both in person and on the telephone.

4. To deal with enquiries both in person and on the telephone, directing callers and visitors as appropriate. This will include providing “hosting” to clients, partners and other visitors.

5. To book  prospective tenants in for assessments and tenancy workshops which are usually held weekly.

6. To assist in the preparation of events and meetings including arranging. refreshments, scheduling and booking rooms/venues. This may involve taking the lead as required.

7. To effectively and accurately minute-take Full Team Meetings and other similar meetings as required.

8. To set up and maintain appropriate administration and quality systems, in accordance with policy and contract requirements, including processing necessary paperwork.

9. To maintain comfortable, effective offices including liaising with Business Hub staff as issues arise relating to telephones, utilities, general maintenance and so on.

10.  To maintain stock levels that are appropriate for the smooth function of all project areas including ensuring printer paper and inks are in supply and stationery requirements are met.

11.  To assist the Communications and Fundraising Coordinator with the marketing and publicising of all Nomad’s services including Four Trees Lettings and Clarity Lettings, keeping information up to date and accurate through letters, reports, annual report, updating the web sites and a range of social media.  

12.  To set up client files and prepare assessment packs, sign up packs and client folders where required.

13.  To collate information to assist with regular reporting for all projects and the organisation.

14.  To assist the CEO with the gathering of information to be compiled into a detailed quarterly report to be presented to the Boards of Trustees.

15.  To maintain archiving, filing and storage systems (paper & electronic) where required.

16.  To assist the CEO with H&S checks and any other related accommodation matters.

17.  To assist the CEO with tasks related to data protection and GDPR including researching and booking refresher/update training as required.

18.  To lead on the logistics of such social events as the staff Christmas meal, the staff away day and any other such events that may from time to time be suggested by the staff team.

19.  To assist with research into and support the development of new ideas and opportunities.

20.  To supervise and support volunteers/trainees where required.

21.  To work in line with NOMAD’s policies and procedures.

22.  To undertake any other duties relevant and appropriate to the post.
