A Partner in Education (APIE) is a small charity established in 2009 to support education development in Rwanda and make a positive difference to children’s futures. APIE has developed teacher training programmes in Early Childhood Education and Education for Positive Peace. We also collaborate closely with our partner school, Umubano Academy, which has become a centre of excellence for teaching and learning, as well as a beacon school for peace in Rwanda.
We are looking for an Operations and Communication Manager who is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children in Rwanda to join our small, dedicated team. The post holder will work remotely full time, with occasional in-person meetings and the opportunity to visit our projects in Rwanda. This UK based role is at the centre of our small international charity and has two significant parts:
i) Managing the general administration and operations of APIE in the UK, including systems for governance, communications, finances and compliance.
ii) To deliver our internal and external communications strategy, write and disseminate publicity material, and respond to inquiries from the public and media.

About the role
The Hardman Trust supports people on long prison sentences to take their next steps in life. As the office, grants and programmes administrator your role is to help make this a reality through the day-to-day support of our work. As part of our organisation wide transformation programme, Organisation of the Future (OoF), the People Team at Save the Children has been on a journey to be more agile, data driven and customer experience oriented. - Work across multiple projects and complex systems to design/redesign colleague facing services, providing expertise in design thinking, guiding the team to see and think about the service as a part of an end-to-end journey.

KidsOut’s core mission is to provide support designed to improve emotional, educational and social outcomes for children and young people who are facing numerous adverse childhood experiences associated with domestic abuse, poverty, family breakdown or ill health. We do this by providing joy filled experiences, practical and emotional support, and facilitating therapeutic or educational initiatives that strive to empower each child or young person to overcome adversity, unlock their full potential, and flourish in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
KidsOut’s support is offered to every child in a Women’s Aid refuge and over 100 independent refuges as well as children and young people experiencing crisis and challenge from some of the most marginalised and disadvantaged communities across the UK. Many of the 70,000 children and young people we support have undergone traumatic experiences, which can cause significant harm to their psychological development, their emotional wellbeing, their school life and their relationships.
We aim is to restore some normality and provide comfort to these traumatised children and young people though our programme of wellbeing amd educational activities. Our multi-faceted activities include fun days out, music, sport and art workshops as well as delivery of our bespoke Toyboxes to every child arriving at refuge. Additionally, for young people struggling to cope with their mental health we collaborate with regional partners to offer face-to-face sessions that offer specialist support and coping strategies to build resilience and improve emotional wellbeing.
In your role of Trust and Partnerships Officer you will be actively involved in the provision of these positive initiatives by applying your excellent research and relationship management skills to help develop a pipeline of income from charitable trusts and corporate foundations with the potential to support our wide range of projects. You will identify and develop compelling applications to secure funding through various funding sources, that not only contributes to the financial team target but makes a difference to the UK's most vulnerable children.
Key Duties:
- You will write compelling and successful funding applications to Charitable Trusts, Statutory funds and other grant making organisations.
- You’ll keep up to date on the UK grant funding market and trends
- You’ll build and maintain grants and partnership pipeline, seeking out new prospects and opportunities to support existing and new projects.
- You’ll ensure compliant and organised information filing on SharePoint and CRM to facilitate access to relevant information for colleagues and ensure smooth collaboration.
- You’ll produce and update internal income generation reports
- You’ll work flexibly, adapting to rapid changes and opportunities.
- Support volunteers and interns within the Grants and Partnership fundraising team.
- Work across teams to develop projects and align with funders criteria.

- You’ll be prepared to represent the team at workshops and events as required (may require occasional evening/weekend work).
- You’ll assist the Fundraising Team with other fundraising appeals/events when necessary.
- You'll comply with all current charity law and data protection legislation (i.e. GDPR) and ensure that the Code of Fundraising Practice, as stipulated by the Fundraising Regulator and best practice is adhered to.

Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. Following their sons’ diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Emily Reuben and Alex Johnson founded Duchenne UK in 2012. We are an ambitious, dynamic and impactful charity.
DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this.

Job Description
This role plays a key part in advancing the fundraising of Duchenne UK to enable more investment into research, advancing treatments and supporting the DMD community. A core part of this will be building relationships with key supporters, including our incredible Family and Friends Funds, corporate supporters and community of fundraisers.
You will be central to the development and delivery of key events and campaigns throughout the year to achieve ambitious fundraising targets. You will have budget management responsibilities and provide insight into activities to drive improvements and further success in future years.
The role will contribute to overall fundraising growth; ensuring the guiding engagement and fundraising principles are delivered, and that all fundraising delivers an exceptional and remarkable donor experience to which Duchenne UK prides itself.
Fundraising and business development

- Key relationship manager for Duchenne UK Family and Friends Funds, engaging them through fundraising, supporting third party events and providing regular project and charity updates
- Develop and implement the Family Fund and Community Fundraising stewardship strategy

Endeavour Academy was opened by the Trust in 2014, it consists of a Endeavour School and an on-site residential home, Endeavour House. Endeavour Academy is for children and young people with autism and moderate or severe learning disabilities. The School and the House have separate leadership structures which work in close partnership, with some roles which work across both settings.
Endeavour House provides 6 permanent placements and 5 short break places used for respite provision. Since opening in 2014 the children’s home has had a strong track record in OFSTED judgements, with the more recent history presenting some challenges and opportunities for development. As the home approaches its 10th anniversary we are looking for an exceptional leader to take the home through the next chapter and drive forwards improvements.
The Role
As Head of Care (Registered Manager) you will have overall responsibility for the management, leadership and direction of the children’s home. You will work with the support of the Responsible Individual and the Trust Central Team.
The role will be busy and varied and you will take the operational lead for all safeguarding matters. You will also be responsible for training and supervision. You must be willing to go above and beyond for the children and young people, ensuring that they have a positive experience of childhood that they can reflect upon and carry with them into adulthood.
You will work in close partnership with the Principal and senior leadership team of the on-site school to ensure continuity of provision across the school and the home and the development of the 24-hour curriculum.
About You
You will be an inspirational and driven leader, with a strong track record of people management and ‘taking a team with you’. You will not be shy of a challenge, you will be innovative and solution focused. You will be passionate about team development and an experienced coach and mentor.
You will have significant experience of working in a residential childcare setting, and you will have previous management experience. You will have a commitment to delivering high quality care according to OFSTED regulations. You will have some in-depth knowledge of have Autism and Severe Learning difficulties and experience of designing bespoke solutions to children who requires specialist support strategies to achieve excellent outcomes.
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Residential Management) qualification is a bonus but not essential as we support you to enroll and complete this.
