Your impact
You will be working closely with the Team Manager and Hertfordshire Children’s Services to provide a safe, happy and positive experience for families, children and young people who have been referred to the service. You will provide Supervised Contact for those referred to the service by their Social Workers and will provide a safe and welcoming environment where families are able to build trusting relationships and where appropriate receive support, advice and guidance.
Your skills
You will have excellent communication skills including the ability to work with families in conflict, build their trust and respect, and recognise the importance of remaining impartial, objective and focused on the needs of the child/children/young person at all times.
You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of safe working practices, risk assessment and risk management.
You will have excellent written skills, in particular being able to create reports of sessions which are objective, factual and reflect the needs of the Social Worker and court.
You will be a team player who is flexible, and enthusiastic about being an integral part of a newly formed and aspirational team which is focused on the Family Action values of Can Do, Excellence, Mutual Respect and People Focus.

We are currently seeking dynamic Practitioners to join our Children & Young People’s service (CYPS), working directly with young people affected by domestic abuse.
Domestic Violence Intervention Project (DVIP), a division of Richmond Fellowship since 2018, has been a leading provider of Respect accredited community perpetrator programmes working to stop domestic violence, increase safety for women and children, and reduce harm to families for over 29 years.
This role requires a good understanding of adolescent development, domestic abuse, child abuse and trauma, and the impacts of these on young people’s development, as well as a good understanding of the nature of domestic violence and its effects on women and children, and on the parent-child relationship. You will have experience of direct work with young people and their parents/carers, working flexibly but robustly and supportively, responding to challenging or harmful behaviour to facilitate change. You will have experience of providing structured one-to-one and/or group work counselling or behavioural change interventions, and of working with both children and adults from diverse backgrounds. You will have an excellent understanding of safeguarding procedures and be confident working both independently and as part of a team, working closely and collaboratively alongside partner agencies such as Children’s Services, Schools and Youth Offending Services.
You will have the opportunity to play a key role in developing DVIP’s young people’s services, working in partnerships with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver effective community responses to domestic violence, in line with RESPECT practice standards. Successful candidates will work in partnership with the clinical team to facilitate discharge of children aged 0-12 years from the Emergency Department where the clinical presentation is not acute and can be managed at home by local services.

The In Reach Hospital Emergency Department Family Support Programme model offers a robust way of supporting often vulnerable families to uncover and address unmet need. Through identifying the underlying factors causing the clinical presentation and attendance, and addressing holistic needs of the family unit, we hope activity to unscheduled, primary and emergency care is dramatically and sustainably reduced.
The model is based on Family Support Workers based within Children's Emergency Departments, offering holistic, family-oriented support in a flexible manner either in-person, telephone- based and home visits to be able to address the underlying causes of repeated / avoidable ED attendances.
*Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to March 2025 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement.
** Please note the hours for this role will be required over a 5-day week and may be done in longer day shifts or with set times i.e. 8am to 4pm (to suit Emergency Department and community/family needs). About the Role
Chance UK has been delivering early-intervention services across London since 1995. Our longest running programme is our mentoring service where Mentors pick the child up from home and run a 1:1 session in the community, once a week for 2 hours. They use the solution-focused approach to work on building the child’s self-esteem and confidence, set goals and explore new places.
In addition, we are growing a range of community based groups running after school as well as some workshops delivered in schools which will support children with developing social and emotional skills and resilience through activities or skills development.

Stop Domestic Abuse support all those affected by domestic abuse by providing innovative and unique services. They ensure that victims are supported to recover, and perpetrators are supported to change their behaviour.
This Refuge Worker role is on a permanent contract, part time basis (22 hours a week) and will be based in London.
Refuge workers will provide safety planning, support, advice, and assistance to children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and are staying in the refuge. The work will focus on preventing domestic abuse by providing support and facilitating safe space for children and young people and peer support networks in the refuge and supporting children and young people to keep safe in/maintain their refuge accommodation.
Additionally, you will establish and maintain links with statutory and voluntary agencies; to promote and support the welfare of families who have experienced domestic abuse. Form and maintain relationships with local specialist domestic abuse services, and finally, ensure that child welfare is ensured in accordance with Stop Domestic Abuse’s Protection from Abuse Policy.
This role includes the opportunity to be on call out of office hours as this is a 24-hour, 7 day a week service running outside of usual service hours. The on-call out of hours service may involve the following duties and responsibilities, this is not an exhaustive list and is subject to change to ensure contract and service delivery requirements are met by the organisation and to provide a high-quality service to people affected by domestic abuse. Stop Domestic Abuse is committed to running a 24-hour service to people affected by domestic abuse that is accessible, supportive and welcoming.

About this key role
Working as part of a multi-agency team, we will count on you to lead by example, be the day-to-day expert within the team, and be a positive role model to the team of caseworkers. Invisible Palace is currently looking for a Youth Support Worker to join an established circus project that works with local a primary school and youth partners in the Bromley and Lewisham areas of London.
Your experience does not necessarily need to be in a school or youth work setting, but could be working or volunteering in youth groups, sports coaching, after school clubs or the care sector.
