Working with two highly experienced Programme Coordinators, you will help to grow our existing Youth Development Team activities, currently present in Hampton, and continue the development of our newly launched Aspire project.

This is a maternity cover role for a minimum period of 6 months starting in June. You will be based in Peterborough but also spend time at our centre in Cambridge.

You will manage our Lead Youth Development Worker and Aspire Development Worker, in Peterborough, encouraging them to establish positive relationships with young people, from which we development activities, and provide advice and support.

Joining a growing Peterborough team, you’ll support the expansion of weekly groups, one-to-one work, family support, school-based alternative education, trips and residential experiences. Increasing partnership working with local community groups and agencies will be key to this.

Romsey Mill's Youth Development Team (YDT) works with disadvantaged, at-risk and vulnerable young people (aged 10 - 21 years) across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. YDT are passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges, live fulfilling lives and inspire change in the world. We currently engage around 1200 young people each year. Aspire is the name of Romsey Mill’s project that supports autistic children and young people. We currently deliver 14 specialist youth clubs across Cambridge, Cambourne, Linton and Hampton supporting over 180 autistic young people. We’re excited about further extending the work across Peterborough. You will work out of the office Romsey Mill rents at CSK Church in Hampton for 3-4 days per week. We utilise space there and in other community facilities for the delivery of activities. You will also spend 1-2 days working from Romsey Mill Centre, Cambridge.

Main purpose of job

The post-holder will be part of a multi-professional team providing holistic care and support

for children with life-limiting condition and their families. The post-holder will work in

collaboration with the family and other services providing care and support for the family.

The role includes active involvement in the education, training and professional development

of other team members including volunteers.

The Shooting Star Children’s Hospices care service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a

year. The post holder will be required to work a variety of shifts across the 24 hours.

Band 6 roles will also participate in the on call rota.

Part 2: Main duties and key responsibilities

• Act in accordance with Shooting Star Children’s Hospices policies, guidelines and

standards. To keep up to date with national policies and guidance.

• Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.

• Participate in the assessment, care planning and care management of each child and

family receiving care from Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

• Develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic,

Evidence-based nursing care. This includes completion of the Shooting Star Children’s

Hospices care competencies

• Liaise with clinical, non-clinical and facilities staff in order to maintain a safe, friendly and

welcoming environment for the children/ young people, families, visitors and staff

• Ensure cleanliness and infection control standards are maintained within the clinical area

taking appropriate action where these standards are not maintained and escalate to

Lead Nurses/ Head of Hospice Services where necessary

• Act as an advocate for the child / young person and family ensuring the provision of

appropriate information and support services

• Ensure effective communication between all members of the multidisciplinary team,

parents, relatives, visitors and external agencies

• Participate as a team member in the other activities that complete the care cycle, i.e.

laundry, the environment and outings with the young person and their family.

• Share professional expertise with Care Team colleagues, providing support and training

• Be responsible for maintaining and updating own professional practice by actively

participating in reflective practice, action learning, mandatory training, appraisal

management and practice supervision. To be a full and willing participant in opportunities

accurate and timely fashion, in accordance with Shooting Star Children’s Hospices policy

• Share information with colleagues at team meetings, when handing over care and at

other informal contacts.

• Maintain positive and effective communication with other agencies involved with the care

of families receiving a service from Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. To attend

discharge planning, network and review meetings as appropriate. This includes providing

written reports and letters as required.

• Ensure that young people and family feedback and views are brought to the attention of

senior personnel within the care directorate for consideration and to inform service

developments.

• Ensure that any complaints are dealt with in accordance with Shooting Star Children’s

Hospices policy.

• Report any equipment, maintenance or safety issues to the Lead Nurse or Head of

Hospice Services, ensuring that all Shooting Star Children’s Hospices property and

equipment is well looked after and maintained.

• Inform the relevant team member of any ordering required to facilitate good stock control

for all clinical and pharmacy stores.

• Carry out any reasonable duty as requested by the Director of Care / Head of Hospice

Services.

This role is part of the Wiltshire Project which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse for victims and their children.

Working within the children and families team, you will focus on delivering timely and high quality, trauma informed support to children.

This exciting new post will predominantly be working with children aged 0 to 5 years and their parents/carers who have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse. Focusing on standard and medium risk cases, this role will provide practical and emotional support to children where appropriate and their families, with an emphasis on early intervention and awareness raising.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

· To provide high quality, specialist support to children who have lived in a domestically abusive family.

· Enabling the children and their families to access statutory and other services where appropriate.

· Managing a caseload and working proactively to support children, young people and their families.

· To deliver educational, time-bound, 1 to 1 support sessions for children where appropriate and to their parents on the impact of DA on their children

· Provide specialist support through group work provision specifically the You and Me Mum Course to mothers who are victims of domestic abuse and have children aged between 0-5 years.

· To support with the facilitation of the CYP witness group provision alongside the specialist children and young people advisors

· Undertake risk assessments and implement robust safety management plans.

· Give practical and emotional support to children affected by domestic abuse.

· Work closely with multi-agency partners and the wider Wiltshire team to ensure that we maintain a focus on risk management and safeguarding.

· Work with your team and manager to develop early intervention resources.

· Engaging with and supporting the MARAC and MASH process, to ensure that the voice of victims is heard.

· To build key relationships with the Family Hub specifically the Navigator roles across the county.

In addition, there will be the opportunity to work with the team and manager to develop and deliver new group work provision for young people.

This role will be based in our Trowbridge office, with a requirement to travel across Wiltshire. FearFree supports staff to work flexibly, with an ability to work in a hybrid fashion, both at home and in the office.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of low to medium risk children and their parents/carers, predominantly aged between 0-5years through face to face appointments but also utilising virtual technologies.
• Complete an initial assessment of the child’s needs so that you can identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating.
• Assess, manage and review risks to service users, colleagues and self, according to agreed procedures.
• Assess the needs of the child and their parent/carer devise appropriate support and safety plans with due regard to the dynamic nature of risk.

We are seeking to recruit a highly skilled Key Worker for our Key Worker Service in East Berkshire. The role will be diverse and service user centred and would suit someone with significant experience in supporting young people and young adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities and their families.

The day to day work will involve a flexible approach to coordination and direct support for the young person and their family, as well as providing responsive communication at times of increased need. This is an exciting role which allows for the Key Worker to support families to navigate the system whilst advocating for them and ensuring that their voice is heard.

The service will be provided across the entire East Berkshire footprint covering: Slough, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell Forest.Although the team will be “virtual”, there will be frequent travel within and across the East Berkshire area, therefore being a car driver with access to a car is essential.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Working with your line manager and where delegated, the Apprenticeship Outreach Programme Manager, to create bespoke events and short courses for potential apprentices.

• Linking apprenticeship opportunities to  specific Sixth formers.

• Shortlisting Sixth Form candidates for any exclusive apprenticeship opportunities.
• Assisting the Sixth Form Outreach and Recruitment team with event planning, administration and delivery including outreach events (Careers Fairs, Open Days, Lift-off days, school visits to Ada and Keep Warm events. (This will involve commitment on some weekends and evenings during busy times.)
• Assisting with wider college events.
• Supporting the Sixth Form recruitment effort as needed through the administration of the application process.
• Keeping accurate records, inputting data into Ada’s systems and exporting relevant information to produce reports and dashboards.

Oasis South Bristol hub team is now in a position to employ a Community Project Worker to work alongside our Oasis Community Hub team in South Bristol and we are looking for a talented and adaptable person to join our busy team focussed on supporting our academies in Hengrove: Oasis John Williams and Oasis New Oak and the communities they serve.

The role will encompass community support activity as well developing and running school holiday provision. 

Key responsibilities will be:

• To provide enrichment activities to the children’s youth work to include holiday schemes, afterschool and lunch time clubs.
• To develop a strong food poverty programme and offer support for the community through adult education, wellbeing, advocacy/family support and volunteering opportunities.
• To work alongside the Strategic Community Development Leader to develop funding and volunteer capacity which can support the Academies holistically across all of the Hub.
• To engage and work with families supporting them to access Hub services and activities to develop their skills, knowledge and aspirations.

The successful post holder must have:

• Proven experience of community development
