About our Saturday Spanish School: Our Saturday Spanish School offers a vibrant, immersive space for children aged 5–12 to explore and strengthen their Spanish language skills. Tailored especially for Spanish-speaking families, the curriculum helps children build confidence in their heritage language through fun, interactive activities. At the same time, we warmly welcome learners from all backgrounds, creating a multicultural environment where language learning happens naturally through play, creativity, and meaningful social connection.

LAH obtained the National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education (NRCSE) Quality Mark at the Advanced Level in 2023.

About the role: As a Saturday Spanish School Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the lead teacher in preparing and delivering interactive lessons, including setting up materials, worksheets, visual aids, and digital resources

• Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture

• Accurately record student progress in the designated systems, using LAH’s tools and formats, based on teacher evaluations

• Attend relevant training or induction sessions provided by LAH

The purpose of the Bookkeeper position at Latin American House is to ensure accurate and timely financial administration, supporting the efficient management and smooth operation of the organisation’s financial activities. This includes processing invoices, tracking payments and expenses, managing financial documentation, and ensuring compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.

The Bookkeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting, audit preparation, and supporting senior management in overseeing budgets, payroll, and compliance.

By providing essential administrative support, the Bookkeeper upholds the integrity, efficiency, and transparency of LAH's financial processes, contributing to the overall success, sustainability, and governance of the organisation.

Main duties and responsibilities:

1. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records by:
● Accurately recording all financial transactions, including income, expenses, invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring they are categorised correctly in the financial system
● Regularly reconciling bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
● Maintaining and organising all financial documentation, including invoices, receipts, contracts, and financial reports, in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
● Ensuring that all financial data is entered into the accounting system in a timely manner and accurately, and keeping records updated as necessary, reflecting any changes or corrections

2. Supporting organisational income and expenditure processes efficiently by:
● Monitoring and tracking income and expenses across various budgets, ensuring all transactions are in alignment with allocated funds and any restrictions on specific funds
● Processing self-generated income from all LAH activities (e.g., Space rental, hall hire, Saturday School, etc.) by preparing related invoices, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and diligently tracking payment status
● Recording and processing utility bills, ensuring proper allocation of recharges where applicable
● Preparing payments on the CAF Bank platform for approval by authorised signatories

3. Assisting organisational financial compliance by:
● Preparing financial records for audits and financial reporting as required, ensuring compliance with tax laws, charity regulations, and other applicable legal standards
● Maintaining and updating the LAH’s inventory by accurately recording purchases, disposals, and changes in assets, such as IT equipment and furniture
● Assisting with payroll enrollment administration for new starters, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with relevant payroll procedures
● Collaborating with senior management to ensure adherence to LAH’s Financial Policy and internal financial procedures
● Supporting the development and implementation of enhanced financial systems and internal controls to improve efficiency and compliance

4. Other accountabilities:
● Attending team meetings and one-to-ones as required 
● Participating in relevant training or professional development to maintain and
improve financial administration skills 
● Carrying out any other bookkeeping-related duties appropriate to the post, as
agreed with your line manager

Marketing & Communications Delivery

• Deliver and support the implementation of our communications and marketing strategy across all channels (digital and print.

• Lead on a regular calendar of activity across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, BlueSky, YouTube) to maintain and grow a network of online supporters.

• Lead on maintaining and developing content for the Headway East London website (using WordPress and Elementor), including blog posts, service pages and events.

Community & Co-Production

• Work with our members (services users - people with brain injury), volunteers and staff to co-create content that reflects their voices and experiences.
• Ensure accessibility is embedded in all communications, including use of plain English, inclusive visuals, and a variety of formats.
• Engage the wider Headway East London community in developing campaigns, storytelling, and communications planning.

 Campaigns, Partnerships & Income Generation

• Support fundraising and development teams to plan and deliver digital campaigns that increase donations, engagement and awareness.

• Explore opportunities for brand development, partnerships and earned media that align with our values and strategic priorities.

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with local and national media outlets and stakeholders

Internal Communications

• Support internal communication needs across the organisation, helping teams stay informed and connected across multiple sites.
• Help develop internal resources and templates that enable teams to produce consistent, values-led communications.

About the PVRI
We’re a small charity with a global reach and an important purpose: to reduce the burden of pulmonary vascular disease (PVD) - a serious condition that can lead to heart damage and trigger symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, fatigue, poor growth, fainting, and light-headedness. PVD can reduce both quality of life and length of life, but it isn’t widely recognised or well-understood.

Our aim is to improve clinical care, education, and PVD research. To do this, we bring together an international network of thousands of clinicians, scientists, academics, and industry partners supported by our small team based in Bermondsey, London. Together, we deliver conferences, e-learning, and an academic journal, raise awareness of PVD, and encourage collaboration in research.

About the role
We are seeking a Marketing Officer to help grow and service the charity's profile and international membership, increase the value of our membership offer, increase our income generation, work with the team to run successful events, and deliver our e-learning programmes. You’ll help ensure our members are informed about the latest developments and learning opportunities, and they’re valued for their contributions to the PVRI. No two days are the same. One day, you might be writing content for our website and social media channels, and the next, you might be welcoming respected speakers and attendees from over 30 countries to our scientific webinar.

We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail. You’ll need to create successful marketing plans and grow our membership. You will also bring excellent organisational skills and the ability to co-ordinate high-quality webinars.

Age UK Croydon’s very successful Personal Safety Project (Falls Prevention) for older people in Croydon is recruiting a new Customer Service Liaison/Administrator. If you are an enthusiastic, passionate and organised individual, this could be the role for you.

Our Personal Safety Project (PSP) is a free service which aims to help older people who have fallen or are at risk of falling at home. The service is available to anyone aged 50 and over who lives in the borough of Croydon.

Our trained assessors carry out a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential causes of falls and hazards in the home and can arrange for stair rails, grab handles and other necessary aids to be supplied and/or fitted, free of charge. The project can provide ongoing telephone support for up to six weeks to monitor the risk of further falls post engagement.
