Organisation Overview

CDS UK (the Clinic for Dissociative Studies) is a psychotherapy service, established 25 years ago to provide assessment and long-term specialist outpatient treatment to people with dissociative disorders. Its patients have often suffered the most extreme forms of abuse over a long period, and represent one of the most vulnerable and complex client groups. CDS UK is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and an Independent Provider to the NHS, and is subcontracted by NHS commissioning organisations nationally on a discretionary perpatient basis, where local mental health services are unable to provide appropriate treatment. CDS UK has a small core team of employees, mainly based around London, and a larger group of associate therapists, support workers and supervisors working throughout England and in Scotland. The organisation has seen steady growth in referrals over the past few years.

Job Summary

One of the key elements of the role will be to manage a caseload of referrals from receipt of referral through to submission of funding application and referral outcome. The postholder will be one of two people within CDS UK’s core team with responsibility for this. 

There will also be an allocations management function, involving matching new (and/or existing) patients with suitable clinical staff, usually from within CDS UK’s group of associates, but sometimes via the recruitment of new practitioners.

The role will include a range of other tasks key to the successful functioning and development of CDS UK. Amongst these are maintaining a log of, and costing where appropriate, allpotential service developments (from requests for training to submissions to funders), developing reporting from basic information systems, checking and sending of patient progress reports and monitoring of patient funding. They also include developing our outgoing communications – such as via our website – and helping to explore opportunities for developing our charitable arm.

As part of our small Business and Administrative Team, the role will encompass some ad hoc administrative tasks, and may require delegation of some tasks and/or some line management duties as required.

The post-holder will work on their own initiative and independently deal with issues of workload and problem-solving, becoming a specialist in their areas of work within an agreed period, supported with appropriate training if required. This will include responsibility for analysing, interpreting and comparing a range of complex material, proactively reporting on key metrics, and helping to develop systems and procedures to serve the aims of the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical leadership and supervision to a number of therapeutic services within Richmond Borough Mind. Our developed and respected Psychotherapy and Counselling Service has been providing long-term counselling interventions to local residents since 1988. The service is self-funded and offers a range of therapies which aim to provide individuals with the support and opportunity to work through their difficulties in depth with a skilled and experienced trainee or fully qualified therapist. Sliding scale rates are offered to make sure that we are accessible to all. We also run a number of therapeutic, psychoeducational, support and peer-led one to one sessions and groups, training workshops and other activities.

We are looking for a skilled and qualified (or in advance training) counselling supervisor to provide clinical supervision, leadership, management and service development of our Psychotherapy and Counselling service. Knowledge and understanding of a number of modalities would be an asset.  Part of the role will be to help us achieve and maintain BACP or equivalent service accreditation and to grow the service.

Caseworker

Forces Employment Charity is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Caseworker to join our team working on the CFO (Co-financing Organisation) programme in partnership with the probation service. In this role, you will provide specialist support to veterans within the criminal justice system, focused on early intervention, support and diversion to prevent re-offending. You will work closely with probation staff, partner organisations and lead providers to identify, engage and deliver emotional and practical support to veteran clients.

This is a Full-time 35 hours per week, home based role with regular attendance at Lewisham and Croydon Activity Hubs and frequent travel throughout the UK. This role has a salary £29,000 pa.

This will be a fixed term contract till 31 July 2024.

For the CFO programme, Forces Employment Charity is working in partnership with probation service staff and other partner organisations to provide specialist support for veterans in the justice system.This support is focused on early intervention, support and diversion at point of contact with justice system in order to prevent re-offending.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

• Lead and manage Finance and Procurement, ensuring value for money, maximising financial efficiency through accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to inform decision making and projections related to the operational and financial functioning of Saint Paul’s.
• P&L reporting and responsibility.
• Managing and supporting the Finance Manager.
• Managing Payroll alongside Finance Manager.

· Monitoring of Citrus HR to ensure all team are using the programme to its full ability.

Facilities Management

· Proactively agree (and monitor) standards for buildings maintenance and adherence.

· Leading on our Carbon Net Zero journey.

· Business Continuity and Disaster Management Plan reviewing to ensure risk management/mitigation.

Other

· Strategic management of the Saint Paul’s Centre and all business related to it, ensuring we meet our targets and ensuring good working relationships with clients to help secure repeat business from large clients.

· Oversight of the café, helping to improve our offerings and ensure management of the team and operational effectiveness.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

You will be flexible and able to work dynamically to respond to needs as they arise, whilst keeping a strategic eye on upcoming opportunities and challenges. You will bring strength to the day-to-day running of St Paul’s, as well as be planning for the short-term and long-term future health of the team and church.

· 5+ years experience in operations management, with a proven track record of line management.

The Programme Manager role will report to the Senior Programme Manager and sit within the Programmes Team.

Short description of role:

As the Governance Manager and Board Secretary, you'll oversee the governance, documentation, and implementation processes of an institution. Collaborating with the Company Secretary as needed, you'll manage secretarial tasks and coordinate meetings for the Board, Council, and General Meetings.

As the Governance Manager and Board Secretary you'll:

• Ensure meetings are well-organised and documented. Work with the Board Chair/CEO to plan meetings, gather agenda items from the Leadership Team, and circulate agendas and reports on time. Take minutes, share approved minutes, and follow up on agreed actions. Handle invitations and distribute them both online and in person, updating email lists as needed.
• Manage records and administration for the Council, Board, Nominations Committee, and Benevolent Fund. Maintain organised files of agendas, papers, minutes, and reports, including decisions made and upcoming activities.
• Respond to committee correspondence and manage filing of received correspondence and replies.
• Serve as secretary to the Nominations Committee, ensuring proper protocols for awards and elections are followed.
• Recommend improvements to the Trustee Board regarding governance policies. Ensure changes to governing documents comply with regulations and liaise with relevant bodies when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory processes and deadlines.
• Assist in preparing the Institution's Annual Report, providing accurate information.
• Prepare the Trustee's Annual Report in collaboration with Trustees and the Finance Department.
• Complete reporting requirements within regulatory deadlines for the Benevolent Fund, including submissions to regulatory bodies and investment managers.
• Maintain and protect the Institution's trademark registrations.

Key requirements and experience:

• Supporting board and committee members, including minute-taking and proofreading, ideally in a membership organisation.
• Assisting committees, panels, and executive teams in developing and implementing policies.
• Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory guidance.
• Writing reports and producing summaries for senior-level consideration.
• Managing appraisals, providing feedback, training, and support.
• Familiarity with CRM systems, with a preference for hands-on experience in handling membership databases.
• Understanding of governance legislation for charities/nonprofits.
• Familiarity with professional codes of conduct
• Knowledge of trustees' roles and responsibilities.
• Understanding of committee and panel structures in professional institutions.
• Awareness of GDPR and organisational compliance.
• Strong organisational skills, able to manage committee workloads and meet deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The successful candidate will excel in diplomacy, maintaining confidentiality, and demonstrating objectivity. They will efficiently manage committee tasks, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and communicate clearly. Attention to detail, independence, and flexibility will characterise their approach, driving organisational improvement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems will further enhance their effectiveness. A background in working with membership or not-for-profit organisations, showcasing an understanding of the unique dynamics within the sector.

About the role

Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player? 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. If you are seeking a dynamic and engaging fundraising role which offers you the chance to play a pivotal role within a small but ambitious organisation, then this could be the job for you.

You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships (ideally with experience and success in employee engagement, corporate sponsorship, and/or operational partnerships).

The role also line manages the Senior Fundraising Officer post, a position that provides administrative and fundraising support across the whole fundraising team.  Please note that we are a small team and so you’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to help out team members and to support new business across other restricted income streams.

Our client Peter Bedford Housing Association is a housing association with charitable aims that create positive change in people’s lives. Based in Hackney, Islington and Newham, we work with people who are homeless, have mental ill health, learning difficulties and multiple needs. The role:

This part time (0.6FTE) post is located within the core services Team, and reports to the CEO. The postholder works closely across the organisation to deliver an efficient Office management, Reception and basic HR service to all managers and staff.

Aims of the post

• To manage the office, coordinating volunteers to provide reception and administrative services. 

• To coordinate and procure office and IT equipment.

• To carry out HR administration tasks acting as a first point of contact for managers and staff.

Specific Responsibilities

Office management

• Dealing with customer & external queries and disputes dealing with in bound and out bound communication, such as hybrid mail, post, phone calls and customer satisfaction surveys. 

• Organise Reception rota and cover, enabling opening hours to be fully resourced. 

• Dealing with petty cash.

• Managing phone and IT systems, contributing to new projects and upgrades.

• Ordering and facilitating meeting refreshments. 

• Promote and manage booking of rooms. 

• Manage all hardware e.g. laptops, phones etc and ordering office consumables.

• Managing small budgets and checking expenditure.

• Ensuring all new staff are set up with correct equipment and IT access e.g. laptops, phones, keys etc with good records kept.

Volunteer and Placement development

• Day to day supervision of customer services volunteers and placements.

• Recruit and plan for volunteers and placements, including contributing to individual learning plans and reviewing progress. 

HR administration

• Investment in staff - To be an impartial point of contact for employees and volunteers seeking HR advice if their line manager is not able to assist, signposting them as appropriate to other sources of advice and assistance. 

• Employment contracts and Consulting employees - To provide administrative support when consulting on Terms and Conditions, investigating Disciplinary and Grievances and any other related matters. To support the CEO to coordinate working groups across employees and volunteers. To administer staff surveys. 

• DBS checks - To undertake renewal DBS checks for all employees and volunteers and make recommendations as necessary to managers. 

• Managing information - To ensure good quality and accurate HR information management for all employees and volunteers with due regard to confidentiality and document control. To maintain electronic files and enable colleagues to make the best use of the HR database, Breathe HR. To facilitate references for former employees in partnership with managers and the CEO. 

• Payroll - To collate information, draft and seek authorisation of payroll changes in partnership with the CEO and Director of Finance. To support the annual pay review. 

• Recruitment - To coordinate recruitment processes in partnership with the recruiting manager. This includes liaising with the recruitment agency. 

• Learning and Development - To coordinate training suppliers and place bookings for courses in consultation with the CEO. To contribute to coordinating the annual Staff and Volunteer conference. 

Customer focused services

• Promote and support tenants/participants to access PBHA’s participation and co-production opportunities.

• Be supportive of PBHA’s ethos of maximising tenant/participant influence over the development of the organisation.

• To positively promote and signpost tenants and participants to report complaints in line with PBHA’s practice. To have a collaborative and co-operative approach towards resolving complaints, working with colleagues across teams and departments. To take collective responsibility for any shortfalls identified through complaints.

General Responsibilities

• Participate in key meetings.

• Contribute to policy development, income generation, strategic and annual planning, corporate and cross-team activities, external partnerships and promotional activities as required.

• Promote, develop and support PBHA’s ethos, values and impact.

• Provide cover for other managers and workers.

All staff are expected to: 

• Work co-operatively as part of a team and with other teams.

• Be involved in the selection and training of new workers and volunteers.

• Participate in staff training and development activities, one to ones and all relevant meetings.

• Ensure the observation of all PBHA’s policies and practices, including those relating to equality and diversity, data, health and safety, financial control, standing orders, sustainability, recruitment, supervision, appraisals, sickness and disciplinary.

• Plan and organise own work with a minimum of day to day supervision.

• Undertake all other reasonable duties.

Access Information 

The Kingsland Hub site has one level and is accessible to wheelchair users.

Main Conditions of Service

This is a part time position. The post is for 22.5 hours per week. It is expected that the hours will be delivered on 3 full days (to be agreed) each week but alternative arrangements, ie 4.5 hours per day for 5 days, may be acceptable. Duties will occasionally be carried out over evenings and some public holidays. Overtime is not paid but in line with Agile working, hours can be averaged out over a 2-week period.

Annual leave entitlement is 26 days per year plus normal bank holidays pro rata. This will rise after each completed year of service to a maximum of 30 days – pro rata.  

Salaries and expenses are based on PBHA’s salary scales and are revised each year. The salary for this post will be in the range of £35,692 pro rata per annum and the starting salary is £35,692 (£21,415 for 22.5 hours per week).

The post holder will be auto enrolled to be a member of the organisation's contributory pension scheme if eligible.

In common with all posts at PBHA, confirmation of appointment is subject to a probationary period (6 months). The notice period for this role is four weeks.
