Abbey Community Centre is a vibrant, long-established community charity at the heart of Kilburn, North West London. Every day, we bring people together, reduce isolation and improve health and wellbeing through inclusive activities, services and community support.

We are now looking for an experienced Centre Operations Manager to play a key senior role in ensuring our busy community hub runs safely, smoothly and effectively for the thousands of people who use it each year.

About Abbey Community Centre

Abbey Community Centre works with people of all ages and backgrounds, with a particular focus on older residents and low-income families with young children. We deliver a wide range of activities, services and support including children’s stay-and-play sessions and drop-ins, fitness and wellbeing activities, befriending schemes, digital inclusion support, community meals, warm space provision, food support, volunteering opportunities and specialist outreach.

Alongside this community delivery, we manage a busy public building and a programme of room hire that helps generate income to sustain our work. With a small staff team, over 100 volunteers and many partner organisations, our operations need to be reliable, well-coordinated and people-centred.

The role and its impact

As Centre Operations Manager, you will be the organisation’s senior operational lead on the ground. Working closely with the CEO, you will hold delegated authority for the day-to-day running of the Centre — ensuring the building, people and systems all work together to support high-quality community activity.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining practical problem-solving with people management. You will line manage and help develop operational staff, oversee facilities and contractors, lead on health and safety and operational compliance, support volunteering, and ensure organisational systems and processes function reliably.

Your work will directly enable staff, volunteers and partners to deliver activities and services safely and confidently, and will help ensure Abbey remains a welcoming, accessible and well-run space for the local community.

What you’ll be working on

In this role, you will:

• Oversee daily building operations, maintenance and contractor management

• Lead on health & safety and related compliance, including risk assessments and training

• Line manage & develop operational staff and support a positive, consistent working culture

• Ensure operational policies and procedures are applied effectively in practice

• Support and coordinate volunteering within the centre

• Manage operational budgets and contracts within agreed limits

• Act as a senior member of the management team, deputising for the CEO on agreed matters

Key details

• Location: Abbey Community Centre, Kilburn (NW6 4BJ, London Borough of Camden)

• Hours: 24–28 hours per week (fixed hours agreed at appointment), worked over a minimum of four weekdays

• Core hours: 11.00am–4.00pm (flexibility outside these hours by agreement)

• Contract: Permanent, part-time

• Salary: £40,000–£42,000 per annum, pro rata (depending on experience)

• Annual leave: 30 days pro-rata, rising to 35 days after 5 years’ service (plus bank holidays, pro-rata)

• Some evening and occasional weekend working is required

About Working Well Trust

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment.

We are recruiting Employment Advisors to join our IPS service, you will be based in the Beam Park Health Centre in Rainham, Barking and Dagenham, working 35 hours per week. Working Well Trust's services have previously been awarded the IPS Grow quality mark and adheres closely to the principles of the IPS model in supporting people in to employment. This role will be working with clients who have mental health support needs, wanting to gain paid employment. 

Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our passion and commitment to employment as an integral aspect of wellbeing and supporting people to find the right job for them. You will receive training on the IPS model and in supporting people with mental health issues. We welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health, either personally or through a close contact.

You need to have a desire to support people to achieve their employment goals, and the ability to multitask and manage your workload effectively. Good organisation skills are essential for this role, in addition to an interest in mental health, and the role it plays in the workplace. The successful candidate will need to become comfortable in approaching employers, and showcase the advantages of our service in order to work with them to recruit our clients to fill vacancies and sustain employment.

What you’ll be doing

You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental health support needs, to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences. You will deliver the IPS approach (for which training will be given); providing person centred support and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment.

You will work as part of a mental health team (NHS Trust) maintaining positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery through employment. You will work closely with clinical teams, providing a coordinated approach that always remains client led.  

You will spend up to 65% of your week working in the community of Barking and Dagenham to provide localised support to residents of the Borough.

You will also be working to targets whilst maintaining a high-quality service. 

What you’ll need

Experience in employment support is not essential. We are looking for someone who brings:

• A genuine desire to support people into meaningful employment.
• Commitment to person-centred work and either experience of or enthusiasm to learn the IPS approach.
• Confidence engaging with employers and promoting the benefits of our service.
• Good organisation skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with immediate operational responsibility and strategic outreach portfolio leadership.

As the Senior Manager: Specialist & Outreach Services, you will provide strong, visible leadership to Catalyst Support’s specialist and outreach provision, with an initial core focus on the Cuckooing Assertive Outreach Service. Managing the cuckooing team, you will provide direct operational oversight while developing and leading the service, ensuring safe, trauma-informed, high quality delivery and effective partnership working across Surrey.

You will work closely with, and be based regularly within, Catalyst’s Women’s Support Centre, supporting services working with women affected by domestic abuse, on their journey of recovery and living with complex trauma.

Alongside this, the role is designed to grow into the strategic and operational leadership of Catalyst’s wider Specialist & Outreach portfolio, bringing coherence, quality and sustainability across services working with people experiencing multiple disadvantage.

The role is line managed by the Director of Services and you will play a key role in shaping the future operating model for specialist and outreach services.

About you

We are looking for candidates with:

• A relevant professional qualification in mental health, substance use, criminal justice, social care or a related field and/or substantial equivalent professional experience, with a strong applied understanding of trauma-informed and outreach-based practice.
• Significant experience working in specialist, outreach or community-based services, supporting people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including exploitation, domestic abuse, substance use, mental ill-health and criminal justice involvement.
• Proven experience of managing staff and services in complex environments, including line management, supervision, and leading programmes or projects within operational settings.
• Strong Safeguarding knowledge and sound professional judgment with experience of holding safeguarding decisions in multi-agency contexts.

About the role

In this role we will trust you to work with other team members on a caseload of clients delivering personalised support to them. You will proactively engage with our clients and provide a hand so they can overcome barriers, move into independent living and sustain a tenancy. Our clients have a range of support needs that impact their experience of homelessness. This includes mental health problems, social isolation, challenging behaviour, finance and debt, alcohol and drug abuse. You will deliver structured support and do some risk management so we will trust you to keep proper records and complete some admin tasks. This includes, reviewing support and risk plans, involving key stakeholders where required, showing and signposting our clients to appropriate external support and services, following safeguarding procedures, do some cleaning and contribute to the delivery of a housing management service including collecting income. Main Purpose Of Job:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team in a dual-role capacity, supporting two vital services run in partnership with Homeless Oxfordshire and Connection Support. The role covers both our Step Down provision—designed for individuals discharged from hospital under the Discharge to Assess model—and our service at Mawle Court, which provides temporary accommodation and support for people with complex needs, including those preparing for more independent living or in need of emergency provision. Working as part of a small, dynamic, and enthusiastic team, you will be responsible for delivering a safe and supportive environment across both services. You will lead on the case management of clients with complex needs, working collaboratively with partner agencies to develop and implement holistic, individualised support and move-on plans. This is a senior leadership role managing our two flagship frontline services - Antifreeze and Gateway. You will lead 6-8 key workers and 30+ volunteers across two sites, overseeing day centre operations, street outreach, one-to-one keywork, group activities, and strategic initiatives.

As a member of the senior leadership team, you'll shape trauma-informed, dignity-centred services whilst contributing to our longer-term vision of tackling root causes of poverty.  You will develop our services to be ready for new initiatives around housing and community-based support.  In addition, you will have the role of Deputy Safeguarding Lead for the wider organisation.

The Antifreeze Programme exists to break the cycle of social and spiritual poverty amidst homelessness, providing tangible steps towards a permanent home and long-term stability. Since 1998, Antifreeze has been a safe and warm space for members, offering faith-based, practical support services that restore dignity and hope. At our Day Centre, we provide hygiene facilities (showers & laundry), medical drop-ins, and essential survival provisions to meet immediate needs. Through 1-to-1 sessions, we support members with housing applications, benefits, and financial stability, while goal-based workshops equip them with skills to attain permanent homes and ethical employment. Our discipleship sessions encourage an advanced understanding of the Christian faith, offering fellowship and spiritual growth. To address digital poverty, we offer computer access for job searches and reconnecting with loved ones.

Beyond practical support, Antifreeze fosters healthy community relationships, improves mental health awareness, and helps members move toward ethical employment, reduced reliance on substances, and a forever home.

Operational Management

General Overview

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and supporting all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders, and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

As the Devon Service Manager, you will oversee all the adult ITRS team and be instrumental in developing and sustaining networks, partnerships and new networks across Devon.  You will be responsible to the Head of Service and be part of the service manager team working closely alongside the other service managers.

Alongside your service manager colleagues, you will play a key leadership role in the delivery, development, and oversight of high-quality services for individuals impacted by domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking, as well as for those who use harmful behaviours. You will be part of a team managing a diverse portfolio of services spanning prevention, crisis intervention, behaviour change, survivor recovery, and professional training. These include in-person interventions and digital platforms, therapeutic services and outreach across all age groups and communities.

You will be responsible for ensuring that our services are trauma-responsive, culturally competent and inclusive, with a strong focus on safeguarding, survivor voice and best practice. You will support teams to deliver consistently excellent support, ensure contract compliance and drive continuous improvement and innovation in a changing landscape.

As part of the Service Manager team, you will also hold strategic responsibility in scoping new projects, supporting research and business development opportunities. You will also ensure that the wellbeing and development of our people is at the front of our management and leadership priorities.

As the Devon Service Manager, you will have experience working with health professionals in a management or training capacity, and a comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed practice and managing risk. This service takes an innovative approach to both delivering training to GP surgeries and providing therapeutic support to patients referred to us via surgeries who have received our training.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.

This role may include evening and weekend work when required.

Operational Responsibilities

• Service Delivery Oversight: Ensure the smooth and effective daily running of services across all areas—domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, behaviour change, survivor recovery, and training—delivered both in-person and digitally.
• Leadership and Management: Role model trauma responsive and inclusive leadership. Ensuring all staff and volunteers are effectively performance managed and live the charity’s values and have all appropriate resources to achieve excellence in their field. Work alongside colleagues from across FearFree to provide support, assistance and management to over teams where required.

• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and analyse performance data to assess impact, identify trends, and inform service planning. Produce high-quality reports for internal leadership, commissioners, and funders.
• Partnerships and Representation: Maintain strong local and strategic partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies. Represent the charity in multi-agency forums, commissioning meetings, and stakeholder events.
• Crisis and Incident Management: Support staff with complex or high-risk cases. Lead operational responses to critical incidents or safeguarding escalations in collaboration with senior leaders. Provide Duty Out of Hours cover as part of a Senior Management Rota for safeguarding and incident management.
• Volunteer and Student Engagement: Oversee the safe and meaningful integration of volunteers and student placements into service delivery, ensuring appropriate supervision and development opportunities.
• System and Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in operational systems and work with others to develop streamlined, integrated processes across services and reporting tools.
• Strategic Oversight: To take part in, and contribute to Executive Leadership meetings as required, providing operational guidance.
• Budgets and Financial performance: Carefully monitor and evaluate both financial and non-financial performance and create contingency plans to predict and rectify any variables. Contribute to the creation of annual and budgets and financial targets.
