We are looking to recruit an Employability Officer with our Language & Learning team which supports integration through three key areas: employability workshops and advice, digital skills training and non-accredited ESOL classes. 

We are seeking someone with a good understanding of the issues and challenges faced by job seekers, particularly those whose first language is not English, to support migrants in their search for sustainable employment.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in empowering individuals, particularly those affected by changes to their right to work, to rebuild confidence, develop skills and move towards long-term employment. Working closely with the Employability Adviser and the wider team, they will deliver high-quality, person-centred support through our employability programmes, while also contributing to wider team activities and workshops that promote inclusion and opportunity. 

Essential skills include the ability to juggle challenging caseloads and conflicting priorities; experience of supporting vulnerable individuals and dealing with safeguarding concerns; a thorough understanding and commitment to equal opportunities and experience of working with a CRM.

Essential information

Hours: 35 hours per week (full time) with flexible hours/working pattern

Salary: £24, 715 to £27,832 (depending on experience) per annum plus 6%

Support Coordinator Duties:

• Provide outcome focused support to enable clients to lead fulfilling and valued lives, maintain their tenancies, participate in their local community and much more
• Effectively meet the needs of our clients and to take additional responsibilities such as rota management, induction of staff and staff supervision
• Work in a flexible manner which may including working evenings and weekends and sleep in’s
• Participate in our local On Call
• Administering medication

As well as providing direct support, the Support Coordinator role also requires some off rota time, which has been developed to support the management of service delivery. About The Role

You will play a key role in ensuring the service complies with contract requirements and meets KPIs.  Your focus will be to providing administrative and office support to ensure the most effective delivery of Helpline Plus telephone casework services and undertaking administrative projects to improve systems and practice for the benefit of staff and clients. You will also input data on our CRM system and have extensive telephone contact with clients, so good verbal communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service are essential.

About You

You will have considerable experience in a client/customer service role and experience in handling incoming calls and making outbound calls to clients and partner organisations.  You also have fast accurate keyboard skills and experience of using a range of IT tools including case management systems and databases and Microsoft Office applications, along with experience of administrative systems and office management.

About The Team

Helpline Plus telephone Casework team is a team of experienced specialist housing and debt advisers. We have four teams of advisers based in Shelter’s Sheffield office. We work with multiple external referral partner organisations to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Helpline Plus provides legal advice and casework to enforce the rights of homeless people and assists those facing possession action or orders for sale to remain in their homes. We negotiate with councils, lenders and landlords to try to prevent court action.

Due to the nature of the service we can provide prompt access and may take on emergency cases, in particular to people who are beyond the reach of face to face services.

About the role
As a key member of the Intake and Navigation team, you will provide initial intake navigation and support to service users. The team serves as the first point of contact for service users seeking access to health and wellbeing services.

The Organisation

The Independent Living Service (Direct Payments) is a new service that will provide support to Direct Payment users within the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The service will enable Disabled people to have genuine choice and control over the way in which they lead their lives. The post-holder will be working alongside disabled people to enable them to have more choice and control over their care and support needs.

The Role

In this role you will be providing essential information, advice and support to individuals from diverse backgrounds. You will work with Disabled clients to empower them to take control of the support they need by using Direct Payments, employing their own staff and accessing activities or services. You will ensure that individuals have the right information to make informed choices and will help them to set up and manage their chosen support.

You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience of budgeting and recruitment are essential for this role.

Experience of working in social care is not essential as training will be provided, however a “can-do” attitude, a commitment to a person-centred approach and a willingness to learn is a must. Being part of a small team, there is a lot of opportunity for you to develop and learn new skills.

The work is varied and calls upon a wide range of skills, and there is huge job satisfaction in supporting people to achieve greater wellbeing and independence.

We’re excited to have launched a brand new Housing First service in Camden, and we’re looking for a passionate, skilled individual to join our team! You will be working in a unique new service that for the first time will be offering support to couples who have been rough sleeping and are to be accommodated separately in their own flats. With a three-year commission and the ability to support 30 individuals, this is your chance to be part of a fresh and impactful initiative within our organisation. You will work from a base in Kings Cross, delivering support in the community and within the homes of your clients. You will carry a case load of 5 people and will provide intensive and flexible trauma informed support that is centred around the strengths and needs of everyone. You will work closely with a wide range of external statutory agencies and specialist colleagues in the team who will include: a health worker, an IDVA, psychologist, sessional occupational health, and perpetrator support. 

The service will support an equal number of women and men. The people given priority for the service are likely to have been rough sleeping for prolonged periods, have been multiply excluded from services and have co-occurring conditions. There will be a strong emphasis on safety in situations that might relate to complex abuse within relationships and externally. 

About you:

• Experience working with clients who experience multi disadvantages, including building trust and positive relationships with people who have co-occurring conditions and who may be mistrustful and have a low level of engagement with services.
• A proven track record of achieving measurable outcomes with clients with complex needs.
• Awareness of the intersection between severe and multiple disadvantage and violence against women and girls (VAWG), and an understanding of how the intersection of these issues can be supported and the people involved safeguarded.
• To show leadership qualities; skills of a strong negotiator; ability to advocate and be diplomatic.
• A level of numeracy, literacy and comprehension to input data, the ability to be fully self servicing in the use of emails and the common computer packages including SHP’s client recording system.

As our Caseworker, you will provide a comprehensive and holistic assessment which links arrest to accessing community support, bringing police custody and community together in collaboration to support and or divert women from further offending.  This will involve delivering an outreach service that includes advocating on behalf of women, providing a practical service that will include supporting access to drug and alcohol treatment services, health services, community services, learning support and addressing the importance of healthy relationships.

Developing effective relationships with all relevant agencies, building an understanding of key referral routes, actively promoting good partnerships, and sourcing and developing joint working opportunities at all levels of the project is also a key duty.

As our A&E Hospital Intervention Caseworker, you will assess referred clients and produce support and risk management plans based on your assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, and including appropriate agencies in the delivery of the service.  You will also develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies, including hospital, police, local authorities and other voluntary organisations, plus to liaise closely with other St Giles teams with reference to referrals, avoiding duplication.

We will count on you to deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, where you will provide a practical service that will include social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options, benefits work and debt advice. Closing cases efficiently and positively, identifying a referral route for the client that will identify agencies that can be used for on-going support, and promoting the value of lifestyle changes to the client group are also essential duties.

The Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer will work alongside the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications to help deliver Rising Sun’s fundraising targets during this exciting period of growth for the charity.

The main focus of the role is finding, attracting and stewarding new funders to help deliver Rising Sun’s life changing services. You will write compelling funding proposals that demonstrate the impact of our services and how we meet funders’ requirements. You will build strong relationships with grant officers from various foundations, providing regular updates and communicating challenges, solutions and successes as appropriate to develop our reputation as an effective, reliable and trustworthy organisation.  Alongside this you will be nurturing our existing portfolio of funders to help prioritise multi-year funding.

Working with you in the Fundraising Team will be the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications, Trusts and Foundations Officer, Community Fundraising Officer and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Team. As part of the team you will help to develop fundraising materials such as case studies, impact reports and cases for support.

We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who loves building and nurturing relationships and has a passion for fundraising. In addition, you will have excellent writing skills and experience of generating income from trusts and foundations to grow our income from this stream. As part of our committed team of approximately 50 staff, you will be contributing to the invaluable work of the Rising Sun and making a lasting difference to the lives of those who have experienced domestic abuse.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and manage part of Rising Sun’s portfolio of income and fundraising activities related to trusts and foundations.
• Keep the trusts and foundations stream of the funding pipeline healthy and up to date, carrying out research into new opportunities and meeting application deadlines. 
• Write compelling funding applications that answer funders’ questions and effectively communicate the mission, services and impact of Rising Sun.
• Develop appropriate fundraising tools, such as cases for support and impact reports.
• Support the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications to write bids for commissioned services and government funding opportunities.
• Liaise internally across the organisation to become familiar with our services and stay up to date with current trends to feed into funding applications and develop project proposals.
• Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including survivors and grant officers.
• Be responsible for the management of successful trusts and foundations grant agreements and reporting requirements, working with the wider team to gather information and data as required.

Immigration Caseworker/Solicitor

Salary: SCP scale 35, £44,711 pro rata

The post-holder will provide advice and casework in the category of immigration, nationality and asylum law. This project will focus on casework for domestic violence victims referred by Local Authorities and other partners across London. They will also work closely with partner agencies providing consultancy and taking referrals of individuals and families needing immigration advice. The post holder must also undertake training and provide second tier support for community agencies.

IKWRO - Women’s Rights Organisation is a registered charity (number 1151507) which supports Middle Eastern women and girls living in the UK who are facing “honour” based violence, forced marriage, domestic violence or female genital mutilation.

As well as providing support to individual women and girls, we run training for professionals and campaigns for better laws and policies to protect women’s rights. We are recruiting an Immigration caseworker/solicitor, who is able to model skills in safely engaging women based on mutual collaboration, trust and empowerment.
