Age UK Wandsworth is an independent local charity. We've been working in the local community to help older people for over 60 years. We have dedicated staff and over 300 volunteers helping us to deliver services and activities for older people in Wandsworth.

An opportunity has arisen to join our growing Community Engagement Team assisting older people and/or vulnerable adults to improve or maintain their overall wellbeing and stay independent for longer whilst enabling them to retain, gain or regain independence.

The Community Engagement Project Assistant role will include delivering groups and activities, hosting events and working with clients in their homes, within our day centre, and in community settings such as libraries, job centres, sheltered accommodation and other voluntary sector organisation hubs.

The service aspires to support, but is not limited to, older Wandsworth residents in the following groups: BAME; dementia; digitally isolated; financially isolated; LGBTQ; socially isolated; women; and those with, or at risk of, mental and/or physical ill health and disabilities.

BEO is a civil rights charity that was set up to challenge and dismantle systemic racism. We work with Black communities by using campaigning, policy and research in conjunction with the law to effect meaningful change. 
Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism. 

In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom. 
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO. 

Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO.

Reports To: Bike Project Manager

Pay: £12 per hour

Our aim is to be the first port of call for people in Dacorum who are facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion; to support and empower them to take the next positive step in their lives.

Our Social Enterprise projects, including the Bike Project, provide training and work experience opportunities to enable people to develop new skills and improve their confidence and employment prospects. The project also generates income for DENS to reinvest in the development and running of our services, helping more people in the future.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a professional bicycle workshop or similar environment, and using bicycle maintenance tools and equipment to repair and recondition donated bikes to a high standard. We are looking for someone who can engage our clients and empower them to develop skills for work and for life whilst supporting the Bike Project manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Bike Project as a whole.

OVERALL PURPOSE:

  · To assist in the reconditioning of donated bicycles to a high standard, ensuring their safety and suitability for sale to the general public.

· To provide training and guidance for DENS clients, passing on your skills and supporting them to improve their confidence and employment prospects.

· To assist the Bike Project manager in the overall smooth running of the Bike Project workshop and retail space.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist the Bike Project Manager with the overall day to day running of the bike project (workshop/retail unit and client training programme).

· Carry out inspections of donated bicycles and the required maintenance work to bring them to a road safe/sellable standard (under the supervision/guidance of the bike project manager).

· Supervise our client volunteers and provide guidance on bike maintenance techniques, tailoring your approach to the individual.

· Maintain our high standards of health and safety and cleanliness within the workshop/retail unit, including the safe use and storage of bikes, tools, parts and accessories.

· Provide a high standard of customer service to all customers and visitors to the workshop.

· Represent DENS in a professional manner both on site and at occasional community events.

· Develop and maintain effective working relationships, collaborating with all staff and volunteers and work to achieve the DENS aims and organisational strategy.

Job Summary

To be the initial point of contact for customers accessing Huddersfield Mission services. To provide initial stage advice and assistance on a variety of needs. Main Responsibilities

The Head of Counselling has overall responsibility for the smooth running of the clinical services, the recruitment of suitable counsellors, supervisors, and Strides HCC team to ensure the maintenance of high standards of service delivery. 

The role is an integral part of Strides, working with the CEO and other Heads of services to support the continuous development and delivery of services in line with Strides’ strategy. 

The main purpose of the role is to provide effective management and leadership of Strides HCC. The role focuses on the strategic development of the project, the financial management and financial sustainability of its operations, and the overseeing of all aspects of the clinical service delivery and clinical governance. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To be accountable for all aspects of clinical governance in the service, reporting back to the CEO as required.

• Organise and chair the steering group meetings, review minutes and report back on actions and progress.

• Responsible for ensuring service(s) meet contractual, funding and legal obligations as applicable.

About the role

The London Library is planning a major, multi-year building project and is looking for a Senior Facilities Officer - Project Management to work within the Buildings and Facilities Management team to help support and deliver the project.

As part of a small, hands-on team, this new role will also support the Library’s maintenance and improvement programmes, arranging contractor works and providing liaison with colleagues across the Library. The post reports to the Buildings & Facilities Manager. Some weekend and out of hours working will be required.

About you

You will hold an appropriate formal qualification within a relevant discipline, with previous experience of facilities project management, preferably in the charity, cultural or not-for-profit sector. A proven background in either FM or managing numerous refurbishments and maintenance projects is essential, along with experience of working in construction and maintenance environments, understanding and compliance of H&S law and construction regulations.

We are looking for an experienced Housing Advisor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is passionate about enabling people to overcome homelessness and poverty.  You will have gained a minimum of two years’ experience of housing advice and casework through paid or other voluntary experience. A legal qualification would be an advantage.

You will be part of a friendly and supportive team of experienced housing advisors and welfare rights specialists.  You will use your in-depth knowledge and experience of providing specialist housing advice to provide a structured information, advice and casework service to clients of the centre in housing law, housing options and aspects of welfare benefits that relate to housing and homelessness. You will manage your own caseload and provide advice, support and training to staff who are not specialists in this area to enable them to assist clients with less complex enquiries.

You will be able to draw on the support offered by colleagues from the Centre’s other teams (Assessment and Advice, Immigration, Employment and Learning, Family Services and Supported Accommodation) to ensure that your clients have access to the help need not only to deal with their immediate housing problem, but also to tackle any underlying issues and to build resilience against similar issues arising again.

Hybrid working – split between our central Liverpool office, home and client venues  

This job is all about working with the local third and public sector to engage with local people to create change. To make this happen the role has three key bits to it: 

• listening to what local people want (gathering the insights)
• building a vision for a ‘better way of doing things’ (planning to make change), and 
• getting stuck in to support our clients and wider team to make things happen (doing the stuff we’ve planned). 

Each day you’ll be shaping and delivering Capacity’s current and future projects, managing expectations, excitement, and priorities - keeping a smile on your face and a spring in your step. Even on the busiest of days our Designers and Doers remind themselves why they’re in it, finding the get-up and go to make public services, people services. 

The to-do lists you write and the skillsets you engage will vary hugely, one day you might be working on recruitment strategies for social workers, the next on service design for family early help, another strategy planning for a primary care team. When job descriptions say ‘no day is the same’ that can often feel twee, at Capacity - it’s a promise. 

You’ll spend your time being proactive - delivering on our promises to clients and local people, whilst staying ready to catch any ‘off-project’ work that might need sorting along the way. You’ll support us to get new clients on board but also play a key role further engaging our existing ones, making sure they continue to feel connected to Capacity and proud to be involved in the work we’re doing. 

The projects we deliver are often complex and things won’t always work out. For that reason, you’ll be open and honest about what’s working, what isn’t and where you might need extra support. KEY DUTIES

• Liaising with external suppliers and customers

• Formulating and setting up supplier payment runs

• Preparing and Filing invoices, data entry

• Responsible for credit control

• Reviewing and posting staff and credit card expenses

• Managing all financial records and daily bookkeeping of the business

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks accounting software

• Process Accounts Payable and ensure invoices are coded

• Preparing monthly Bank reconciliations and credit card transactions

• Assist with the budgeting and forecasting function

• Assisting with the preparation of Year-End audits

• Managing petty cash

• Monthly payroll and pension duties

Your work will play a vital role in providing expert legal advice and representation to our vulnerable clients, free of charge. As access to free or low-cost legal advice becomes scarcer, this support is now more important than ever.

You will collaborate across all our teams, particularly with the NRPF (No Recourse to Public Funds) and the Policy teams. This role offers the opportunity to engage closely with key campaigns and projects, with a view to influencing change within the legal and governmental landscape.
