About the role:
The Foundation/Domestic Abuse Prevention Practitioner (FDAP) will play a key role in working directly with individuals using harmful/abusive behaviour within their intimate relationships. The role will include suitability and risk assessments, delivery of interventions, facilitation of group programmes, risk identification, information sharing and preparation of reports for courts and other agencies.
The FDAP Practitioner will be co-located into Priority Crime Teams situated in Newport Police Station to assist with the identification, screening, and engagement of individuals using harmful behaviour in their relationships, working closely with police to provide a timely and streamlined process for earlier identification, referral, and engagement/disruption of high harm perpetrators of domestic abuse.
For this role is it essential you have excellent understanding of domestic abuse, including the impact on victims and their children. Experience of working with individuals experiencing domestic abuse/ and or causing harm. Experience of group work delivery is desirable; however, we will consider applications from candidates who demonstrate an aptitude for the role.
You will need to be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver the best possible outcomes within a multi-agency setting. As well as being tenacious in support of your clients and adept at problem solving.
IT literacy is a must and candidates must evidence both the ability to use bespoke packages and excellence in their recording practice.

Pause works with women who have experienced – or are at risk of – repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care. The programme gives women the chance to pause and take control over their lives, breaking a destructive cycle that causes both them and their children deep trauma. We are now working with more women who have experienced multiple removals than anyone else in the country.
The Pause Practice Lead will manage one of our largest teams – six Pause Practitioners and one Coordinator. The Practice Lead will ensure effective delivery of the Pause programme – they will work alongside their team, bringing a wealth of direct practice experience of complex work to maximise the team’s potential.
The Practice Lead will provide high levels of supervision and leadership to team members from a variety of disciplines, as well ensuring fidelity and integrity to the model. They will typically have significant experience in both operational and project management, with an ability to manage complex data and demonstrate impact. Additionally, they will usually have experience of evidence informed approaches.
Key responsibilities
- Effectively lead and coach the Pause Practice to achieve positive outcomes for women - setting vision, targets and priorities;
- Ensure fidelity and integrity to the model through delivery of the Pause Framework elements, for example, assertive outreach with women and ensuring the most effective form of long-acting reversible contraception is in place;
- Ensure effective pathways are established and maintained with key agencies, e.g. sexual health, housing and mental health;
- Ensure an evidence base is applied to practice through assessment of a woman's needs, case formulation, intervention delivery and review;
- Ensure outcomes are achieved and monitored through the Pause Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework and that real-time data is used to improve practice and reported to relevant funders;
- Report to the Local Pause Board and any other relevant funders;
- Manage expenditure of the Pause Practice and ensure any financial spend on women is aligned with their goals as set out in the care plan;
- Ensure the effective management of all statutory requirements related to the Pause Practice at all times, including safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults, and health and safety of staff;

In this role as a Senior Maintenance Administrator, you will be responsible for a small team of administrators and ensure that they deliver a good repairs and maintenance service to their residents. You and the team will be the main point of contact for their residents, and staff, to report problems or repairs related to their properties. You will also deal on a daily basis with their Maintenance Operatives and external contractors and raise and chase the status of orders issued to them to carry out the required work. The Job
The welfare of our dogs is very important to us. We have a no kennel policy and all our dogs live in the homes of volunteer puppy socialisers for about the first 20 months. We are committed to providing quality training and support for all our dogs, and the volunteers who look after them.
We are looking for someone with the skills, experience and passion to join our team of trainers responsible for organising and monitoring the progress of our puppies and young dogs to ensure they receive the highest standard of socialisation and early training, thereby maximising their chances of becoming a Medical Detection Dog.

Responsibilities
Training and Development of Puppies
· Take responsibility for a cohort of puppies allocated to socialisers living in your geographical area.
· Provide training that meets the charity’s quality standards and in accordance with timescales and targets.
· To deliver effective training by holding puppy classes, 121’s and home visits with socialisers in your geographical area.
· To prepare the puppy to be a Medical Alert Assistance Dog.
· Regularly monitor progress of the puppies in your area and provide detailed, evidenced feedback to the senior team within Dog Supply and training.
· Support and assist with the potential matches for a particular assistance dog partnership and in consultation with the Socialising Trainer Coordinator, provide any client specific training needed prior to the match.
Socialiser Support
· Be the first point of contact for the socialisers in your area, which will include guidance and instruction to socialisers on handling, behaviour and training of the dogs under your supervision.
· Provide general health care advice within your core working hours.
· To support when required on dog emergencies that arise out of your core hours.
Socialiser Recruitment
· Assist in the recruitment of new volunteer socialisers.
· Carry out home checks to assess prospective new socialisers.
Other
· Update the Harlequin CRM database in a timely fashion to ensure accurate and up to date training, veterinary and health records.
· Support the charity’s fundraising, communications and volunteering teams as required, specifically in relation to your area.
· From time to time you may be required to have a dog live with you for additional training for a set period.
