The Hospice of St Francis is a charity with a powerful history and has provided outstanding hospice care for over 45 years. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC since 2016, The Hospice helps 2,000 local people and their families in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, to live their lives well. Care is tailored to individual’s needs, supporting people recovering from life threatening illness, those living with a diagnosis that will result in premature death and support for family and friends in caring and through loss and grief. The Hospice works to deliver care, at Home, at the Hospice in the Health and Wellbeing Centre and in-patient unit.

The Hospice has invested in digital development. The Director of Media and Digital income oversees income to the value of £400k with a trajectory for growth. This includes all appeals, promotion of established products like legacy giving and matched funding programmes. The legacy pipeline was redesigned in 2024 with an award winning film “I will 1%” inspired by the work of Richard Ratcliffe. The Hospice is one of over 100 Hospices working with Hospice UK to promote legacy funding at a national and local level with a combined campaign. Investment for the future means The Hospice has a centrally managed people and systems team, this includes management of our CRM (Donify), enabling the Executive Team report on KPIs with internally triangulated data for better decision-making. The Hospice is also working with Finegreen to recruit an interim Head of Philanthropy to review the approach to philanthropy to date and make clear recommendations. A third party will deliver market research to update intelligence on current and potential markets for supporters. With innovation at its core, The Hospice has embedded ‘everyone’s a fundraiser’ into the organisational culture. This includes an embedded fundraiser in clinical services for a faster response whenever a person receiving care and support expresses an interest in becoming a fundraiser.  All of this ensures our Fundraising Directorate can now focus on ‘in real life’ or ‘in person’ fundraising, identifying and working with new cohorts of supporters, assure continued innovation in facilitating meaningful giving experiences, running high profile events to unite people behind a shared cause, challenge events and new approach to philanthropy.

As our Director of Fundraising, you will be an innovative strategic leader, a people person who combines humanity with data driven decision-making. Your role includes leading an experienced team to deliver over £2.5m in income annually and steward £1m in legacies, with the opportunity to make your own appointments to lead philanthropy. As part of the strategy of the Hospice your business case development will deliver an additional ≥£1m by 2028, in a trajectory for growth. An adept storyteller with a passion for Hospice care – you will lead strategic partnerships, working cross sector and operating effectively at Board/Committee. You will be accountable for identifying, testing and implementing fundraising approaches not typically used to date in the sector, including new philanthropy, donor advised funds and social investment models with a pipeline for delivery of new income. You will research and develop strategic alliances built on value exchange, where individuals and organisations come together to define the benefit of this collaboration and commitment to donate/invest. An accessible, visible and credible ambassador you will build networks to garner support across the community. There will be opportunities to represent the Hospice in external partnerships and projects locally and nationally.

Working closely with colleagues in Finance and Legal, you’ll help to maintain a robust and reliable income stream that directly supports our life-saving work across communities.

About You

• Demonstrable experience within a related role in Charity Legacy or Estate Administration
• Demonstrable experience of using databases such as Dynamics 365 and Microsoft applications
• Evidence of effective relationship management with a range of external stakeholders including solicitors, lay executors and auditors

About the Role

• Manage and maximise legacy income by overseeing cases, monitoring legal/admin costs, and ensuring compliance with policy and best practice.
• Act as the main point of contact for solicitors, executors, supporters, and third-party suppliers to maintain strong relationships and communication.
• Lead on complex and high-value cases, offering expert advice on probate, tax, and legal matters while escalating as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting, working with Finance and Database teams to ensure audit compliance and effective forecasting.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as an Health Advocate Educator supporting women and children who are impacted by domestic violence. 

The Health Advocate Educator will train and provide ongoing support to GP practices and other health professionals to enable primary and secondary care staff to be able to effectively talk to their patients about domestic violence and abuse (DVA), provide early identification and offer appropriate care pathways for female, male and non-binary survivors of domestic violence and abuse, aged 16 years and over and their children.

The post holder will work in partnership with the local ICB and the service manager to proactively develop and maintain links with health providers in the local area.The post-holder will work within a defined locality, either Stratford-upon-Avon District; North Warwickshire and Nuneaton and Bedworth, or Warwick District and Rugby borough; building links with health professionals and support agencies.  

Travel around Warwickshire for client appointments essential to role, therefore use of a car essential.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

Hours required: Flexible, although most sessional counsellors work with a minimum of 8 clients a week.

We are recruiting a General Advice Officer to support with the delivery of advice and welfare support to vulnerable guests who access the Community Wellbeing Service, a local support hub offering relief from the rising cost of living for local families. The General Advice Officer will support our guests on a range of areas including benefits, immigration, housing, money management and access to training and employment services. The postholder will provide high quality welfare advice and guidance through weekly one-to-one advice sessions, undertake case work, work with partners to facilitate referrals, and provide support to advice volunteers. 

The successful candidate must have at least two years’ experience delivering effective advice or in a similar capacity, demonstrate empathy, an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people, and have in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of welfare benefits and housing policies/legislations, with a strong focus on achieving tangible outcomes for our guests.

Advice Work

• Carry out assessments to identify urgent needs and appropriate support pathways for members at the Community Wellbeing Service.
• Support outreach or community engagement activities as needed.
• Provide holistic and person-centred advice and casework on the main enquiry areas, particularly welfare benefits, housing, employment, health and wellbeing, immigration and money management.
• Maintain Sufra’s Advice Quality Standards and meeting tangible outcomes.
• Produce detailed case records on our case management system for the purpose of continuity, statistical monitoring and report preparation
• Apply for funds from trusts and foundations to support individuals and families with essential costs such as housing deposits or white-goods and/or cancellation of debts;
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders for joined up working, including statutory and voluntary service providers, making referrals for guests where appropriate.
• Enable and support guests to act for themselves, wherever appropriate.
• Monitor the progression of all cases to the point of resolution.
• Conduct follow-up calls with guests where needed and track outcomes
• Support volunteers who are working on delivering Advice Services e.g triage volunteers and pathways volunteers
• Provide advice to the General Advice Service as and when required

Case Management

• Manage own caseload and work independently to support guests
• Use of Case Management System (AdvicePro) as well as Microsoft Office for communication and document production.
• Support with developing case studies and gathering guest feedback
• Collect statistical information as requested for reporting purposes.
• Feed into the development of monitoring reports for funders and other stakeholders

Other Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the charity’s record of referral and signposting agencies;
• Ensure data protection regulations are adhered to, and that sensitive data is handled in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational procedures.
• Keep informed of new and changing legislation relevant to the post, and of local issues and policies
• Be committed to the aims, procedures and policies of Sufra’s advice service in every aspect of service delivery.
• Take part in supervisions, personal development training, team meetings and appraisals
• Undertake any other reasonable duties to support the operations of the charity.

HOSPICE NURSE (NIGHT SHIFTS)
Location: Saint Michael’s Hospice, Crimple House, Harrogate
Bank Hours Contract for Night shifts only over 7 days a week.

£18.12 per hour rising to £18.65 per hour plus an enhancement of 30% from 5pm to 8am Monday to Friday and all-day Saturday. 60% enhancement apply on Sundays and bank holidays.

Established in 1996, Dialogue School Counselling is a BACP accredited school counselling service covering Sussex and Surrey.

We are recruiting for qualified counsellor or therapist with experience of working with primary age children to join our team and deliver our service at Burstow Primary School in Horley, Surrey from September 2025.

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about making a difference to lives of the children and young people they work with. You will have a keen interest in and experience of working with children and young people of primary age.

Key responsibilities

• Run a suitable appointment system flexible to the needs of the school, offering students appropriate assessments and counselling appointments
• Manage the tight time boundaries of the role and the often complex and varied workload
• Liaise with school staff over referrals, waiting lists and appointments
• Carry out initial clinical and risk assessments and establish appropriate referral pathways with other services where appropriate. Continually assess risk throughout each student’s counselling.
• Follow YMCA Dialogue safeguarding procedures; to know who the School’s Designated Safeguarding Officer/s is and how to contact them when a safeguarding concern arises
• Work at all times within the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions
•  Maintain individual membership of the BACP and to become a Registered Member (or other professional body such as HCPC)
• You will establish good professional working relationships with key school staff

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience

• You will have a Counselling or Psychotherapy qualification, minimum Level four and ideally level six, and two years’ post qualifying experience in individual counselling or therapy with young people. This will include working with risk issues
• You will also have a sound understanding of child protection and vulnerable adult safeguarding issues, policies, and procedures
• You will have proven experience in safeguarding children and young people, responding to, managing, and referring safeguarding issues
• You will have a BACP Membership; BACP Registered or Accredited. Or other professional body e.g. HCPC
• You will have a keen interest in working with children and will be familiar with using creative therapeutic approaches, along with experience of working in a school setting 

Can you help us to support new dads and dads-to-be?

We are recruiting a Dad Matters Coordinator to help us reach more families in Brent. This is a great opportunity for someone with parenting experience to support new dads at a critical time in their parenting journey.

The Dad Matters Coordinator will support dads with attachment and bonding, mental health and access to services. You will have the ability to work with professionals and healthcare services to ensure dads are engaged, supported and heard within clinical pathways. Additionally, you will help develop and run group sessions with dads and will be at the forefront of growing our volunteering opportunities.

No formal experience of healthcare, mental health services or children's services is required - you will just need the compassion and skills to enable dads to have those difficult conversations, and talk about how they’re really feeling.

We are looking for someone proactive who is keen to make a difference. Someone with good people-skills, who can build on our existing relationships in the borough. The work requires a regular presence in Brent for visibility, field-based community engagement and training.

YMCA DownsLink Group has been delivering counselling and therapeutic services to children, young people and families through our YMCA Dialogue Service in community and school settings for over 25 years.

Dialogue in West Sussex is a thriving, dynamic and key part of the Therapeutic Services portfolio. The role of Therapy Lead provides an opportunity for an experienced Counsellor to be part of the coordination and delivery of an innovative mental health and wellbeing service. You will also hold a counselling caseload of children and young people as part of this role.

The Therapy Lead combines clinical oversight of referrals, assessments and the delivery of high-quality therapeutic interventions to children, young people, families and carers across West Sussex with the line management of colleagues. You will take a lead role in managing risk, identifying the needs of service users and stakeholders and working with internal and external stakeholders. You will support our Counsellors, Clinical Leads and the Service Manager to work with the Single Point of Access (SPoA) across West Sussex.

Mind in Enfield and Barnet is a fast-growing charity in North London providing much needed therapy, wellbeing support and advocacy services to people with mental health problems. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Community Care Coordinators to support some of our most vulnerable users of emergency services. These roles have been developed to further support our service users alongside our statutory partners at North Middlesex NHS Foundation Trust Emergency Department, to increase their wellbeing, confidence, social integration, and independence.

The successful candidates will be responsible for working with service users during periods of crisis and support them through their journey of recovery to ensure that they are receiving the support most beneficial to them. This will be achieved through a person-centred approach to ensure that the views of service users are central to the planned support they receive.

The successful candidates will take a lead in working with service users to assess needs/barriers preventing clients from recovery, working with them to create a personal action plan, and monitoring and evaluating outcomes and progress.

Independence will be encouraged through self-management and recovery.

The roles will involve working in the community and with the wider team as well as our partner organisation North Middlesex NHS Foundation Trust Emergency Department to ensure that the community is kept up to date with the services that we are offering and the strong reputation of Mind in Haringey as a leading provider of mental health services in the borough is maintained.

This is a part-time position (20 hours per week), between the service hours of 9am-5pm (Monday-Friday)
