The Friends of Moorfields is a registered charity supporting the patients and staff at Moorfields Eye Hospital, a world centre of excellence for the specialist treatment of eye diseases.

The Friends provide a range of services to support the work of the hospital – including the purchase of clinical equipment – and manage a team of volunteers.

The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-starting individual looking to develop a career across the breadth of communications, media and PR in the digital age. Based at Moorfields Eye Hospital, the post holder will be inspired by the difference Friends staff and volunteers make to patients and staff at Moorfields. They will be passionate about seeking the most engaging ways to communicate across digital and social media platforms. They will work closely with the health hub, shop and volunteer team and will be committed to raising the profile and awareness of Friends of Moorfields.

The post-holder will be an all-rounder; someone who is comfortable working on their own initiative, is well organised, and who enjoys the challenges of supporting a small and friendly team. They will be supported to grow and develop in this role, through an active approach to training and development, and through a positive and empowering working environment.

Key Accountabilities

1. To promote Friends externally and manage our website content.

3. To contribute to, edit and produce our quarterly newsletter and information leaflets.

Health & Safety Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Officer to join our Estates Team. In your role as the Health & Safety Officer will be to provide support on an operational basis to the health & safety function.

Role Requirements

• Promote good stakeholder involvement and good safety culture
• Prepare and issue monthly health and safety briefing documents / toolbox talks
• Keep health and safety information up to date, including all fire safety documentation (fire emergency plans, fire safety manuals etc.), the health and safety section of the intranet and shared documents
• Carry out regular walkabouts, including at retail stores, keeping in touch with staff on their safety arrangements and ensuring control measures are in place and effective
• Provide health and safety training and coaching on topics such as, but not limited to, general health & safety (induction and refresher training), fire safety, COSHH, risk assessing and manual handling
• Develop and refresh internal online training to support staff learning experiences
• Carry out general risk assessment, as required, with particular emphasis on retail, regulatory requirements, outings and the clinical environment.
• Update fire risk assessments for low to medium-risk buildings, tracking completion of actions and updating compliance software
• Manage COSHH risk assessments and the COSHH risk register, checking on suitable PPE and storage
• Manage compliance with workstation assessments, including homeworking, using the external management system
• Support teams, enabling them to carry out their risk assessments, including manual handling assessments for inanimate activities

You will work as part of a mental health team (NHS Trust) maintaining positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery through employment. SOS Rape Crisis (SOSRC) is an independent specialist sexual violence charity providing support for adults (regardless of gender), young people and children who have experienced sexual violence and/or child sexual abuse, in Southend, Castle Point and Rochford.

We are part of Synergy Essex, a partnership of three Rape Crisis Centres (SOSRC, SERICC and CARA), funded by the Office for the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex to provide a countywide ISVA service.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a dedicated team providing vital support to survivors of sexual violence and abuse. As a Navigator Project Worker, you will be the first point of contact for individuals accessing Southend-on-Sea Rape Crisis services. You will offer compassionate, trauma-informed, and needs led support, helping survivors feel heard and understood from the outset. Through careful assessment and informed referrals, you’ll play a key role in connecting survivors with the most appropriate services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a professional and empathic first point of contact for survivors of sexual violence and/or abuse.

• Offer one-off emotional and practical support, and provide information, signposting and onward referrals.

• Complete initial assessments to identify their needs and most appropriate next steps.

• Keep accurate, timely and confidential records on the case management system.

• Work in partnership with SOSRC colleagues including the Counselling and ISVA Teams.

• Attend team meetings, one-to-ones, clinical supervision, line management and other meetings as required.

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection legislation and guidelines.

Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust provides maternity and neonatal care for women and birthing people and their babies each year, providing all aspects of obstetrics and midwifery care in our labour ward, midwife-led birth centre and home birthing service.

NEL Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) listens to the experiences of women, birthing people and families, and brings together service users, staff and other stakeholders to plan, review and improve maternity and neonatal care. MNVPs ensure that service users’ voices are at the heart of decision-making in maternity and neonatal services by being embedded within the leadership of provider trusts and feeding into the Local Maternity and Neonatal System and Integrated Care Board. This influences improvements in the safety, quality, and experience of maternity and neonatal care. West London Centre for Counselling (WLCC) is pleased to offer an excellent opportunity to join our team through a full-time, salaried NHS Recruit to Train position.

Successful candidates will:

• Be employed by WLCC
• Join the Tavistock Relationships training programme
• Begin training as part of the September 2025 cohort and complete by September 2028.

About the Programme

Building on the success of previous cohorts, NHS England is funding new opportunities starting September 2025.

This three-year programme offers:

• Full tuition coverage
• Salary support funding
• Completion of foundation-level counselling training
• Specialist NHS Talking Therapies modality training in Couples Therapy for Depression (CtfD)

NHS England funds:

-Full tuition fees across the 3-years of the programmes

Important Eligibility Information

Course structure and requirements

The National Curriculum for High Intensity Psychotherapeutic Counselling within NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression outlines the full details of the course structure. To summarise, the following outlines the key training requirements:  

· A 1-year core psychotherapeutic counselling foundation level training, which also introduces the chosen NHS Talking Therapies modality. Following sign off for readiness, trainees can begin to practice at West London Centre for Counselling with people with mild to moderate depression

· Followed by, a 2-year post-graduate diploma (PGDip) in psychotherapeutic counselling (minimum 120 credits at Level 7)

· A minimum of 450 supervised client hours gained within a NHS Talking Therapies service

· A minimum of 450 training hours (skills and theory)  

· A minimum of 50 personal therapy hours  

· A minimum of 90 minutes of training supervision to every six hours of client work (or the equivalent for group supervision), or 90 minutes per week if they have completed less than six hours of client work in the week

· NHS Talking Therapy services will be responsible for supervision on site, including oversight of case management, clinical governance and management supervision in line with the supervision requirements of the NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression manual.

· An average of two to three days per week of clinical practice in NHS Talking Therapies services

· Individual accreditation (professional registration) with a professional body in line with the NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression manual (see the manual for more details)

The role

You will be part of a small team that works collaboratively towards making a huge impact on the lives of the children and families we work with. We look for people who want to be part of a service that is innovative, creative and constantly striving to do better.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrative Coordinator to support our Assessment and Therapy Service. This vital role ensures smooth operations by managing scheduling, case tracking, document management, and communication with families and professionals. You will be a key point of contact for up to 30 active cases and work closely with internal teams and external agencies to facilitate high-quality service delivery.

You will be involved in the development of the service and your views, and insights are encouraged.

· Schedule and coordinate internal meetings and therapy consultations

· Provide administrative support for allocated assessment and therapy cases

· Maintain and update electronic records (Charms, SharePoint)

· Proofread, format, and distribute clinical reports and correspondence

· Liaise with families, therapists, Local Authorities, and partner agencies

· Assist with service costing, funding proposals, and contract tracking

· Assist in service evaluations, complaints management, and internal reporting

You will have regular informal guidance and formal supervision on a monthly basis. You will be part of the wider service of Family Futures and attend monthly Team Days to learn, share and develop the service and your practice.

This is a varied and rewarding role supporting the smooth running of our flagship print and digital publications – including our scientific journals, relaunched member magazine and a wide range of guidance, resources and reports.

You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative content team, working closely with colleagues across the organisation and external partners including publishers, editors and contributors. From coordinating journal meetings and liaising with editorial boards, to proofing new content and preparing communications for members, no two days will be the same.

What you’ll do

• You’ll provide administrative, communications and editorial support across all our publishing activity, including:
• Leading the day-to-day administration of our scientific journals and supporting editors, publishers and board members.
• Coordinating key publishing schedules and meetings, following up actions and maintaining accurate records.
• Supporting the production and promotion of our member magazine, liaising with contributors and clinical advisors.
• Copy-editing and proofreading content, ensuring consistency with our house style and brand guidelines.
• Uploading and maintaining key publications on our website, including clinical guidance and audit content.
• Supporting our member engagement activity, including Fellowship ceremonies
• Providing administrative support, including developing a presentation bank for senior internal stakeholders.

 
What you’ll need

• Experience in or knowledge of publishing or content production – whether in an academic, scientific or commercial environment.
• Strong copywriting, proofreading and editing skills, with excellent attention to detail across multiple formats.
• Confident communicator with the ability to work with editors, suppliers and internal teams with professionalism.
• Familiarity with web publishing, content management systems and, ideally, tools such as InDesign and databases for analysis or reporting.
• Organised and proactive, with experience juggling multiple priorities, coordinating meetings, and keeping projects on track.
• An interest in the wider publishing landscape and a keen eye for spotting issues before they arise.
