I have a brilliant opportunity working for a newly created charity, as their Digital Communications Officer, working remotely in the UK. In this role you lead the development and delivery of the charity’s digital communications, ensuring their messages and campaigns are clear, engaging, and accessible across all platforms. The charity is a national gambling harm prevention organisation, which provides, training, education, advice, and resources. They are looking for a passionate individual with an interest in addiction, mental health, public health, healthcare, commercial determinants or suicide prevention.
As Digital Communications Officer you will shape how the charity presents itself to the public, stakeholders, and partners – amplifying voice and enhancing the reach and impact of their work. You’ll work closely with the small team, to understand needs and come up with creative content and messages.
The charity has been created by a more established charity, so whilst it’s in its infancy, the charity is derived from knowledge and experience. The charity will be growing, and therefore, this role will grow and develop too.
Your experience:
- One of their key audience’s is young men, and younger audiences, so they would love to find someone with knowledge of how to get their attention, and knowledge of emerging digital trends (TikTok, SnapChat).
- Experience managing social media accounts and creating engaging content across platforms (e.g., X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, SnapChat)
- Excellent written communication skills with ability to tailor messages for different audiences and platforms
- Experience of website hosting/management
- Experience planning and managing paid advertising campaigns across digital platforms (e.g., Meta, Google Ads)
- Ability to analyse and optimise campaign performance to improve reach and engagement
- Familiarity with basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) and confident in creating visual content
- Experience using email marketing software (e.g., Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor)

The Email Marketing Executive plays a key supporting role in the planning and delivery of our email communications.
This role is responsible for supporting effective email campaign delivery by collaborating with stakeholders to shape email plans, providing feedback on content, and ensuring journeys are well structured and delivered to a high standard. The postholder will also be responsible for reporting on campaign performance and providing actionable insights to support ongoing improvement.
You will work directly with the Email Channel Owner and contribute to ensuring consistency and efficiency in delivery and compile regular reports on email performance. Collaboration, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of email marketing best practice are essential for success in this role.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Email platform proficiency: Experience using email marketing tools, ideally Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Understanding of best practice: Familiarity with email marketing standards, GDPR compliance, and optimisation techniques.
- Email design awareness: Understanding of layout, branding, and accessibility in email templates (design tools a bonus, but not essential).
- Collaborative working: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders, creative teams, and technical colleagues.
- Attention to detail: High accuracy in reviewing and deploying emails, managing timelines, and following processes.
- Analytical skills: Ability to interpret performance data and generate actionable insights.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
- HTML: Basic ability to code and troubleshoot HTML emails when required.
- AMP script: Basic ability to build and amend Salesforce Marketing Cloud scripts.

Role Summary

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Leadership

Develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with organisational growth and strategic goals

Lead all fundraising streams, prioritising the development of our relationships with trusts & foundations and corporate partnerships

Agree on income targets, KPIs, and a robust pipeline to meet current and future funding needs

Report to the CEO and Board on fundraising performance, risks, and opportunities
Trusts, Foundations & Grants

Identify and develop opportunities for major grants and philanthropic funding (including from Government stakeholders) and then cultivate and sustain relationships with donors

Write compelling funding applications and impact reports to secure and retain grant income

Maintain relationships with key funders and proactively seek multi-year funding opportunities
Corporate Partnerships

Identify and secure high-value corporate partnerships aligned with The Cyber Helpline’s mission and values

Develop innovative, mutually beneficial partnership packages, including sponsorship, pro bono support, and employee engagement

Enable corporations to fundraise for our mission

Build a sustainable corporate pipeline through networking, stewardship, and thought leadership
Individual Giving & Community Engagement

Build an individual giving programme, exploring opportunities for regular giving, campaigns, digital fundraising and major donors

Support the development of community fundraising and challenge events with long-term potential

Work with the comms team to create engaging supporter journeys and fundraising content

Engaging our team members - and their networks - to engage in fundraising activity
Internal Leadership & Collaboration

Work with the CEO and leadership team to embed a fundraising mindset across the organisation

Collaborate with operations and finance to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and grant management

With Board approval, Recruit and Line manage fundraising staff and/or freelance support as resources permit
Requirements
Candidates must be 18 years old or older and resident in the UK with the right to work in the UK.

Proven experience of achieving significant fundraising goals, ideally in a small-to-medium charity environment
