Job description

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Network Support Assistant to join us on a fixed-term contract. The role sits within the friendly Campaign Activism Team that provides key expertise to help grow, deepen and diversify our network of environmental justice activists. The Network Support Assistant plays a key role by supporting our network of volunteer Climate Action Groups and Friends of the Earth local groups across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

As Network Support Assistant, you’ll be engaging first-hand with volunteer groups, providing advice and guidance to help them campaign on local environmental and social justice issues and take part in Friends of the Earth’s priority campaigns. You will work with colleagues across the organisation to coordinate responses to activists, help manage the network database, and provide administrative support to ensure groups have the training and resources they need to campaign effectively.

This is a perfect opportunity for anyone wishing to begin a career in the not-for-profit sector and wanting to put their skills towards protecting people and planet. It requires an understanding of grassroots campaigning, excellent communication skills, and some experience providing administrative assistance, whether in a paid or voluntary capacity. If that’s you, and you’re a driven, organised, detail-oriented person who likes to come up with solutions to problems, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing date: 22 August 2021

Interviews: 15, 16, 17 September 2021

In return we offer a competitive range of benefits, good work/life balance, excellent learning and development opportunities and a vibrant organisational culture.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are especially keen to encourage applications from people currently under-represented in the environment movement.

Friends of the Earth is an international community dedicated to protecting the natural world and the wellbeing of everyone in it. We lead campaigns, provide resources and information, and drive real solutions to the environmental problems facing us all.
