About the Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Fellowship, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering retention strategies that underpin long-term financial sustainability. Leading a busy Services team, you will ensure excellent day-to-day service delivery, handle high volumes of member queries, and manage complex issues with diplomacy and care.

Using data-led insights and innovative campaign approaches, you will develop targeted retention initiatives, continuously improving renewal rates and fostering a strong sense of belonging among members. With responsibility for a budget of approximately £280K and generating nearly £6 million in annual income, this role is crucial to the organisation’s financial resilience and mission.

Background to the organisation and the role 

The JustMoney Movement is a Christian charity, with longstanding relationships across the Catholic, Anglican, Nonconformist and Pentecostal denominations. We have a vision of a fairer, greener future, and we believe money is integral to shaping that future. Our work is mostly online and our team work largely remotely, with some team members coming together in a shared office space in London regularly. The financial system and wider economy are harming people and planet, leading to crises in our climate and nature and to huge economic inequalities. We rebranded from ECCR to the JustMoney Movement in 2022 to reflect our aim to build a movement of people seeking a more just use of money. Our theory of change is that we need to draw together a diverse range of Christians, churches and Christian networks, as part of a broader movement, to help create political space for financial and wider economic system transformation.

Our current strategic priority is to increase the reach, depth and diversity of engagement of Christian individuals, congregations and networks in the UK with the JustMoney Movement, in order to have a meaningful impact on policy and practice for a fairer, greener future. We do this through a range of activities including: 

• Education and training on finance and economics e.g. our Money Makes Change hub, to harness churches’ large ‘financial footprint’ for social and environmental impact. 

• Communications and campaigning e.g. via our Church Action for Tax Justice campaign and on green and fair banking, channelling the churches’ grassroot scale, reach and influence to maximise public pressure. 

• High level influencing and thought leadership, convening faith leaders and organisations, to resource a credible, distinctive voice on economic transformation. 

This role: Head of Operations (part-time 14 hours a week) 

The Head of Operations will work closely with the ED and support the team in the smooth running of the organisation. 

Role Requirements 

​​The role would assist the ED in identifying and implementing operational processes to help turn the organisation’s vision into reality and measure its impact.​  This grade of role is expected to have a substantial degree of personal responsibility and autonomy, including responsibility for whole areas of work, the work of others and the allocation of resources. ​​ ​​​ ​​ 

​​​Particular areas of work include:​​ ​​​​ 

• ​​​​​​​​As part of the staff team, contribute to organisational strategic planning and action planning.​ 

• ​​​With the ED, maintain a strong governance framework for the organisation including working with the ED, trustees, and contractors to ensure a robust and well-functioning ​​Board  and the meeting of regulatory requirements such as around GDPR, risk assessment, and charity law.

• Support stakeholder relationships through oversight of our CRM and developing donor reporting tools. 

• Carry out discrete operational tasks e.g. arranging insurance and dealing with Companies House and Charity Commission queries as necessary.

Person specification 

Essential 

• Empathy with JustMoney Movement’s vision and work. 

• Experience of operations responsibilities within a charity. 

• Exceptional organisational skills, including attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. 

• Ability to grasp operational complexity and yet communicate clearly to non-specialists.

• Grade 3.1 expected FTE salary £36,771 pro-rated to 0.4 FTE/ 14 hours a week = £14,708.

• Remote based: this role will be based from home, with occasional travel to meetings in London or elsewhere in the UK. This role is equivalent to 2 days a week but hours can be worked flexibly through the week.

We need an Operations Support Officer to support the team with day-to-day logistics covering general administration, finance and communications. Our hope is that this role will evolve and the successful candidate will continue to progress within this growing and impactful organisation. 

About the role  

• Hours: 15 hours per week spread across the week.

• Duration: One-year contract, renewed subject to funding.

• Location: Home-working. We are a fully remote organisation, and this role can be based anywhere in England as all meetings are held online.

Would you like to contribute to a unique research programme that plays a key role in advancing knowledge about cancer prevention?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work on World Cancer Research Fund International’s Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global). CUP Global (previously known as CUP) is a unique, long-standing, and rigorous research programme that systematically gathers, analyses, and judges the strength of the global evidence on how diet, nutrition, physical activity and body weight affect cancer risk and survival. This work led to the publication of the authoritative Third Expert Report in 2018, which now needs updating in places to remain relevant and impactful. 

As Senior Research Interpretation Officer, you will be a valuable member of the Research Interpretation team and the CUP Global scientific Secretariat. Your core work will be supporting the management of CUP Global on a day-to-day basis to help deliver its main objective of updating the Third Expert Report. You will provide scientific input, administrative support, and help coordinate specific work areas of CUP Global.

We are looking to recruit someone who has a Masters degree in public health sciences, particularly nutrition and/or cancer research, and with a good understanding of epidemiological concepts. We are seeking someone with experience of writing scientifically, copywriting, editing and proofreading, with good attention to detail and with experience of reviewing and interpreting scientific research/literature. We require someone who can co-ordinate and manage projects, who can produce concise, well-constructed, written communications with the ability to present orally to various audiences in a clear and persuasive manner, and who can provide administrative support, including taking meeting minutes and writing professional emails.

Purpose of This Role: 

This is a new, pivotal strategic role to shape future policy and practice in how faith communities support social prescribing for the benefit of local communities. Building on the emerging body of research around the connection between faith and health, this role will take the lead at a national level influencing, shaping and convening partners to unlock and unleash the significant resources of faith groups in contributing towards holistic healthcare delivered within the community.

The purpose of this role is to lead and co-ordinate NASP’s national work on social prescribing with partners across the faith sector and enable a better understanding of how to work effectively with faith communities through social prescribing, and the role that faith and belief plays in supporting good health and wellbeing. The role will work to improve accessibility of community support through social prescribing. The role would have a particular emphasis on access and health inequalities due to faith groups’ reach into deprived communities and ethnic minority communities.

The role sits in the National Leads team and will work alongside colleagues leading on the key areas of the natural environment, physical activity, historic environment, arts and culture, children and young people and older people.

Person Specification: 

Role Overview: 

• Act as the faith lead within NASP, being the point of contact and key advocate for faith communities’ involvement in social prescribing

• Represent and develop faith groups’ engagement in NASP’s existing activities, programmes and events in a similar capacity to the other area leads

• Have a specific focus on connecting social prescribing and the health inequality agenda through faith communities 

Experience & Knowledge: 

• Excellent knowledge of the VCFSE (Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise) sector, and ideally the health sector or social prescribing

• Experience of working at a senior level in the faith sector. Experience of working within the health sector as well would be highly desirable.

• Understanding/experience of health policy and working with local communities/faith communities

• Excellent partnership building and interpersonal skills with experience of building trusting long-term relationships with partners and experience of inspiring, convening and supporting organisations to work in partnership.

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, both internally with peers and senior management, and externally with partners and stakeholders.

• Understands the pressures that faith organisations, health and care agencies, VCFSE organisations and community groups face and where resources have been stretched.  

• Great planner and project manager, able to produce project plans and budgets and co-produce delivery plans with partners, identifying risks and managing them together.  

• Ability to write funding applications and develop new donor relationships to secure new funds.

• Liaise with and support new and existing initiatives to build an evidence base for faith-based social prescribing.

• Ensure engagement of faith communities themselves in developing social prescribing strategy and policy, working with relevant partners.

• Provide high quality advice and insight on faith activity and services in support of NASP’s strategy development, communications and external briefings and meetings. and to enable NASP’s healthcare integration team to support the strategic development of faith SP at Integrated Care System level and secure place-based investment. 

• Map current tools, resources, guides and evidence and publish a ‘one stop shop’ online to enable better commissioning and delivery.

• Build consensus on the key policies required for the scale and spread of social prescribing for faith communities across stakeholders; a joint vision of ‘good faith-based SP’. 

• Identify and shape partnership opportunities to secure additional funding and resources to help build capacity to enable future social prescribing activity to better support people’s health and wellbeing outcomes.

• Enable awareness raising, shared learning, training and best practice within the faith sector and with other key social prescribing sectors.

• Budget Management - including day to day management, raising and processing payments and reporting.
