The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner to join their team in London or Brussels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution in a newly created role.   

As Finance Business Partner will help ensure that the financial processes and procedures of the Clean Air Fund run smoothly, efficiently and effectively, for the project and ensures enabling support to our project team members to be effective.

You will provide support across both the CAF’s Finance and project team and will take a business partnering approach in helping provide a robust financial service, particularly to our Programmes team (primarily in the EU) and our grantees (pan-EU and in nine EU Member States) to ensure new and existing grants are well managed and implemented. This role reviews and approves the financial and operational aspects of Clean Air Fund’s grants and projects, including due diligence and budgets.  In this role you will, alongside the Global Finance Manager, support the relevant portfolio teams as well as the Project Director, Head of Europe Portfolio, Executive Director of Programmes in managing their grant making budgets and with grant forecasting.  

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience;

• Experienced finance business partner with grant financial management experience and a solutions focused approach.
• CCAB Accountancy qualification or equivalent by experience
• Sound knowledge of Charity SORP
• Experience of working in a global facing organisation and ability to adapt working style where appropriate
• Experience of building relationships with senior stakeholders and working collaboratively across teams. Ability to take a business partnering, solution focused approach.
• Able to analyse complex financial information and present it in a simple, easy to understand format
• High quality written and verbal communication skills
• IT proficiency (most specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in English. Additionally, knowledge of French would be considered an asset.

Given the lifelong nature of MS, these relationships can span decades, making it essential that we engage meaningfully with the healthcare community. By fostering strong partnerships, we can ensure that more professionals are equipped to share evidence-based lifestyle interventions and offer hope from the very beginning.

Why this role matters

Since 2012, Overcoming MS has been at the forefront of promoting an evidence-based approach to the self-management of MS using healthy lifestyle choices alongside medication. Although there is no cure for MS, we help people with MS to live well by making informed lifestyle choices.

Over the past 18 months, we have laid a strong foundation for this work:

· Identifying key barriers to supported self-management in MS.

· Co-developing educational resources to support healthcare professionals

· Piloting projects with healthcare professionals.

· Refining and presenting data to demonstrate the value of our approach.

Now, we are ready to build on that momentum—and we need you to take it further.

Key responsibilities

· Lead the successful delivery of the Healthcare Engagement strategy, identifying and promoting engagement with our key audiences and stakeholders, in accordance with the NHS 10-year plan.

· Raise awareness with healthcare professionals of the importance of healthy lifestyle in managing MS symptoms and disease progression, resulting in expanded access to supported self-management for people with MS.

· Lead the development and delivery of strategic projects that engage healthcare professionals.

· Raise the profile and credibility of Overcoming MS, our information, events and courses, positioning us as the go-to charity for lifestyle and living well with MS.

· Increase the impact of our HCP education module, through our existing partnership with the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine, marketing the education widely, evaluating its benefit to HCPs and strategically reviewing the format, vehicle and content as appropriate.

· Work closely with our internal Evidence Gathering Group, our Medical Advisor, and Information and Research Manager to facilitate the development of the relationship, profile and reach between the charity and the health and social care sectors.

· Develop a wide network of key healthcare professionals to inform our strategy, provide expertise, expert review of materials, and content (podcasts, webinars, blogs)

· Co-produce posters, abstracts and academic articles to present at key conferences.

· Identify and attend key healthcare events and conferences, building networks, partnerships and other resources to increase knowledge and awareness.

Other responsibilities

· Create meaningful engagement with the MS community and healthcare professional partners, widening our reach to support more people with MS.

· Empower people affected by MS and their healthcare professionals to discuss lifestyle modification and the Overcoming MS Program with confidence, improving self-management and health outcomes.

· Identify opportunities for accessing funding streams, working with Fundraising colleagues to diversify our income base.

· Raise our profile within the healthcare environment so that they recommend the charity and will advocate on our behalf.

· As we are a small, busy charity, all staff help with the general running of the organisation in addition to their specific role activities.

What you will bring

· Proven experience in healthcare partnership development and stakeholder engagement.

·Strong understanding of the challenges facing people living with a lifelong condition such as MS, including the emotional, physical, and social impacts along with a strong understanding of the NHS, Public Health and the UK health care policy landscape.

About the role and you

We are recruiting for a Policy Officer within the Advocacy and Communications Team. You will report to the Director of Advocacy and Communications and work closely with all others in the team.

The purpose of this role is to strengthen LFF’s policy and advocacy efforts. You will be crucial in helping to develop strategic engagement, influence change and strengthen LFF’s impact on public policy, and in doing so, make a significant contribution to the prevention of child sexual abuse.

Job Purpose:

This role sits within Family for Every Child’s (Family) Sustainability team, providing comprehensive support for all aspects of financial management.  The Finance Officer will work closely with the Secretariat, providing a central support function for the Sustainability, Impact, and Innovation teams.  This role will support the International Finance Manager (IFM) in building an internal finance function and will work with Family’s outsourced financial service provider in the UK to transition support in-house, ensuring efficient income and expenditure processing, reconciliation and reporting.

This role includes study support to become a qualified accountant (ACCA) with the potential for role development linked to successful exam progression. Family offers a study leave policy of 10 days over a rolling 12 month period (pro rata for part time staff).

Scope and Limits of Authority:

The post holder is expected to organise their own day-to-day activities according to the overall priorities and timescales set, and to exercise sound judgement in many critical decision-making areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance administration

• Principal point of contact for staff and suppliers (purchasing, expenses and payments).

• Managing and organising the finance inbox, ensuring queries are answered in a timely manner and ensuring good supplier relations are maintained.

• Processing all invoices and expenses onto the accounting system, ensuring correct coding and allocation of costs.

• Preparation of domestic and international payment runs, ensuring international payments are compliant with local requirements and following up on any issues.

• Working closely with the Programme Officer to track the status of grants and ensure outgoing payments are received.

• Managing the prepaid cash cards and monthly sign off of spend, supporting staff with purchases and expenses, checking and updating expense claims prior to processing of payment.

• Bank reconciliations, monitoring bank activity, ensuring invoices/expenses paid by direct debit are processed and approved as required, maintaining supplier details up to date.

• Preparation of monthly journal entries for review and approval by the IFM.

• Acting as the main point of contact for staff to provide guidance on all operational financial policies and procedures.

• Leading on continuous improvement to operational finance processes, including the use of AI technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Payroll

• Preparation of monthly UK payroll.  Working closely with the HR Officer to ensure all adjustments are processed.

• Preparation of monthly UK pension submissions within the required deadline.

• Processing all pension changes, including auto-enrolment and adjustments to contributions.

• Checking calculations for EOR and international payrolls.

• Preparation of monthly payroll allocation journals for review and approval by the IFM.

Financial budgeting and reporting

• Supporting and coordinating the budgeting process with the International Finance Manager and budget holders, updating the budget templates and checking the draft budget for accuracy and completeness.

The Role

Job Summary
 
When someone goes missing, Missing People provides help to families, friends and professional carers who wish to publicise their appeal. This can be through the charity’s website resources, appeals and opportunities for publicity in the media.
 
You will support families, friends and professional carers to make appeals when someone has officially been reported as missing. The role will involve communicating in a timely, compassionate and knowledgeable manner with people experiencing the trauma of missing someone and managing families’ initial expectations of the service. You will assess the most appropriate activities to safeguard and reconnect the missing person and be responsible for police liaison and updates. You will assess with families the use of public display publicity which may begin after 3 days and help families to understand what they can do themselves. You will work closely with the Communications team, providing them with accurate and timely information if publicity is the appropriate choice. You will also access and process 'Urgent missing’ requests and work with the Communications team to make the alert happen.
 
You will understand the needs of longer-term families who still want to publicise their missing person, and you will advocate on their behalf to help make sure their voice is heard.
You will work collaboratively with specialists in Family Support, Publicity, Helpline and Fundraising & Communications teams to support the families and missing people we are here to help.
 
Key Accountabilities:
 
Service delivery
• Assess and process incoming requests from, family members, friends and professional carers and agree the most suitable support and publicity actions. Manage requests with high standards of accuracy, risk and criteria management, data management, and confidentiality;
