Job description

Harris Hill is delighted to be supporting a leading UK charity with the recruitment of a Facilities Manager to take responsibility for the facilities management and day-to-day operation of its purpose-built national training and conference centre.

This is a varied role combining facilities management, health and safety, team leadership, contractor management and customer service, within an organisation with a strong social purpose.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, managing and developing the on-site facilities team.
  • Ensuring statutory, health and safety and facilities compliance is maintained.
  • Managing contractors, suppliers and facilities contracts, ensuring value for money and agreed service standards.
  • Overseeing preventative maintenance, building services and facilities improvements.
  • Managing the facilities budget and procurement of goods and services.
  • Supporting refurbishment, maintenance and capital works projects.
  • Working closely with event and booking teams to ensure facilities are prepared to a high standard.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for facilities and health and safety queries.
  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external users of the centre.
  • Supporting the centre to operate efficiently, sustainably and in line with organisational policies.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience managing facilities/buildings and a team.
  • Operational management experience within a conference, hotel, leisure, hospitality or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety, including risk assessments and audits.
  • Experience managing contractors, suppliers and facilities contracts.
  • Experience managing budgets and procurement.
  • A good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and building fabric.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative approach to leading and developing staff.

A NEBOSH General Certificate would be advantageous, or you will be willing to undertake the qualification.

If you are an experienced Facilities Manager looking for a varied role where your work will directly support an organisation with a strong charitable purpose, we would love to hear from you.

For more information, please submit your CV.

Please note, CVs are being reviewed on a rolling basis, and only successful applicants will be contacted with more information.
