As our new SEO Manager, you’ll lead a strategic shift in how we grow the visibility and reach of our digital content across search engines and AI-powered platforms. This is a key role in helping us connect with more people, drive engagement, and support our mission to save and improve lives.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading the development and delivery of BHF’s SEO strategy to boost organic visibility, drive engagement, and support fundraising and awareness goals.
• Monitoring performance using SEO and analytics tools, producing clear and accessible reports, and adapting strategies in response to evolving search trends including the impact of generative AI.
• Collaborating with content designers, technical teams, and marketing colleagues to create high-quality, user-focused content that meets search intent and reflects BHF’s mission.
• Optimising website structure, on-page elements, and technical aspects such as page speed, mobile usability, and crawlability to improve ranking and indexing.
• Delivering SEO training and best practice guidance to internal teams, while supporting local search visibility and contributing to UX reviews and link-building efforts.

About you

You’ll bring a strong track record of improving organic performance for large websites, with experience of developing and implementing SEO strategies that respond to the evolving search landscape including mitigating traffic loss from AI-generated content.

You’re confident using a range of SEO tools (such as GA4, Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog) to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and use insights to inform decision-making. You also have experience working with cross-functional teams to align SEO with broader digital and organisational goals.

You have a solid grasp of digital PR, link-building, and local SEO strategies, and understand how these areas are shifting in response to generative AI and changing search behaviours.

In addition, you’ll bring:

• A deep understanding of SEO principles, including technical SEO and on-page optimisation, with experience implementing changes through a CMS.
• Experience conducting thorough keyword research, competitor analysis, and reporting on performance including setting and tracking KPIs.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present insights and strategies clearly to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
• Knowledge of how content, UX, and technical elements such as site architecture, page speed, and mobile optimisation impact SEO, and the ability to use this insight to make informed decisions and recommendations.
• Experience training and supporting others to deliver high-quality, search-optimised content, along with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across teams and disciplines.

Working arrangements 

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and 1- 2 days per week, on average, in either our  London office (NW1 7AW). This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Internal Communications Professional to support a major organisational change programme at a higher education institution. This role is central to ensuring their colleagues are informed, engaged, and confident throughout a period of transformation.

Role Title: External Communications and Advocacy Lead

This is a rare opportunity to shape the new communications function in a thriving cancer charity, establishing Shine as the go-to charity supporting all young adults living with any type of cancer in the UK.

As part of our growth plan, we are delighted to be hiring our first Communications and Advocacy Lead. ●    Working closely with the Shine team to raise Shine’s profile through advocacy activities in the cancer community and healthcare professionals.

Person Specification

Essential skills:

● Ability to develop multi-channel communications plans, using social, digital and traditional media platforms

● Knowledge of UK health media including health correspondents and reporters for national news outlets (print & TV and radio)

● A good eye for design, with the ability to manage, develop and implement brand guidelines

● Experience of working with media databases and press release distribution services

● Excellent writing skills and experience of writing materials for media

● Ability to create media angles and stories from data and third-party content

● Identify platforms for Shine thought-leadership, particularly for the co-CEOs

● Strong skills in using online technology platforms including Google workspace, Canva, YouTube and MS Office.

We’re set to launch a new organisational strategy in the autumn, and as part of this, we have ambitious plans to grow both our brand awareness and our income; to support the impact we can have for people affected by breast cancer.  We’re recruiting for a senior marketing and communications planning and measurement manager to join the charity’s newly created brand, marketing and communications team and play a critical role in achieving these strategic ambitions. The role provides a great opportunity to work with communications channel specialists and marketing stakeholders across the charity, to coordinate and align outputs to our integrated plan.  You’ll also act as the key contact to our media agencies, ensuring briefing, optimisation, measurement and evaluation processes are robust.

Finance Manager Job Description

Brent Mencap has been passionate about a healthier and fairer Brent since 1979. We’ve developed and run successful housing, employment, health, advice, wellbeing and self-advocacy services. During austerity and Covid we diversified, successfully taking on NHS work with people with long-term health conditions. We provide social prescribing support and health and wellbeing coaching to patients for Brent GPs. In 2024-25 we helped over 18000 people. We’re a leading partner on the Brent Health Educators Programme.

Our income has substantially  increased from £382k in 19/20 to £1.71 million in 23-24. We’ve had to adapt quickly, developing and retaining a much larger staff group, using our data better and improving our marketing.

Brent Mencap offers fantastic free creative and wellbeing activities for people with a learning disability, autism and long-term health conditions. These have flourished since Covid. People love yoga, poetry, singing, gardening, Breathe and Move, self-advocacy, campaigning, awareness raising, CREATE art activities for young people, external trips and parties. Small grants, donations and our reserves fund this while we get longer term funding. Our self-advocates want us to focus on paid employment, youth services and making Brent Council use accessible information properly.

Our current finance manager has been pivotal to Brent Mencap’s recent growth, adapting to paying more people, dealing with complicated invoices, making sure we get paid promptly, being as diligent about a project budget worth 5k as our overall budget and supportive with staff  wage queries. While there is lots of data input, reconciling, processing purchase orders, the role involves real involvement in project development, monitoring with other managers and face-to-face involvement with users and staff. It’s never boring and definitely not for the faint hearted!!

As Finance Manager for Brent Mencap, you will have a key leadership position. You will be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of our finances, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements while ensuring our services are sustainable through sound financial planning. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Trustee Board to provide accurate insights and projections that support long-term growth and resilience.

You will play a pivotal role in reviewing and maintaining our robust finance and administrative system and procedures, managing risks and ensuring our charity finances can support delivery of our mission. You will also contribute to the development of funding applications, tenders, and financial strategies. About the role:

Based in Haringey, London, is a supported living accommodation for up to 5 service users with staff on duty 24 hours a day. Staff are involved in supporting the service users in all aspects of their daily life, providing them with physical and emotional support in all areas of day-to-day life, both inside and outside the home e.g. personal care, meal times, recreation and leisure, attending medical appointments etc.

Responsibilities as our Deputy Manager will include:

• Deputising for the Manager in managing the staff, coordinating the delivery of all services to the Service Users and ensuring the requirements of the appropriate regulatory body are always adhered to
• Managing the care support provided to the Service Users in the absence of the Manager in a non-judgemental way based upon trust, honesty, transparency and professional standards

Overview

The Olive Tree Cancer Support Group (the Olive Tree), is a registered Charity, dedicated to the relief of the physical and/or emotional distress of persons with cancer and their partners, families, friends and carers, through the provision of services, operating from its support centres in Crawley and Horsham.

A Centre Manager is being sought to manage all aspects of the Horsham centre, working closely with the Crawley Centre Manager and reporting to the Board of Trustees, delivering the charity’s goals and long-term strategy. The responsibilities include staff and volunteer management and recruitment, onboarding new patients / service users, engaging with external stakeholders and all other operational and day to day financial matters, including supervision of team members responsible for fundraising activities, social media and communications. 

Salary: £31,000 to £35,000, depending on experience

Full time, Monday – Friday, flexible as required.

Location: Lavinia House, Horsham with some local travel.
