Role Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and motivated individual to join us in this newly created HR and Governance role at Dialogue Earth. We are seeking an organised and proactive person to provide day-to-day support across both functions, with around 70% of the role focused on HR. The HR and governance officer will lead and manage the organisation’s human resources, governance, and compliance functions. They will ensure that HR function and practices are fair, legally compliant, and aligned with organisational values, and will support the Board of Trustees in fulfilling their governance responsibilities. This role combines operational HR management with oversight of governance processes, supporting a positive, inclusive, and legally compliant working environment.

Main Responsibilities

Human Resources:

● Coordinate recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions and contracts, applicant screening, supporting interviews and collecting references;
● Manage staff onboarding processes and induction material;
● Maintain and update HR policies, the staff handbook, and training records in consultation with the COO;
● Manage the HR system (Natural HR or equivalent) and ensure records are accurate and up to date;

Together for Short Lives is a charity that ensures seriously ill children and their families receive the care they need, especially at the end of life. We work closely with families, care professionals, and services to improve children’s palliative care. We also speak up to government leaders and decision-makers to help make sure families have access to the best support when they need it.

Role Overview

The role of the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer is to maintain and build on the strong culture of safeguarding at Southwark Cathedral and carry out an effective safeguarding role as a key visible member of the Cathedral team. The role holder will promote awareness and understanding throughout the Cathedral community (staff, volunteers and worshippers) of the needs of children and vulnerable adults and actively promote the philosophy that their interests are paramount.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the development and implementation of Cathedral safeguarding arrangements, good practice, policy and training. The Cathedral Safeguarding Officer will make sure that safeguarding risks are appropriately managed and ensure that the Cathedral is applying any emerging national policies, procedures and best practice so that our ways of working continue to remain current.

NB: The successful applicant will play a leading role in the preparation for the upcoming INEQE safeguarding audit of Southwark Cathedral and Southwark Diocese scheduled June 2026. They will be supported in this aim by the appointed INEQE action group.

The role carries responsibility for safeguarding casework, including ensuring that allegations of abuse are promptly and appropriately handled, and where appropriate referred to the statutory authorities. Further, the role holder will effectively communicate and engage with survivors and victims of abuse.

The Cathedral Safeguarding Officer will advise the Cathedral on all safeguarding matters ensuring that all advice is in line with the law, government guidance and national policy and guidance from the House of Bishops. They will be supported in their role by three experienced volunteer cathedral safeguarding representatives who offer knowledge and experience of the cathedral. They will work collaboratively with peers in the Diocese and the National Safeguarding Team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. To lead the Cathedral’s work on the following National Standards:

· Organisational culture, leadership and capacity - Church bodies have safe and healthy cultures, effective leadership, resourcing and scrutiny arrangements necessary to deliver high-quality safeguarding practices and outcomes.

· Prevention - Church bodies have in place a planned range of measures which together are effective in preventing abuse in their context.

· Responding to and managing risk - Risk assessments, safety plans and associated processes are of a high quality and result in positive outcomes. The assessment and management of risk is underpinned by effective partnership working.

· Victims and survivors - Victims and survivors experience the timeliness and quality of Church bodies' responses to disclosures, and their subsequent support, as positively meeting their needs, including their search for justice and helping their healing process.

· Learning, supervision and support – All those engaged in safeguarding-related activity in Church bodies receive the type and level of learning, professional development, support and supervision necessary to respond to safeguarding situations, victims and survivors, and respondents, effectively.

2. To provide in person safeguarding training for Cathedral volunteers & staff.

3. To work closely with the Director of Music and the Sub-Dean to ensure that the children and young people in the cathedral choirs and Sunday school are effectively safeguarded

4. To be responsible for recording, investigating and managing all Safeguarding concerns;

5. To assist the CSL with production of monthly and annual safeguarding reports and to attend Chapter (as required) and Committee Meetings (as directed).

6. To assist in the production of risk assessments, policies and procedures where there are safeguarding aspects to them.

7. To provide advice in relation to obtaining criminal record checks (DBSs) for staff and volunteers.

8. To work collaboratively with the National Safeguarding Team (NST) and other Church of England Safeguarding Officers and attend national safeguarding events and activities as required.

9. To engage in professional supervision and quality assurance provided by the relevant NST Regional Safeguarding Lead.

About the role 

Ready to make a real difference through digital? Be our new Senior Digital Marketing Officer.

We’re looking for a proactive and skilled digital marketer to help us grow our reach and connect with our audiences. You’ll bring hands-on experience in planning and delivering multi-stage paid digital campaigns, along with a curious mindset that drives continuous learning and improvement.

Confident using data to shape decisions and optimise performance, you’ll work within our in-house digital marketing team to deliver brilliant, insight-led ads for teams across the charity.

What you’ll do:

• Plan, deliver and manage activity across platforms including (but not limited to) social, PPC, paid search and display. 

• Work across teams to create and deliver bespoke, insight-led integrated campaigns, building digital confidence through collaboration.

• Own planning, budget management and digital decisions for your campaigns, ensuring joined-up, insight-led journeys.

• Champion digital best practice and share learnings to support wider strategy and improve team processes.

• Create engaging, on-brand content in partnership with Content and Creative.

• Manage external agency delivery to ensure work is well-briefed, insight-led and high performing.

• Report on campaign performance, using test-and-learn approaches to optimise live activity and inform future planning.

• Actively seek out new technologies, tools and tests to improve the charity’s digital marketing.

What you’ll bring:

• Strong skills in end-to-end digital marketing across Google (Search, Display) and social media. Confident in PPC optimisation and performance tactics. 

• Confident digital project manager with the ability to work across channels and with diverse stakeholder teams.

• Proven experience growing and engaging audiences through a range of digital channels and tactics. 

• Confident understanding of performance reporting and analysis, with proficiency in tools such as GA4, Semrush and Google Tag Manager

Are you an experienced Finance Business Partner looking for a role where you can make a real difference in the charity sector? 

We have a fantastic and rewarding opportunity for a Finance professional to join Mencap as Finance Business Partner (FBP). This role is a fixed-term contract for 12 months to cover a maternity leave. The role will be supporting the operational division that provides care and support to adults with a learning disability across England, Cymru and Northern Ireland. 

We are looking for someone who is a confident communicator with both finance colleagues and operational staff, adapting their style to their audience. Someone who is well organised, can prioritise their workload and have the ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working to tight deadlines will thrive in this role. 

The successful candidate will use their commercial awareness and work with management teams to help deliver strong financial performance across the region they support, providing timely and accurate financial information to a variety of stakeholders. 

We will consider both full-time and part-time applications and there is flexibility around where the role is based. We have large offices in London, and Peterborough and smaller offices located throughout the UK. If there is no office available within a reasonable distance, the role may be offered as home-based with some travel for team meetings.

What will it take? 

To be successful as a Finance Business Partner you will be expected to have: 

• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to convey financial information to non-finance colleagues and senior management. 
• A desire to drive improvements in financial understanding & accountability to deliver a first class commercial and customer focused service. 
• Strong collaboration skills including the confidence to challenge others. 
• Ability to interpret a range of financial/operational information and reach quick judgements. 
• Experience in financial analysis and reporting. 
• Appropriate planning, organising and strategic business planning skills. 
• An ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification or hold a similar and relevant qualification.

Temporary Executive Assistant

We’re working with a leading charity to recruit a highly skilled and proactive Executive Assistant for an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the Chief Executive in a pivotal role while leading and coordinating the work of a small PA team.

About the role

You’ll act as the right hand to the CEO, providing executive-level support, managing complex diaries and communications, and ensuring the smooth running of high-level meetings and events. You’ll also line manage Executive PAs, helping to deliver a first-class support service to the wider leadership team.

This is a dynamic and varied role, ranging from preparing trustee reports and external briefings, to attending key meetings with the CEO, and coordinating high-profile communications. You’ll need to be highly organised, discreet, and comfortable handling sensitive information with confidence.

About you

We’re looking for someone with:

• Significant experience as an Executive Assistant, ideally at CEO or Board level

• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities
