• Reporting to the Health Promotion Manager, this role will involve working closely with health care providers and community stakeholders to develop and design an evidence-based, behaviour change intervention, aimed at reducing smoking prevalence across targeted populations.
• This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist with expertise in tobacco dependence, behaviour change, and public health programme design to lead the development of a smoking cessation pilot. 

Main Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Develop a high-quality smoking cessation pilot programme
• Conduct needs assessments and analyse local smoking prevalence data to inform programme design. 
• Lead on the design, development, and delivery of a high-quality stop-smoking pilot programme, tailored to meet local population needs. 
• Develop training materials and resources for facilitators delivering the programme. 

Specialist Support and Advice

• Evaluate the effectiveness of the pilot programme through data collection methods such as questionnaires and focus groups with participants. 
• Identify and report areas of success and opportunities for improvement, providing recommendations for future programme development. 

Skills and Experience:  

• Educated to degree level in health, social care, public health, or significant professional experience in smoking cessation. 
• Proven experience working within local authorities, the NHS, or similar public health settings. 
• Completion of the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) certification. 
• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of stop-smoking medications and their appropriate use. 
• In-depth understanding of behaviour change theories & techniques, along with their application in smoking cessation programmes. 
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing pilot programmes or other community-based health interventions.

Primary location of role

This exciting role will lead on all aspects of the finance function, including managing a team of two, overseeing the production of year-end accounts in collaboration with internal stakeholders and auditors, and preparing monthly management accounts for reports to the Senior managers and trustees. About the role

As a Housing First Coach you will deliver high quality person-centred support, using psychologically and trauma informed approaches, in line with Housing First principles. About you

· To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter, flexible and have experience of working collaboratively as part of a team and with internal and external partners. 

· You may have a background in housing/homelessness support, adult safeguarding, drug or alcohol recovery services or mental health and have significant experience of working within a multidisciplinary setting with the ability to create strong professional relationships and creative solutions. 

· You will have experience of working with people who have faced severe and multiple exclusion and who may be considered to have ‘complex needs’, with an understanding of the needs of people who have been homeless for long periods of time.

· You will be willing and able to provide practical assistance with moving into and maintaining a home – including direct help where necessary with tasks such as shopping, budgeting, cooking, and cleaning.

We are currently looking for a Safety and Assurance Officer to join our team.

About the role

The Safety & Assurance Officer (SAO) is an employee of the MSSC and a member of the MSSC National Safety Assurance Team (NSAT). This is a home-based role, with a primary focus on the Southern area, predominantly the South-East. The SAO will report to the Head of Safety, Health, and Environment.

The SAO will work closely with other SAOs and will be functionally accountable to:

The Head of Inshore Boating for inshore boat assurance
The Staff Royal Marines Officer for weapons and ammunition safety and security assurance

The role requires regular travel within the area of responsibility and, on occasion within the UK. It will involve evening and some weekend work to fulfil the role’s responsibilities.

Requirements

Qualifications: Good general education and NEBOSH (or equivalent), with completion required during probation if not already held.
Safety & Environmental Management: Experience implementing safety and environmental management systems, conducting risk assessments, and working within formal assurance frameworks.
Incident Management: Experience managing, investigating, and reporting incidents.
Training & Support: Ability to deliver training, guidance, and support to non-specialist staff or volunteers on safety, health, environmental, and assurance matters.
Workload & Volunteer Management: Proven ability to manage a busy workload and effectively support and manage volunteers.

Responsibilities

Join the Marine Society & Sea Cadets as a Safety and Assurance Officer, ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, environment (SHE), and operational compliance across our units and facilities.
You’ll lead assurance inspections, maintain compliance with legislation and organisational regulations, and support the safe management of weapons, armouries, and inshore boating activities. Working closely with other members of the National Safety and Assurance Team (NSAT) and Area teams, you’ll oversee safety at events, camps, and competitions, conduct audits, and monitor incident reporting.
This role plays a vital part in upholding the safety and welfare of our cadets and volunteers through proactive assurance, training, and continuous improvement.

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will be a member of the External Affairs Team. This role is designed to support the development and implementation BABCP’s influencing plan with a view to raising the profile and influence of BABCP amongst policy stakeholders and decision-makers to create positive change in policy. 

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

As the Policy and Public Affairs Officer:

• Keep up-to-date with current trends and activities by monitoring parliamentary and local government activity relevant to BABCP in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland; notifying and briefing colleagues of relevant political developments and opportunities to influence
• Support reactive policy work such as drafting consultation responses, parliamentary debate briefings and summaries, and letters to policy makers; working with the Senior Clinical Advisor and the Head of External Affairs.
• Liaise with the member engagement manager and the membership team on policy work ensuring member feedback is embedded into policy work.
• Support the delivery of parliamentary events to publicise BABCP’s work including identifying and engaging key stakeholders, managing attendance, preparing and distributing event information, and post-event follow-up.
• Support the Head of External Affairs and the Senior Clinical Advisor in the implementation of a public affairs influencing plan.
• Raise awareness and the profile of BABCP by identifying, and developing relationships with key stakeholders.
• Deputise for the Head of External Affairs if required, representing BABCP at external meetings.

Person Specification:

• Proven experience in public affairs and policy, preferably within the healthcare, public, or membership sectors.
• Experience of liaising with a range of stakeholders and implementing stakeholder mapping.
• High level of ICT literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and document management systems).
• Strong understanding of UK and/or Irish health policy and parliamentary and legislative processes.
• Excellent communication skills, and an ability to handle complex situations with tact and diplomacy.
• Outstanding spoken and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information into simple accessible briefings at pace.
• Effective relationship builder with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Able to work effectively in fast-paced environments, and prioritising workload.

Title: Data and Reporting Officer – Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) 

Salary: £29,400 to £34,600pa

About the role 

Sightsavers work in Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) contributes to a range of public health problems to reduce disparities, lower disease burdens, and build locally owned sustainable health programs. The NTD Data and Reporting Officer sits within the NTD Surveillance unit and provides a single point of contact for programme and country teams on data monitoring and reporting. 

The position will be based in the UK, with occasional travel to Sightsavers headquarters in Haywards Heath, and international travel up to four weeks per year. 

As the NTD Data and Reporting Officer you will help standardise, consolidate and continuously improve directorate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools and processes, maintain data architecture for NTDs, ensuring core organisational data assets are of high quality, cohesive and accessible, and manage secure storage for NTD data reporting. 

Further responsibilities include: 

• Maintain a cross-departmental M&E calendar. 

• Develop and disseminate and track quarterly planning and reporting templates for country office/partners. 

• Quality check data submissions prior to consolidation against organisational data policy. 

• Ensure programme plans (targets) and associated performance data (actuals) are timely and accurately entered in core organisational data systems. 

• Process and analyse large, complex datasets on request for directorate senior management, donors and partners. 

• Conduct detailed reviews of donor reports, narratives and press releases to ensure any referenced data is accurate and appropriately referenced.

• Provide day to day capacity building and support for directorate and country office staff on data monitoring and reporting. 

• Provide ongoing support to licensed NTD data systems, including acting as a first point of contact for the directorate NTD data helpdesk. 

• Participate in NTD programme and team meetings.

Skills and Experience 

As the successful candidate you will possess practical experience or an undergraduate degree in international development, public health, international relations, geography, statistics, or an appropriate equivalent. You will also have excellent English language skills, have an understanding of international development issues and a commitment to equality of opportunity for people with disabilities, and have experience within data reporting and monitoring. 

Further requirements include: 

Essential 

• Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills, with the ability to work with large, complex datasets. 

• Understanding of data privacy and best practices in data security. 

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to identify critical issues and communicate these effectively to colleagues. 

• Able to facilitate group-training sessions, with a focus on programme systems and data, building capacity in developing country contexts in areas relevant to position. 

• Advanced Excel skills, and proficiency with Microsoft suite. 

• Knowledge and understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation reporting. 

• Experience processing and analysing large and complex data sets. 

Desirable 

• Working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese. 

• Experience of working in different countries, preferable within NTDs or the public health sector. 

• Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data visualisation platforms, such as PowerBI and Tableau.
