The SHEQ Officer is responsible for overseeing, implementing and managing health, safety, environment and quality management systems to ensure a safe, compliant, sustainable and efficient working environment. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities across our global workplace portfolio:

• Development and management of our global Health and Safety management system.
• Development and management of workplace environmental, sustainable and wellbeing practices.
• Development and management of a workplace quality and supplier governance system to ensure efficient, effective, and safe workplace operations as delivered by external vendors or otherwise.

Key responsibilities

As the SHEQ Officer, your key responsibilities are as follows:

Health & Safety:

• Develop, implement, and maintain a health and safety system that complies with legal requirements and best practices.
• Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of local risk registers
• Deliver health and safety training to employees, promoting a culture of safety and awareness.

Environment, Sustainability and Wellbeing: 

• Develop, implement, and maintain an environmental management system that aligns with legal regulations and sustainability best practices. 
• Conduct regular environmental audits, inspections, and impact assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Implementing, maintaining and continually improving office initiatives across the organization  
• Provide training and guidance to employees on environmental policies and sustainability to promote responsible practices.

Quality Management & Supplier Governance:

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality practices that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. 
• Conduct regular quality audits, inspections, and process evaluations to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with quality standards. 
• Establish and oversee supplier governance programs to ensure vendors meet quality, compliance, and performance expectations. 
• Perform supplier audits and assessments, working closely with vendors to drive improvements and maintain product and service quality. 
• Provide training and support to employees on quality procedures and best practices to enhance consistency and efficiency.

Emergency Preparedness & Disaster recovery & Business Continuity:

Partner with our Global Security team, local Global Operations staff and other key Operations units to:

• Develop and maintain local office emergency response, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to minimize disruptions.
• Conduct risk assessments and regular training to ensure employees are prepared for office related emergencies.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of health and safety risk registers, incidents, maintenance activities, compliance reports and file with relevant authorities.
• Analyze data to identify trends, assess risks, and provide insights for continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

• Identify opportunities for improving safety practices, energy efficiency, and sustainability in Workplace Services.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes, implementing best practices as applicable.

The ideal candidate

• Relevant Health and Safety qualification
• Relevant qualifications in Environmental, Quality and Wellbeing practices, including audits.
• Educated to a degree level (or equivalent substantial industry experience).

Health & Safety Experience:

• Proven experience in health and safety management, including developing and implementing safety policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with safety legislation, regulations, and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
• Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.

Environmental Management Experience:

• Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental policies and management systems. 
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 14001, EPA regulations).

Quality Management & Supplier Governance Experience:

Data Analysis and Reporting:

JOB PURPOSE

You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO, trustees and international colleagues to steward and cultivate key donor relationships and continue the development and implementation of the strategy to grow the major donor pipeline. As a Senior Manager, you will take ownership of the overall Major Donor Strategy, and budget and provide strategic insight into how we grow and improve our programme.

You will be confident in navigating complex environments with multiple stakeholders and in negotiating internally as well as externally, championing the major donor programme to ensure a strong enabling environment for the growth of the programme. You will enjoy developing strong relationships, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and will be adept at managing donor and prospect pipelines as well as crafting compelling donor communications.

This role will be responsible for managing the Philanthropy Manager role and will provide support, mentorship and coaching to help the development of this role.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES

• Manage the philanthropy manager role through coaching, and by motivating and supporting them to reach their annual target.
• Build on a warm portfolio of donors to achieve current income targets and spot opportunities for growth and deeper development of philanthropic relationships
• Monitor and deliver annual philanthropy budgets and KPIs, assessing ongoing performance, proactively managing risks and providing accurate reporting.
• Own and drive the Major Donor strategy in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy.
• Support on intermediary strategy and growth in this area.
• Work as part of the Philanthropy Team to grow opportunities within the major donor funding stream in line with UK4U’s fundraising strategy
• Lead on the growth and development of a robust prospect pipeline working with the corporate team, individual giving team, trustees, prospect research team, philanthropy team and other key stakeholders.
• Work with the wider international organisation to identify the most appropriate funding propositions for donors and also the internal technical experts and leadership colleagues who can help support and drive forward opportunities.
• Craft compelling propositions and proposals for major donors and ensure quality and timely reporting on donations made.
• Establish a strategic and tactical response to selected prospects and existing major donors in the event of humanitarian emergencies.
• Work independently and with the prospect researcher to gather up-to-date and accurate information on existing and prospective donors.
• Maintain accurate records on Salesforce, for income recording and earmarking.
• Work with the wider team to deliver bespoke activities including virtual and in-person events
• Support wider PPH strategic initiatives: helping identify and implement enablers to help the organisation secure and grow more multi-year partnerships, including at transformational levels.
• Help to position and raise awareness of UK4U’s role among peers, donors and other audiences by participating in sector networks and representing UK4U at events, as appropriate.
• Work within UK4U’s due diligence policy and GDPR policies and processes.

You will be instrumental in delivering bespoke, high-value experiences such as private dinners, small group tours, donor visits and our flagship annual event, The Marsden Lecture. Principal responsibilities

Event planning and coordination

· Plan and manage events to acknowledge and appreciate donors, facilitating their continued support and engagement with the charity.

Supporting the new cancer campaign

· Prepare for campaign events in support of a £50m campaign for a ground-breaking cancer centre on the Royal Free Hospital site.

Vendor management

· Whether on-site at one of our hospitals or at an external venue, take responsibility for sourcing, negotiating and managing relationships with vendors, including caterers, suppliers and on-site partners.

Budget management

· Create and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.  

Communications and promotion

· Collaborate with the communications team to develop promotional materials and strategies to maximise event attendance and engagement.  

RSVP management

· Managing the RSVP mailbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to event invitations and queries.

Database management

· Maintain and update event-related databases, ensuring accurate records of participants, donors and sponsors.  

Relationship management

· Act as the main point of contact for colleagues, donors and contractors, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the event planning and delivery process.

Portfolio manager support

· Assist portfolio managers in engaging with prospects and donors effectively, providing event-related insights and facilitating meaningful connections.  

On-site coordination

· Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring all elements are in place and events run smoothly.  

Post-event evaluation

· Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.

Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises two teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:

·Our philanthropy & campaigns team builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate organisations and intermediaries, giving or facilitating donations of £10,000 or more to the charity each year. They lead major appeal activity for the charity, currently focused on our forthcoming cancer campaign, the charity’s first patron programme, and special events to support these activities.

·Our public fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges.

·Our database and supporter care colleagues underpin and support the entire department.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Legacy Marketing Manager to play a key role in shaping the future of our legacy marketing programme.

Legacy gifts are our single largest source of voluntary income, with significant potential for growth. To recognise this, we have secured additional investment to help us engage, inspire and acquire new legacy supporters through multi-channel marketing activities.

Working closely with the Heads of Fundraising Campaigns and Individual Giving, you will develop strategies to raise awareness of gifts in Wills, reach new audiences and develop new supporter journeys to engage new and existing legacy pledgers and prospects with our research.

As a creative, innovative and data-led marketeer, you will develop and deliver our legacy fundraising programme with the support of your direct reports – the Legacy Marketing and Legacy Stewardship Officers – and the Digital Marketing and Fundraising Communications teams. 

You will also build important relationships with colleagues across the Development Office, including working with Philanthropy to promote legacy giving to their audiences.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will plan, manage and execute multi-channel campaigns across the marketing mix and work with your team to deliver exceptional campaigns and stewardship, to recruit, retain and engage our committed supporters.

• Work with your Manager to devise and implement marketing and stewardship strategies to maximise legacy giving and engage with existing legacy pledgers.

The Henry Jackson Society (HJS) is the UK’s boldest think tank and policy-shaping force, constantly ahead of the curve on the big issues of international and domestic importance. We are currently looking for a Director of Research to help lead us permanently on the next stage of our organisational journey, which has already taken us to the status of a household name in the international political and media constellation. 

When HJS was founded back in 2005, the global environment was very different to what it has become today. Over that time, the threats to the free world internationally and to free societies domestically have multiplied, but there has been one constant: HJS’s willingness and ability to fight for the principles and alliances which keep societies free – working across borders and party lines to combat extremism, advance democracy and fundamental human rights, and make a stand in an increasingly uncertain world. 

Reflecting this, our work is focused into two main streams: “Securing our Societies” and “Advancing the Free World”. “Securing our Societies” focuses on threats to free societies within the West, while “Advancing the Free World” examines how the enemies of the free world are operating internationally. Dons Local Action Group (DLAG) is a fast-growing, award-winning charity tackling poverty across Merton, Wandsworth and Kingston. Founded during the pandemic by AFC Wimbledon fans, DLAG has grown into a vital, volunteer-powered organisation delivering food, furniture and digital devices to people in urgent need.

We are now looking for a committed, hands-on Charity Director, someone who can work closely with trustees, staff, volunteers and partners to ensure operational excellence, increase our visibility, and drive sustainable growth to oversee day-to-day operations and coordinate activity across fundraising, communications, governance and people management.

This newly created role is central to strengthening the charity’s infrastructure and ensuring its long-term sustainability.

You’ll be a senior charity professional with strong fundraising and communications experience, confident in developing teams, building partnerships and securing income – and deeply motivated by our mission to tackle local poverty.

Who we are

Dons Local Action Group (DLAG) is a grassroots charity dedicated to tackling poverty and social exclusion in the London boroughs of Merton, Wandsworth and Kingston.

Founded in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, DLAG quickly grew from a volunteer-led food support initiative into a highly respected, award-winning organisation. We provide essential support to people in urgent need—delivering food parcels, furniture and digital devices directly to homes, schools and partner charities.

With over 800 active volunteers and a unique model centred on dignity, speed and community engagement, DLAG has made a measurable impact on thousands of lives.

We maintain strong local roots while continuously expanding our reach and ambition. In 2023 alone, we supported more than 14,000 people and redistributed food and goods worth nearly £1 million.

DLAG became a registered charity in 2023 and is now entering an exciting new phase of growth, with a focus on sustainability, innovation and deepening community impact.

About the role

As Charity Director at Dons Local Action Group (DLAG), you will lead a respected and fast-growing organisation at the heart of the community.

This pivotal new role will ensure DLAG delivers on its mission to support people in urgent need while building a sustainable and resilient future. You will work closely with the Board of Trustees, a small staff team and a large, dedicated volunteer base to oversee all core functions of the charity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the delivery of DLAG’s strategy across operations, volunteering, fundraising and communications.
• Managing and developing a small team, alongside collaboration with experienced trustees.
• Driving income generation and developing sustainable funding streams.
• Building DLAG’s profile through strategic communications and stakeholder engagement.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practice in governance.

We are now seeking a strong project manager with great people skills and an eye for detail to join as our Head of Operations. Join The Fore, the UK’s only venture philanthropy fund dedicated to backing the best small charities, and play a key role in achieving our goal of getting the most innovative solutions from grassroots to nationwide impact.

Reporting into the Director of Operations, you will lead the delivery of The Fore’s grant rounds, which are the core engine of our impact. You’ll  oversee our Programme Team and pool of Strategic Applicant Consultants (SACs) and will make sure the strongest proposals reach our  funding panels. The role is a key part in achieving our goal of getting the most innovative solutions from grassroots to nationwide impact.

You’ll drive our workshops and peer learning programme, enabling small charities to develop the skills and networks to take their solutions to  the next level. You will also take forward newer strategic initiatives, including our scale-up funding rounds and the launch of high-profile charity showcases that connect our most impactful organisations with government, funders and policy influencers.

Alongside this, you’ll own our impact and learning work, ensuring we capture and communicate the difference our work makes. You’ll work  closely with senior colleagues and be supported by the small but mighty Programme Team (a Programme Officer and Programme Assistant)  who you will also be line managing.

Key responsibilities

• Grant-making: Lead the end-to-end delivery of our core funding and scale-up programmes, from shaping programme design to ensuring the strongest applications reach our funding panels. You’ll keep the process running smoothly, support and steer our SACs, and maintain a  strong focus on quality and impact. This includes oversight of our Salesforce grants system, working with specialised contractors to ensure it  supports effective delivery.
• Strategic Applicant Consultants (SACs): Lead the recruitment, training, support and retention of our SAC pool, making sure they’re equipped,  motivated and connected. You’ll foster a strong sense of community and shared purpose across this talented group.
• Impact and monitoring: Lead The Fore’s impact and monitoring work, including producing our annual impact report and sector insights, and  commissioning external contractors for deeper analysis when needed. You’ll also ensure our portfolio is on track to deliver its plans, and support  organisations to adapt and thrive when challenges arise.
• Charity showcases: Spearhead our new high-profile showcase events, connecting outstanding small charities with policymakers, funders and  influencers.
• Peer learning and workshops: Maintain strategic oversight of our learning events for our portfolio, including peer-to-peer sessions and  workshops designed to build the skills and knowledge small charities need to maximise their impact.
• Funder engagement: Collaborate with the Partnerships Team to align programmes with funder interests and help build strong, enduring relationships.
• External representation: Represent The Fore by speaking at events, building relationships, and engaging with funders, networks, and sector  partners.
• Line management of Programme Team members – currently consists of the Programme Officer and Programme Assistant.

This is a broad and evolving role with plenty of scope to shape new initiatives and strengthen existing systems as the organisation grows.

Candidate profile
Skills and experience:

• 7+ years of professional experience in the business, public or third sector
• Strong project or programme management track record, with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams and deadlines
• Experience managing volunteers and/or direct reports
• Skilled at engaging a wide range of stakeholders and adapting communication style as needed
• Experience working in or with small charities or social enterprises is a bonus, but not essential. We’re looking for transferable skills and a clear  commitment to social impact

Attributes and mindset:

• Meticulously organised and confident managing complex logistics and timelines
• Excellent attention to detail, especially when coordinating multiple inputs and deliverables
• A clear, persuasive communicator and motivated people manager, able to bring others with you, maintain momentum, and foster collaboration
• Solutions-focused, curious, and energised by learning and problem-solving
• Comfortable in a small, fast-moving team and excited by the chance to take real ownership

Location: Vox Studios, 1–45 Durham Street, London, SE11 5JH (hybrid working, working from home on Wednesdays and Fridays)
Contract and salary: £50,000 (if full time). We’re ideally looking for someone able to work full time but would consider 3.5 days+ per week for  the right candidate. However, the role does require you to be in our London office three days a week.
Start: As soon as possible from August 2025
