About the Role 

We are looking for a Social Media and Engagement Officer with a genuine passion for conversation, connection, and community. This is not a broadcasting role — it’s about dialogue. You’ll be the voice of St John International across our social media channels, engaging with audiences in real time, responding thoughtfully to emerging conversations, and finding opportunities to amplify our work and our people. 

You’ll help us grow beyond our traditional audiences, reaching new spaces and communities, and positioning St John International as a global leader in first aid and humanitarian service. You’ll work closely with the Communications Team to bring our quarterly communications strategies to life and ensure every post, comment, and interaction reflects our shared purpose and values. 

The role reports to the Director of Communications and works closely with colleagues in the Fundraising Team and our network of international communicators across 44 St John Establishments. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Act as the first point of contact for St John International’s social media communities, responding to comments, messages, and discussions in a timely, engaging, and brand-aligned way. 

• Serve as a guardian of our brand voice — confident, compassionate, and inclusive — ensuring all communications reflect our global values. 

• Identify and nurture opportunities for meaningful engagement across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and emerging platforms. 

• Collaborate with the Communications Team to plan and execute content that supports quarterly communications strategies. 

• Monitor conversations about St John and related sectors, identifying trends, opportunities for thought leadership, and potential risks. 

• Support and elevate St John’s network of expert speakers, identifying new digital and offline platforms to showcase their expertise with broader audiences. 

• Work closely with colleagues across Establishments to gather stories, visuals, and insights that highlight our global impact. 

• Ensure all content and engagement reflect an understanding of cultural diversity, political sensitivity, and our international context. 

• Use social media analytics tools to monitor performance, report on engagement growth and sentiment, and provide insights to inform future strategy. 

• Occasionally attend events or workshops (in the UK or abroad) to capture stories and build relationships with partners. 

About You 

• You’re a natural communicator who thrives on genuine interaction and knows how to build rapport online. 

• You have a strong grasp of brand voice and can adapt tone and messaging to suit different audiences and contexts. 

• You’re curious and empathetic — able to navigate complex or conflicting information and find clarity in nuance. 

• You’re globally minded, culturally sensitive, and politically aware, with a good understanding of how narratives play differently across international regions. 

• You have demonstrable experience managing social media channels for an organisation, ideally with an international, humanitarian, or non-profit focus.

• You can confidently use analytics tools to measure and interpret social media performance. 

• Experience with tools such as Meta Business Suite, MailChimp, or similar is desirable.

• As our platforms develop, we’d love for you to be confident in short-form video editing. This would include turning raw footage from our St John Establishments or events into usable content for Reels, Shorts and LinkedIn videos. On the job training for this can be provided if needed.

Purpose of the Job 

We are seeking to hire 2 Individual Giving Officers. As the Individual Giving Officer, you will support the Individual Giving Managers developing our individual giving programmes, including acquisition through face to face, digital and direct mail channels and innovate within the space. The post-holder will take on specific campaigns and manage these from inception to completion including data selection, creative, print and post-campaign analysis. The role also offers a fantastic opportunity for the post-holder to help drive innovation in Individual Giving at Felix. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

The key focus of the role will be: 

1. Supporting the Individual Giving Managers with acquisition and retention activities. 
2. Taking a proactive role in supporter stewardship 
3. Insight and Evaluation 

Campaign Management – Supporter Acquisition and Retention  

• Help deliver a calendar of activities across digital and traditional channels in line with agreed budget targets  
• Campaign manage supporter updates from inception to completion including data selection, creative, print and post-campaign analysis  

Supporter Stewardship  

• Be proactive in refining and improving supporter stewardship processes and assist with updating related policies as required  
• Support the supporter care team with queries where required  
• Take a lead in updating and monitoring the Fundraising complaints log  

Developing in Legacy giving programme 

• Support in the development of an effective legacy acquisition and stewardship programme.  

Insight & Evaluation 

•  Produce post-campaign reports and make recommendations on refining approaches to improve overall performance 
•  Monitor Supporter attrition levels and implement measures to mitigate drop-offs  

Collaboration  

• Work with Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Manager on new income-generation opportunities  
• Work with the Marketing team to maximise opportunities utilising social media platforms  

General  

• Understanding of the Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practice, data protection and other relevant legislation, guidance and good practice 

Essential Criteria 

• Proven track record of campaign management across Individual Giving, across both acquisition and retention methods. 
• Previous experience of creating supporter journeys that have reduced attrition rates and increased supporter engagement. 
• Experience of using supporter databases for audience segmentation and insight. 
• Experience of supporter (or customer) care and managing queries and complaints. 
• Good numeracy and Excel skills. 
• Understanding of the regulatory environment for fundraising, including data protection, codes of fundraising practice and Gift Aid. Not essential but please state if you have experience with Gambling Protection laws and regulations (including LCCP). 
• Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels, and to work independently within a small team. 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.  
• A passion for fighting food waste and food inequality.

About the role

This role is an opportunity to support and shape a major programme of research on how to deliver more innovative health care for patients and the public. You will work alongside our subject matter experts to provide effective project support and organisation for this research.

We are looking for a project officer to provide the day to day business and project support to work across a range of projects but including an exciting new multi-year partnership exploring how innovation can be harnessed to support the health and care system towards delivering care closer to where people live.

You will act as the main point of contact for project participants and research contacts, organise events and activities and support the day to day financial management of projects, reforecasting budgets and setting up timelines. You will also undertake research support tasks including administering surveys, producing feedback reports for research participants and extracting and collating relevant information from key documents and websites.

This role requires experience of project management and of organising interviews, events, focus groups or similar activities, together with excellent administrative and financial skills. Experience of working in or with health and social care organisations would be an advantage.

Our Second Home (OSH) is a youth movement for young people with refugee experience to build community, become leaders, and flourish in the place they now call home. Each year, thousands of displaced young people arrive in the UK facing isolation, disruption to education, and limited opportunities to belong. OSH exists to change that.

Our work begins with residential programmes, where young people form friendships, build confidence, and experience joy and belonging. From there, many go on to take part in our nationally certified Leadership Training Programme and our regular Youth Hubs in London and Bristol. With the right support, young people return as peer leaders themselves – shaping programmes, mentoring others, and helping to build a self-sustaining, youth-led movement.

We are now looking for a Communications & Content Producer to help bring this work to life. This role is about turning the energy, warmth and leadership that exists across OSH into compelling stories, images and short videos that deepen connection with supporters, recruit volunteers, and support fundraising and events.

The role (abridged - see attached job description)

The Communications & Content Producer is a freelance role, working 1.5 days per week, reporting to the CEO. You will be responsible for capturing and producing content from across OSH’s programmes – particularly youth hubs, leadership training days and residentials – and shaping it into consistent, values-aligned output across our digital channels.

This includes attending programmes to capture photos, short-form video and quotes; identifying moments that tell the story of OSH; and maintaining a simple, organised content library. You will lead delivery of a regular social media rhythm, with a particular focus on Instagram, including posts, reels and stories, as well as adapting content for other platforms where appropriate.

You will develop and run a small number of recurring content series, write clear and engaging captions in UK English, and design simple, on-brand graphics using tools such as Canva. The role also involves producing a monthly supporter email newsletter, keeping key website pages up to date, supporting fundraising pushes and events such as the Young Leaders’ Graduation Showcase, and helping amplify partners, funders and sector allies.

Alongside content creation, you will put in place light systems – a content calendar, simple co-creation processes for staff and volunteers, and basic analytics – to track what is working and refine output over time.

About You

You do not need a traditional communications background, but you should be excited by youth spaces, storytelling and social impact. You are proactive, organised and practical, with the confidence to work independently and make good use of limited hours.

You will have experience managing social media channels and creating content for an organisation, campaign or project. You are comfortable capturing and editing photos and short-form video on a smartphone, writing clearly and concisely in UK English, and adapting tone for different platforms including Instagram, email and LinkedIn. You care about quality, but you are not precious – you get content made.

Crucially, you are confident working in youth and community settings, committed to safeguarding and consent, and thoughtful about how young people are represented. You build trust easily, encourage others to contribute ideas and content, and understand the importance of protecting dignity as well as telling a strong story.

Experience working or volunteering in youth, refugee or grassroots community settings is highly valued. Alignment with OSH’s values – young people at the centre, acting with not for, leadership, and freedom and acceptance – is essential.

Digital Officer

We are seeking a creative and driven Digital Officer to grow brand awareness and supporter engagement for an international environmental charity working to protect rainforests and support local communities.

Our CEO, Daisy Srblin, has served since May 2022, and is expecting to take maternity leave from May 2026. We are looking for an excellent Interim CEO, to steward YCF in her 9-12 months away, lead our team and keep our charity on track.

2026/27 is set to be a busy period for Young Camden Foundation, as we navigate a complex ecosystem for the voluntary sector, embed new projects, and drive forward the objectives of our 2025-28 strategy. This is also a pivotal year for fundraising efforts, as is the case for many in our sector, and maintaining strong leadership on behalf of our dynamic and talented team will also be essential.

We are looking for an experienced Interim CEO, who brings particular proven expertise around fundraising, people and budget management, and reporting, as well as confidence in stakeholder relationships and proven leadership experience.

You will be responsible for a team of 7, reporting to a board of twelve, and managing a budget of around £1.3m. You will be responsible for the effective management and delegation of responsibilities throughout the team, via your three direct line reports. You will be responsible for reporting to funders on a regular basis, who fund everything from YCF’s core operations to our grants and onward projects. You will oversee YCF’s complex functions, including grant giving, membership and training, and youth engagement.

You will lead on YCF’s fundraising goals for 26/27 and beyond, helping to put YCF on a firm and confident footing as we look to the future. You will also lead external engagement work at the charity, ensuring YCF is represented and advocating in high-level spaces in Camden, whether with Camden Council, local Councillors, sector and member leaders, and local businesses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The job of a CEO is hard to define, especially in a small charity, so the list below is by no means exhaustive, or reflective of all the responsibilities you will undertake in post.

However, these summarise the key areas of responsibility and priority as Interim CEO in the 9-12 month period:

1. Fundraising on behalf of our objectives

2026 is a pivotal fundraising year for YCF, as with so many in the sector. You will lead on our fundraising efforts (including identifying and writing bids) for both core and project funding in this important year, to put YCF on the strongest financial footing possible in delivering our objectives to 2028.

2. Team management and leadership

The YCF team is a dynamic mix of individuals, ranging from longer-serving staff to newer staff. You will effectively lead our people (YCF’s key asset) driving performance by identifying development opportunities, and effectively delegating to get the most out of our team. You will also be called upon to make judgement calls on behalf of the team, when these come up.

3. Stewarding our finances

In our small organisation, the CEO is chiefly responsible for the effective stewardship of our finances. Working closely with our Finance Manager, you will set our 27/28 budget and steward and monitor our performance across both financial years (including around fundraising targets). You will oversee an effective audit process in 2026, and ensure records and invoicing are meticulous and kept up to date.

4. Supporting project management and delivery

While staff members hold responsibility for their work streams, YCF is a small team, and you will have overall responsibility and oversight for all delivery, including two sizeable projects in the 26/27 year (the delivery of the UK Government’s Holiday Food and Activities programme, (HAF) on behalf of the Borough of Camden, and YCF’s new cross-borough programme tackling Serious Youth Violence). You will ensure strong delivery across each workstream, identifying opportunities for development throughout, and stepping in where needed.

5. Ensuring effective communication

YCF has a wide range of stakeholders, including members, funders, partners and many others from our cross section of voluntary, public and private sector partnerships. You will be an effective communicator (verbally and in written form) and able to represent YCF in the spaces needed, including with prospective partners, on strategic boards, and with high-level stakeholders. You will lead the team in our written reporting to funders, guiding the team to harness our data to communicate our impact.

6. Oversee governance 

Bringing experience with Board accountability, you will report to the board quarterly, and work closely with the Chair to ensure progress is being driven forward on YCF’s strategic objectives.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for the following essential experience in our prospective Interim CEO candidate:

- Successful fundraising experience: You will have proven experience in fundraising in a VCS context, including from Trusts & Foundations, corporate sources, and Local Authorities. You will have direct experience in writing applications, making pitches and so on.

- Proven finance experience: As a proven sector leader, you will have experience managing complex and large organisational budgets. You will be able to demonstrate how you have set and managed budgets in the past, including stewarding budgets to effective use.

- Leadership and team management: You will have experience of leading teams, including in contexts without an internal HR function where these are held by the CEO. You will be well versed in all aspects of team leadership, including managing performance, supporting morale and maintaining YCF’s positive team culture. You will have held the position of Director or CEO before, and have experience reporting to a Board of Trustees, and knowledge of governance arrangements that support a healthy charity.

- Exceptional communication: You will demonstrate proven exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. You will be well versed in compiling strong reporting to funders and stakeholders, as well as producing high quality reports for Trustees. You will also be an exceptional verbal communicator, representing YCF and the needs of our members in advocacy spaces.

- Project start up and management: While YCF has senior leaders to oversee work delivery, you will bring your own experience in project management, to help support existing and new projects at YCF, namely the Tackling Serious Youth Violence Project, which will begin in 2026.

- A positive attitude: Working in a small charity is tremendously rewarding, but it can be tough to lead a small organisation. You will demonstrate proven maturity in navigating those challenges, while bringing an optimism and positive attitude to your work, including all of the (many) responsibilities that fall outside of the ‘usual’ CEO job description, in a small charity.  

We would also ideally be looking for some of the following desirable areas of expertise and experience:

- Working in a youth setting: Our Interim CEO will need to share our passion for a stronger Camden for all children and young people. Ideally you will also bring experience of working in a youth setting or for a youth focused charity in the past, and be familiar with some of the challenges facing children and young people

- Grant making: Our Interim CEO will steward a significant grant-making budget of around £1m per year. Our ideal candidate would bring knowledge of hyper-local grant giving for community led organisations

- Working with and for community groups: Our team works predominantly (though not exclusively) with members who are micro, small and medium sized. Ideally you will be well versed in the unique challenges facing grassroots community VCS organisations. You may bring experience leading a small charity yourself, proving your understanding of the unique leadership challenges in doing so

- Understanding Camden: YCF’s work is unapologetically rooted in our borough, with all its challenges and opportunities. Our ideal candidate brings an understanding of the challenges of living within inner London, particularly for communities facing disadvantage.
