Burnham and Weston Energy CIC is looking for a programme manager to nurture and grow our energy advice service.
The service is delivered by a small team of trained Home Energy Advisors who visit people in their homes to provide advice on how they can save money on their bills and make their homes warmer and healthier to live in. They also install small energy efficiency measures such as LED lights, draft proofing and radiator reflectors. Households are then referred on to further support to help them access welfare payments and grant funding for home upgrades including insulation, boiler replacement and energy efficient appliances.
The current team of 2 Home Energy Advisors have capacity to deliver around 700 home visits per year. We receive referrals from a range of local organisations. We employ a Programme Co-ordinator to manage and generate home visit referrals and bookings, provide follow up support, and manage events and communications.
From this foundation, our growth objectives for the Home Energy Savings service are to:
- Continue to raise awareness of the service amongst local organisations and the public, and increase the number of referrals and vulnerable householders who benefit.
- Grow the team of Home Energy Advisors as demand requires, to at least double the team by the end of 2025.
- Secure additional funding to support the service.
- Develop partnerships which broaden and deepen the ways we can help households, including unlocking funding and support for energy efficiency retrofit.
Role responsibilities

Manage, mentor and support our team of Home Energy Advisors and the Programme Co-ordinator, and oversee its growth.

Responsible for team safeguarding, H&S, mental health, team building, mentoring and training;
- Manage the delivery of our Home Energy Saving Service across North Somerset and the former districts of Sedgemoor and West Somerset and Taunton, seeking opportunities to strengthen and grow the service.
- Manage the delivery of grant funder requirements including ensuring KPIs are met, budgets managed and reports provided.
- Manage the delivery of our referral partnership contract with LEAP AgilityEco including ensuring KPIs and contractual requirement are met and that households referred to LEAP receive the best possible support.
- To secure and manage further funding partnerships (such as Redress or MCS funding),
- Responsible for ensuring company policies relating to the advice programme are kept up to date and consistent with requirements or partners. Responsible for ensuring working practice is in accordance with our policies and that risk assessments and management plans are in place and adhered to.
- Manage relationships with organisations referring households to the energy support programme and receiving onward referrals from us.
- Develop partnerships which broaden and deepen the ways we can help households.
- Develop our CRM and IT systems.
- Represent Burnham & Weston Energy at local events and forums, nurture and grow our networks and relationships with local stakeholders and deliver our comms via the website and social media channels.
Essential requiremnts:
- Experience of leading and managing home visit teams including safeguarding, H&S, mental health, risk assessment and management, team building, mentoring and training. Experience of managing front line service teams is more important to us than energy advice experience. We can organise mentoring support from other community energy enterprises who have developed and scaled up local energy advice services.
- Experience of overseeing complex case work.
- Experience of grant programme and service contract management including management of budgets, KPI delivery, reporting and meeting funder requirements.
- Experience of securing grant and service contract funding including applications, contract negotiation and ensuring funding requirements are in place.
- Committed to and rooted in the communities we serve: Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Highbridge, Mark, Winscombe and the surrounding rural areas.
- Understand the local public, community and private sector landscape and be well networked.
- An ability to bring people together, bring out the best in people and make things happen.
Useful requirements:
- Understand the complex world of energy support funding.
- Experience of being a home energy advisor and/or managing home energy advice teams.
- A track record of business development, ideally in a social enterprise, charity or public service context.
- Competent with communications and social media.
- Confident in network and relationship building.

What is expected of you in the first six months?
- You will take on the management of at least one UK Government-funded health partnership grants programme operating across a range of countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

- You will take over project governance structures, managing the inputs of programmes team members, Country Directors and implementing partners.
- You will organise and attend a programme launch event in-country, as well as visit health institutions in sub-Saharan Africa.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Management
- Coordinate staff and implementing partners to ensure the timely completion of deliverables.
- Quality assure the application of THET’s grant management processes by other team members.
- Ensure compliance with donor/country agreements, regulations and requirements.
- Identify, track and manage programmatic risk.
- Ensure effective communication with partners, donors and other stakeholders.
- Oversee project budgets, including monitoring spend against budget, undertaking re-forecasting, and authorising spend.
- Oversee the quarterly reporting process to donors.
- Coordinate and support workstream leads within the project.
Programme quality and design
- Contribute to the design of new projects: co-ordinating the proposal team; overseeing a needs analysis; liaising with stakeholders; contributing to a Theory of Change; developing content; and developing the budget.
- Develop and nurture relationships with potential and existing donors, partner organisations and consultants as appropriate.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of project and health partnership quality programme approaches, including standards, processes, tools and guidance.
- Contribute to the delivery of capacity development interventions for grant holders and THET staff.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- With support from the Research, Evidence and Learning team, oversee Monitoring and Evaluation processes for the programmes you lead, e.g. logframe and reporting mechanisms
- Lead the quarterly and annual reporting and analysis review process with institutional donors.
- Write project reports and programme reviews, and coordination of donor reporting as appropriate.
- Ensure grant holders have effective M&E plans in place and coordinate the review of their reports.
- Coordinate visits to project implementation sites for monitoring and audit purposes.
- Facilitate learning and sharing of good practices across programmes and the wider organisation.
Team Support and Line Management
- Line manage members of the Programmes Team (1-2 Programmes Coordinators).
- Oversee the contracting, payments and deliverables of in-country consultants and other suppliers.
- Lead the induction process for new Programmes Team members and other THET staff when required.
- Work with colleagues from across the team to identify areas for improvement and strengthening.
Miscellaneous
- Attend and present THET’s work at UK and international events, including the THET annual conference.
- Join your choice of THET’s and external thematic working groups, such as on gender equality and social inclusion, on the climate crisis, etc.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of THET and play a leadership role in the Programmes Team

About the role
This is an exciting time to join Young Lives vs Cancer as we set up a new Brand Marketing and Communications function including a team of digital experts.
We are looking to recruit two Digital Marketing Officers to join the newly created Digital Engagement team working to deliver exceptional digital activity that delivers against organisational objectives. One successful candidate will lead on supporting social channels and the other on email marketing, however both roles will be expected to work across all digital channels and cover for each other as necessary.
You will work on digital campaigns across email, organic social and paid digital marketing channels, including PPC and social media. This role will be vital in setting up a new digital hub of expertise within the organisation and helping to drive forward the best use of digital channels.
Key responsibilities include:
• Work with stakeholder teams to develop digital marketing campaigns across paid, earned and owned channels delivering against KPI’s for income, campaigning and brand awareness.
• Work closely with colleagues creating content and landing pages on the website to optimise supporter journeys through digital channels
• Monitor the impact of marketing campaigns to report on key KPI’s and metrics. Using tools within social media platforms and Google analytics.
• Monitor and follow trends within digital and innovation in order to improve the organisation’s digital presence and activities

Position: S11168 Stroke Association - Emotional Support Coordinator/Counsellor
Location: Home-based West Cornwall, with frequent travel across Cornwall required as part of this role (May include team meetings or other work-related meetings)
Hours: Full or part-time hours, 2 x 18 hours per week positions or 1x 35 hours per week position
Salary: Circa £29,900 per annum, pro rata
Contract: This is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2026. We currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role
The project funded by the Elwyn Thomas Memorial Fund will deliver an Emotional Support Service as well as through collaborative community working, will result in valuable assets for the community. In the shape of self-sustaining peer and volunteer led support through groups, partnerships and activities.
Reporting to the Emotional Support Service Manager, the team will deliver a professional counselling service to stroke survivors, carers and relatives. Counselling sessions are designed to help clients to develop emotional resilience, readjust to life after stroke and prepare to reintegrate into community life.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Providing one to one counselling to stroke survivors, carers and relatives including those with communication or cognitive difficulties
· Providing counselling sessions in person, on-line or by telephone, throughout Cornwall
· Assessing the appropriateness of counselling for service users by providing emotional needs assessment sessions as well as using appropriate screening/evaluation tools (e.g. PHQ and GAD)
· Managing risk and safeguarding issues in accordance with appropriate legal, ethical and organisational requirements.
About You
You will have:
· An advanced diploma in integrative, humanistic or person-centred counselling/psychotherapy; for example, BACP recognised course or equivalent (i.e. 450 hours skills and theory, 100 hours of supervised practice, 20 hours of personal therapy)
· A minimum of 1 year post qualification supervised clinical practice
· BACP registration (or equivalent) and actively working towards accreditation
· Experience of delivering short-term counselling
· Experience of working with people with cognitive impairment
This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role. You must live in the West area of Cornwall to fulfil this travel requirement.
