• Communications - Write clear, engaging, and persuasive policy briefs, reports, and position papers to communicate Access's policy priorities to government and other stakeholders. Contribute to Access's wider communications strategy by developing blogs, reports, press releases, and speeches to amplify the organisation’s role in shaping public policy.
• Evidence and storytelling - Use data, sector insights, and compelling case studies to create narratives that not only advocate for policy change but also strengthen Access's position as a thought leader.

Fulham Palace is a truly remarkable place. For centuries, this Grade I listed building situated in extensive grounds by the River Thames was the country residence of the Bishop of London. Fulham Palace Trust runs a number of public events each year, ranging from 50 to 5,000 attendees. They bring in a c. £75,000 surplus to the Trust, as well as additional donation and retail income. Following a successful expansion of these events over the past three years, we're looking to build on this programme further. In addition, we are building our reputation as a location for photos shoots and filming and as a venue for major music concerts and festivals.

Reporting to the commercial and visitor experience manager (CVEM), you will develop and co-ordinate public events and filming taking place on site.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and quick-thinking public events and filming manager. Someone full of ideas and with a passion for generating income and promoting Fulham Palace, helping the organisation grow and develop.

You will need to be highly motivated, organised and able to work with minimal supervision. You must be able to multi-task and manage a complex workload. You should have excellent event management and planning skills and be able to take an imaginative, strategic and creative approach to your work, including developing new events. We want someone who is commercially-minded, who can see potential and plan the steps to delivery.

The Events Officer will be responsbile for delivering a wide range of events to our members such as training courses and the annual conference, and must be a highly organised and enthusiastic individual working in collaboration and partnership with one other part time Events Officer. Responsibilities to Include:

PR & Media

· Enhance the charity’s profile among targeted audiences through strategic PR activities and diverse media channels, both B2C and B2B.

· Proactively cultivate, build and maintain relationships with media partners at local, regional, and national levels in both trade and consumer media, including print, online, and broadcast platforms, as well as with individual journalists.

· Write compelling and clear press releases, blogs, articles, and statements to effectively communicate our messages.

· Respond promptly to press enquiries for comments, views, and supporting information, and maximise opportunities for further engagement on relevant topics.

· Support the fundraising team by highlighting partner stories, managing PR efforts, and supporting events.

· Lead the pursuit of media-related funding opportunities, such as The Times and Sunday Times Christmas Appeal and corporate opportunities like BGC and ICAP days.

What you will be doing

This is a strategic and creative role at the heart of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s national fundraising and engagement efforts. The post holder will lead the development and delivery of national community and challenge event programmes across all four UK regions (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland).

Using strong project and campaign management skills, the role will grow existing initiatives charity owned initiatives such as the Great British Dog Walk and the 28 Challenge and develop new, audience-led campaigns that inspire public participation, drive fundraising, and deepen long-term engagement with the charity.

In addition to the owned initiatives, the role will promote Hearing Dogs for Deaf People to participants of external national events such as The Great North Run or the London Marathon.

The ultimate objectives are to drive income generation and guide supporters from initial involvement to becoming volunteers for the broader work of the charity and legacy pledgers.

The Events Coordinator Role will be part of the Philanthropy & Events Team, within the Income and Engagement Directorate, and will report to our Philanthropy Events Manager.

Starlight has a strong and longstanding record of delivering successful and profitable philanthropy events. Thanks to special relationships over many years, our annual Newbury Raceday (hosted by racing guru Nicky Henderson and his Committee), and our biennial Blenheim Ball (led by Lady Alexandra Spencer-Churchill and her Committee), are recognised as sector-leading in both profile and income.

The Philanthropy & Events team was newly established in 2024 to specifically focus on maximising our existing special events calendar, developing new event concepts, and growing a tailored programme for philanthropic and major donor relationships. This is an exciting time to join the team, as we embed our Philanthropy & Events strategy, explore new ideas and work closely together, to achieve our ambitions for sustainable income growth.

The postholder will develop and lead fundraising and partnerships, raising crucial funds to support MumsAid’s growth. We are looking for an experienced, versatile fundraiser who can hit the ground running, bring a holistic approach and work with a range of donors and funders to help MumsAid develop a sustainable income pipeline. 

This role has strategic accountability for fundraising and managing funder relationships. You will lead our competitive tendering and grant application work, and develop our corporate partnerships.

This is a part-time post, flexible on location, although some travel within the UK may be required. The role will provide support at fundraising events, requiring some occasional evening and weekend commitments (for which time in lieu will be granted).

Main Duties 

Leadership and Management: 

· Work alongside the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board (particularly the Fundraising and Marketing Subgroup) to proactively identify potential sources of funding and realise opportunities for growth. 

· Devise and develop appropriate strategies, produce and deliver strong proposals and pitches. 

· Provide knowledge of current fundraising practice and develop a consistent working strategy that is sustainable.

· Assist in informing long-term financial/business planning and clarifying priorities. 

· Support the SLT and Board in developing a comprehensive framework for reporting on the charity’s impact, including to funders. 

Oversee and support monitoring submissions.

Fundraising:

· Develop, implement and evaluate a fundraising strategy in line with MumsAid’s priorities, to include key areas of focus – fundraising from trusts and foundations, statutory fundraising, corporate fundraising, to secure c. £500k over the next 2 years.

· Research, formulate and write applications, bids and tenders, including to statutory funders and trusts and foundations, coordinating with other team members for input as necessary.

· Build strong relationships with existing and potential funders, partners and stakeholders.

· Write reports for funders to meet deadlines and submit further applications for existing funders where appropriate.

· Work with the SLT and Board to develop and maintain strong relationships with commissioners, funders, partners and corporate organisations to ensure good communication about organisational/project progress, address any issues that arise, and identify new income streams. 

Organisational and General Duties: 

· Maximise fundraising efficiency by using and developing our CRM to ensure there is a clear process for recording and managing fundraising activity. 

· Contribute to the financial planning, budgeting and management accounts process. 

· Contribute to the development of MumsAid’s understanding and communication of our Return on Investment (ROI).

· Report regularly on KPIs, monitoring and evaluating against social impact and ROI. 

· Develop and manage a reporting schedule for the Board and funders to ensure monitoring and reporting is in done in an effective manner in line with organisational priorities, tracking restricted and unrestricted income, project development and targets. 

· Maintain awareness of fundraising and charity law and ensure that activity adheres to relevant legislation and guidance. 

Communications and Marketing: 

Liaise with colleagues to help shape and implement our marketing and communications plan, ensuring our reputation is upheld and our knowledge is shared through positive, consistent and accurate communications and messaging.

· Articulate speaker, able to present and repackage complex information in succinct and digestible format.

Main Purpose of the Role (Sole Lead)

• Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate communications, marketing, and engagement strategies.
  • Lead all communications activities, ensuring brand consistency.
  • Monitor and evaluate strategy effectiveness with KPIs and report to the leadership team and Board of Trustees.
  • Stay updated on charity communications trends.

• Content Creation & Storytelling 
  • Social Media: Create and execute dynamic strategies to grow engagement.
  • Reports & Publications: Draft and publish Quarterly board and annual reports, presentations, and other documents.
  • Source and develop compelling stories from stakeholders, ensuring consent.
• Digital Engagement & Management 
  • Website: Develop and update produce high-quality, engaging content.
  • Create SEO Strategy and Website content. 
  • Plan and create engaging newsletters and appeals.
• Media Relations & PR
  • Lead proactive and reactive communications and marketing.
  • Develop relationships with key journalists and media influencers.
  • Prepare charity spokespeople for media appearances.
  • Prepare and submit Charity Award Applications
• Stakeholder Engagement & Events
  • Ensure systematic and sustained stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee and deliver high-quality events, including the annual celebration event. 

Skills Required

• Creative flair and strong communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to draft high-quality documents for a range of audiences

About the Role

As our Senior Events Officer, you’ll take the lead in planning and delivering a portfolio of high-profile fundraising events that inspire, engage and make a real difference for kidney patients. From overseeing event logistics and marketing to managing budgets and nurturing supporter relationships, you’ll ensure every event runs smoothly and every supporter feels valued.

You’ll also mentor and guide either our Event Officer or Fundraising Assistant, helping to build a high-performing team that shares your passion for delivering outstanding events.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the planning, management, and delivery of a varied portfolio of fundraising and challenge events, for example: Cambridge Half Marathon | The Big Half | London Landmarks Half Marathon | Manchester Half Marathon | Virtual Challenges (Marathon May, October Dog Walk) | Great North Run | Cardiff Half Marathon | Do your own thing | plus other events as agreed
• Oversee event budgets, monitoring costs and ensuring financial targets are met.
• Line-manage, coach and support the Fundraising Assistant to ensure team success.
• Develop and implement marketing and recruitment strategies to maximise participation and income.
• Deliver exceptional supporter experiences, ensuring participants feel valued and inspired.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, agencies and partners.
• Ensure all events comply with health, safety, insurance and risk regulations.
• Evaluate event performance and produce insightful reports to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with colleagues across fundraising and communications teams for integrated campaigns.
• Keep up-to-date with market trends, exploring new opportunities for the charity.

What You’ll Bring

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a fundraising or events role, with a proven ability to deliver successful events.
• Proven experience in organising challenge events, using creativity and strategy to maximise participation and revenue.
• Line management experience, coaching and inspiring colleagues to reach their potential.
• Excellent project management skills – you can juggle multiple events and deadlines with ease.
• A creative flair for spotting opportunities, developing ideas and executing them flawlessly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you know how to build lasting relationships.
• A passionate, energetic, and self-motivated approach to delivering excellent supporter experiences.
• Experience managing budgets and suppliers to ensure smooth event delivery.
• An eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving, keeping events running seamlessly.

Desirable:

• Experience with Beacon or other fundraising databases.
• Knowledge of fundraising regulations and data protection.
• Understanding of long-term or chronic health conditions.
