This vital role within the Landmark Trust’s fundraising team focuses on delivering excellent supporter engagement across the Landmark Friends, Lundy Friends and Marisco Club supporter schemes. You will manage the day-to-day administration of these groups with the highest standards of supporter care and deliver a programme of small events and communications to engage and retain these supporters. Working closely with the Development Manager (Patrons) and other colleagues in Development, you will also support the delivery of events for the Landmark Patrons, and other supporters as needed.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in giving high-quality customer service, with strong communication skills and a keen attention to detail. You will be comfortable speaking to supporters on the phone and at in-person at events, drafting personalised letters and emails, and managing various administrative tasks. While fundraising experience isn’t essential, you will bring experience of a customer-facing or supporter-focused role, excellent organisational skills and, ideally, of working with databases. An interest in the charity sector, and heritage in particular, would be an advantage.

This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone looking to develop a career in fundraising and supporter engagement within a unique heritage organisation.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supporter engagement, stewardship and recruitment

• Deliver excellent supporter care, responding to enquiries, welcoming new Friends and Lundy supporters and building relationships to ensure that all supporters feel valued and appreciated, and to grow and retain the Landmark and Lundy supporter base.
• Support donor stewardship activities, including drafting timely thank-you communications, responding to email and telephone enquiries, assisting with the production of regular newsletters, and impact stories.
• Work alongside the Development Manager (Patrons) to promote all the Landmark Trust’s supporter schemes to existing Landmark contacts and new audiences.
• Work alongside the Development Manager (Patrons) and the Lundy Managing Director on Lundy supporter recruitment, promoting the Lundy schemes to the islands’ visitors, followers, and new audiences.

Event coordination and delivery

• Work alongside the Development Manager (Patrons) to:

1. coordinate the regular programme of online talks for all supporter schemes
2. plan, coordinate and deliver the regular programme of in person events for Landmark Friends, including site visits to Landmark properties and other places of interest.

• Support the Development Manager (Patrons) with the delivery of the Patrons event programme.
• Work within the wider Development team to assist with the planning and delivery of other supporter events, as required e.g. during the fundraising phase of a project.
• Manage event logistics including invitations, RSVPs, guest lists, internal safety and briefing materials and liaising with venues.
• Represent the Landmark Trust, with other members of the Development team, at events.

Data management and administration

• Maintain accurate supporter records within the CRM system, ensuring that data held is accurate, up to date and in line with current best practice in the sector.
• Assist with reporting on fundraising performance and campaigns.

Communications

• Support the creation of engaging content for all supporter schemes across email, digital, and print channels.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Marketing and Engagement teams to support social media posts and wider Landmark communications relating to the supporter schemes.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in Marketing, and external agencies, as required, to produce the annual Landmark calendar.

General

The Job 

Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, this role sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising team. The Church Engagement and Events Officer will play a key role in building relationships with churches, supporters and volunteers across Britain, Ireland and Europe, helping them engage more deeply with USPG's vision and mission. 

You will lead the planning and delivery of USPG's events programme, including the USPG Conference, Founder's Day, In Conversation Dinners and the annual Carol Service, as well as supporting the organisation's presence at festivals, synods and other national events. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will help create inspiring and engaging experiences that raise awareness of USPG's global mission. 

As the first point of contact for many church supporters, you will provide excellent stewardship, support and resources that inspire churches and communities to engage through prayer, giving and action. You will also contribute to the development of USPG's church engagement activity, helping to strengthen supporter relationships and increase engagement across the church year.

You are a confident and proactive relationship builder with experience in planning events and working with churches, supporters, volunteers or Christian organisations. You are passionate about helping people engage with mission, justice and the global Church. 

An organised and effective communicator, you can manage multiple projects and events, build strong stakeholder relationships and work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. The Sick Children's Trust is the charity that provides a welcoming 'Home from Home' where families with a sick child in hospital can stay. But we're more than bricks and mortar, our friendly, caring staff are there to support families when they really need it.

The Role

You will lead the development of community fundraising across the UK, supporting and inspiring individuals, families, schools, community groups, volunteers and local businesses to raise funds for the charity. About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in communications and/or marketing to become part of an accomplished and proactive team at the heart of the fight against market-driven deforestation and nature loss.

The Communications Officer will support the Communications Lead to deliver communications activity across the Corporate Performance programme, with responsibility for the day-to-day delivery and coordination of digital communications, including website content, newsletters, social media, webinars and media monitoring.

The role will work closely with programme colleagues, subject-matter experts and the wider Communications team to develop accurate, engaging and audience-focused content, and to ensure communications activity is delivered effectively, consistently and on time.

Responsibilities

• Manage and publish content across Global Canopy’s websites, keeping content accurate, up to date, accessible and aligned with programme and organisational objectives.
• Coordinate and deliver newsletters and email communications, including drafting, building and sending Mailchimp campaigns, advising on email tactics and best practice, and monitoring campaign performance.
• Draft, edit and proofread communications content, including website copy, newsletter content, social media copy, webinar materials and other digital communications, working with subject-matter experts to translate technical information into clear and engaging content.
• Coordinate and support external Communications webinars, including publicity, invitations, communications materials, technical hosting, moderator and housekeeping materials, liaison with speakers and interpreters, and preparation and publication of webinar recordings.
• Monitor relevant communications, digital and sustainability trends and the external news landscape, identifying opportunities and recommending approaches that could strengthen Global Canopy’s communications.
• Support social media communications, including drafting copy, creating social share kits and maintaining communications resources, in collaboration with Communications Leads and the Digital Communications Designer.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly monitoring across media coverage, webinar engagement and Mailchimp analytics – maintaining media records, evaluating coverage and actively contributing as part of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) working group.
• Support the management of journalist lists, undertaking research for media outreach, and logging and evaluating media coverage.
• Maintain communications resources, including relevant website content and image banks, ensuring content is well organised and consistent with Global Canopy’s brand.
• Work collaboratively across the Communications and programme teams, providing communications support and expertise as required.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: £33,000 full time equivalent. This role sits within Band E on Global Canopy’s remuneration framework.

Nature of contract: Full-time, 14-month maternity cover. Our office is in Oxford, with flexible home-working arrangements in place. Attendance at the office would be required once a month at minimum, with additional attendance for Corporate Performance quarterly meetings. 

Holidays: 36 days (including bank/public holidays) for discretionary use across the annual leave year. Option to purchase up to an additional 5 days or equivalent of one week’s leave.

Creativity and innovation will be important in shaping how Bhip communicates its purpose, work, learning and impact, alongside the strategic judgement to understand what needs to be communicated, why, to whom and through which channels.

You will be confident developing and evolving a communications strategy, identifying audiences, shaping messages, narratives and tone of voice, and considering how complex and sensitive issues are communicated.

Strong cultural awareness and understanding will be important, including an appreciation of how culture, language, identity and lived experience can shape how different communities understand and respond to information. The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to establish and shape the communications function for Bhip from the ground up, playing a central role in how a new, nationally significant programme is understood, positioned and experienced. The Communications Lead will set the strategic communications direction for Bhip, shaping its narrative, language, messaging and voice, and ensuring communications support the programme’s wider ambitions to address health inequities, challenge structural racism and discrimination, strengthen community voice and influence meaningful system change.

With significant scope to shape the direction of communications, the role will span strategy, positioning, messaging, identity, campaigns, digital communications, creative content, media, storytelling and engagement. It will consider not only what Bhip communicates, but how it communicates it, ensuring language, stories and narratives are accessible, thoughtful, culturally relevant and reflective of the programme’s anti-racist and community-led approach

As Bhip develops through co-design, learning and evaluation, the communications strategy will evolve with it, creating opportunities to test new approaches, respond to emerging issues, share learning and strengthen the programme’s influence. The role will work across the programme and partnership to ensure communications are connected to the wider work of Bhip and contribute to its strategic ambitions.

With the freedom and responsibility to shape the communications direction of a five-year programme, you will help establish how Bhip communicates locally, regionally and nationally. About the role

As Strategic Communications Officer, you’ll help turn Global Witness’s investigations, campaigns and expertise into compelling stories that cut through and make an impact. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll support proactive and reactive media work across a wide range of issues – from developing strong story angles and drafting press materials, to pitching to journalists, supporting spokespeople and responding to breaking news.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll have real responsibility and the opportunity to see your work contribute directly to Global Witness’s campaigning and organisational goals.

You’ll help shape media plans, identify opportunities in the news agenda, build relationships with journalists and support the day-to-day running of our press office. You’ll also play an important role in helping us learn from and improve our media work, ensuring our communications are timely, strategic and reach the audiences who can help create change.

The Role

This is a hands-on communications role sitting at the centre of a small, ambitious and growing charity.

The Communications Manager will take responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering communications across Not A Phase. You will bring together communications from across our services, campaigns, fundraising, partnerships and events, ensuring that what we communicate is engaging, accessible, consistent and recognisably Not A Phase.

This is not simply a social media role. We are looking for someone who can see the bigger picture of the charity's communications while also being comfortable doing the work themselves - writing copy, developing campaigns, briefing creatives, producing content, updating the website, coordinating photography and filming, creating newsletters and making sure projects actually get delivered.

You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to understand what is happening within our services and turn that activity into compelling communications for our community, supporters, partners, funders and the wider public.

You will also play an important role in protecting and developing the voice of Not A Phase: positive, confident, human, community-led and grounded in the lived experiences of trans+ people.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy, Planning & Coordination

• Own and deliver an organisation-wide communications plan aligned with Not A Phase’s strategy and priorities.

• Maintain a forward calendar covering services, campaigns, events, partnerships, fundraising and key dates.

• Work across teams to identify opportunities, coordinate activity and ensure projects are supported from launch through to impact.

2. Content, Storytelling & Brand

• Lead on writing and editing clear, accessible content for web, email, campaigns, reports, fundraising, partnerships and organisational updates.

• Tell compelling stories that reflect the breadth of our work and celebrate trans+ community, creativity, achievement and joy.

• Protect and develop the Not A Phase brand, messaging and tone of voice, helping colleagues and partners communicate consistently.

3. Digital, Social & Campaigns

• Lead our digital and social media communications, representing our programmes, locations, communities and partnerships.

• Plan joined-up campaigns across social media, email, web and partner channels, including relevant LGBTQIA+ and diversity calendar moments.

• Keep our website and email communications current, grow audiences and use performance data to improve activity.

4. Content Capture & Creative Production

• Plan photography, video, testimonials and other content across services and events.

• Attend selected activities to capture or coordinate content, managing external creatives where needed.

• Maintain an organised asset library and ensure consent, safeguarding and privacy processes are followed.

5. Community Reach & Service Communications

• Clearly communicate our services, who they are for and how to access them.

• Develop targeted communications to increase participation and reach new and underrepresented audiences, including people outside major cities.

• Use feedback to make communications clearer, more accessible and effective.

6. Partnerships, Fundraising & Impact

• Support fundraising and partnership communications, clearly showing the value and impact of support.

• Create materials, stories and case studies using service data, feedback and testimonials.

• Work collaboratively with external partners on developing and promoting partnership communications.

• Help communicate organisational progress and strengthen relationships with supporters, funders and partners.

7. Media & Responsive Communications

• Support our external profile through press releases, statements, briefings, media relationships and spokesperson preparation.

• Work with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team on sensitive or fast-moving communications, using sound judgement and keeping responses grounded in our mission.

• Prepare appropriate messaging where public or reputational issues arise.

8. Insight & Improvement

• Monitor performance, set practical communications KPIs and report useful insight to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team.

• Use audience data to improve communications, systems and processes, while keeping up with relevant charity and digital communications practice.

Person Specification

Essential

• UK Based 

• Experience in a charity, community or purpose-led organisation.

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to make complex information clear and engaging.

• Strong communications, marketing or content experience, including multi-channel campaigns.

• Strong digital and social media experience, including websites, email, audience growth and performance insight.

• Excellent organisation and project-management skills, with the ability to plan ahead and manage competing deadlines.
