As Volunteer Team Leader / Deputy Team Leader, you will play a key role in empowering people to create safer communities. 

You will lead the local volunteer team, setting direction and ensuring activity aligns with Crimestoppers’ mission that people are the ones who stop crime. 

You will working closely with the Police, Community Safety Partnerships, and local organisations, and help deliver campaigns and events that improve community safety.

Projects You May Support

1. Friendship Group

2. Joy Hub

• Purpose: Monthly free outings planned by the Friendship Group—examples include bowling, cinema, theatre, and museum visits.

• Ensuring everyone feels included.
• Encouraging individuals to participate and build confidence.
• Helping with practical tasks such as navigating meeting points, refreshments, and transitions between activities.
• Building rapport through supportive, calm interactions.
• Reporting any concerns or incidents to staff.

Fight for Home Group Chair [Bristol]

Are you keen to use your creative energy or leadership skills to bring people together to fight for home?

Information about the role

This role will lead and shape our Fight for Home group. This will involve organising meetings, communicating with other group members and keeping the group engaged and enthusiastic.

With a team of other volunteers you’ll come up with ideas, plans and deliver fundraising events. As well as raising funds, you’ll also be sharing awareness of the local housing emergency within your local area. 

Location: Bristol

Suggested contribution: It’s flexible, but at least once a month, with potential for more volunteering in the lead up to an event.

What You’ll Do

Bring joy and stimulation to people living with dementia by planning and running creative, engaging activities at our day care centre, that encourage connection, laughter and participation. You will volunteer within WECIL’s befriending service for disabled children/young people and their families. This involves:

• Spending time regularly with a disabled child or young person in their home or their local community.
• You will not be asked to administer medication or deliver personal care in this role.

Who am I responsible for?

• You are responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the child or young person you are linked with.
• All links are risk-assessed and carefully monitored by your Co-ordinator.

Who am I responsible to?

The parent/carer.

• You must ensure that the parent / carer’s reasonable instructions and guidance regarding the welfare of their child are adhered to and that clear communication is maintained.
• Feedback must be given to the parent/carer following a visit.

How often will I be needed?

• We typically ask for volunteers to commit to 2-4 hours a week

• We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months to ensure the child and their family are able to benefit fully from the relationship.
