THE ROLE

This role offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to lead National Energy Action’s efforts to improve the lives of those experiencing fuel poverty, with a focus on enhancing building fabric and energy systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the organisation’s expertise and credibility in this area and will be a passionate advocate for energy efficiency as a vital solution to fuel poverty.

As our new Director of Homes, you will lead our engagement with governments, industry partners, consumer protection bodies, and research organisations to highlight the needs, opportunities, and challenges faced by fuel-poor households.

You will be a member of National Energy Action’s Senior Management Team, helping to shape the strategic direction of the charity. You will lead and support a dedicated team, managing innovative projects designed to deliver meaningful impact.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will oversee the development and delivery of high-profile demonstration projects and ensure that insights and evidence from this work are widely shared. You will also lead our influencing efforts, working with key stakeholders and policymakers to drive lasting change.

As part of our Senior Leadership Team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across the organisation to help guide National Energy Action into the future.

The Finance & HR Lead

We are looking for a Finance & HR Lead to take charge of the financial health of our charity by administering a high quality and effective financial management service to The OutHouse. The OutHouse is going through a period of change and we need a finance practitioner who is able to support the organisation in its financial management. You will also have oversight of our HR function. This is a busy role within a small team that is looking to make a huge difference within our community. If you have a proven track record in financial planning and HR management, can manage multiple priorities and work within time sensitive situations, we encourage you to apply.

You will work closely with, the CEO, Operations Change Manager, the Team and the Treasurer to ensure that all data are recorded accordingly and in a timely manner.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

As Finance & HR Lead, your key activities and responsibilities will be to:

Finance Responsibilities

• Provide a high quality and effective financial management service to The OutHouse.
• Prepare, develop and analyse finance and accounting information, including income and expenditure processing, ensuring information is timely precise, clear, informative and understood
• Keep good quality accounting records for our charity by preparing annual accounts and maintaining up to date records on our accountancy and book-keeping systems (making any recommendations for improvement as necessary)
• Work with the CEO and Operations Change Manager to ensure efficient financial management and planning systems, ensure financial reports effectively inform business development and fundraising strategies and that the organisation demonstrates value for money across all activities and services
• Prepare information for our Funders on funded projects expenditure and work with the SLT to present this in a meaningful way
• Attend Trustee meetings as required to provide information and analysis ensuring partnership with CEO and board Treasurer to allow for easier financial decisions
• Ensure financial information supplied to management and the board is full and accurate so as to support sound decision making
• Ensure compliance and proactively highlight potential risk with relevant financial statutory and regulatory matters
• Identify and manage risks and contribute to the risk register on financial matters and wider decision making when appropriate
• Keep up to date with financial developments across the sector and changes in requirements for charity reporting and legislation
• Make sure financial reporting complies with relevant legal requirements
• Maintain and monitor internal policy documents and procedures and make recommendations on best practice and good governance
• Liaise with and maintain a good working relationship with our CEO, colleagues and trustees, Treasurer as well as stakeholders and key operational contacts such as bankers, auditors and funders
• Lead and implement monthly payroll using Xero
• Line management of the charity Administrator

Experience

Are you an experienced project manager who is passionate about climate action? 

At Community First Yorkshire, we will be delivering a three-year National Lottery funded partnership programme designed to inspire and empower communities and the VCSE sector to take meaningful climate action. We need someone to lead on this exciting, collaborative initiative, shaping a greener, more sustainable future for North Yorkshire.

What you’ll be doing 

In this role, you’ll be leading of team of four, including two Climate Action Officers, an Impact Communications Officer and a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. You’ll use your project management skills to co-ordinate and implement the Village Green programme, overseeing the delivery of activities, finances, marketing material and monitoring and evaluation work. You will work closely with our programme partners to maintain strong governance and build connections with our wider stakeholders to amplify the impact of climate action efforts.
Part of your role will be overseeing the co-design elements of the programme, ensuring community engagement is inclusive, impactful and innovative. You’ll also support with the wider VCSE sector in North Yorkshire, offering guidance on climate action initiatives and commissioning external expertise to deliver key elements of the programme.

We are seeking candidates with all-round excellent project management skills, who can lead a team whilst overseeing the core elements of the programme. Ideally, you’ll understand climate issues and have a commitment to advancing sustainability efforts. You’ll have experience of monitoring, evaluation, and stakeholder collaboration, working with funders to share valuable insights.

At Evolve Counselling CIO, our mission is professional, accredited mental health talking therapies - at low cost or no-cost - for those who need them most.

Working with adults as private individuals, or through employee wellbeing and assistance schemes, we offer hundreds of remote or face-to-face sessions every month – and demand is growing.

Evolve is growing too. A charitable CIO, we have ambitious plans to extend beyond our Cambridgeshire base, and to find new and better ways to deliver the very best in mental health support for our clients.

The new Business Development lead is crucial to the long-term success and impact of Evolve Counselling.

You will be securing new and existing professional mental health counselling contracts with a range of commercial clients, increasing our engagement with private individuals - either referred to us or independently seeking the best counselling, plus sourcing charitable grants and sponsorships to support our ‘low-cost or no-cost’ ambitions, and building voluntary sector partnerships to further our work.

A good background in charitable fundraising and development, or solid commercial new business/sales management experience, is essential.

This is a part-time role, remote working, but with a requirement to be able to attend frequent on-site meetings concentrated upon Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and Northamptonshire - as well as across the wider UK.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Women Transport Workers and Gender Equality Officer will play a fundamental role in leading and developing strategies on organising and increasing collective bargaining and leverage for women transport workers, on behalf of the ITF. 

At the direction of the General Secretary and Executive Board, the Women Transport Workers and Gender Equality Officer will be responsible for leading the ITF’s Gender and Equality Programme. The role will be focused on developing leading campaign strategies to organise women workers and increase the capacity of our affiliates in this area. It will strategically engage with ITF affiliates, donor organisations and other relevant stakeholders to deliver projects globally, which includes managing relationships with multinationals to improve the state of gender and equality matters across transport supply chains.

This role will have accountability for the management of relevant staff of the Women’s Department, as well as budgeting and planning for all development initiatives. 

ABOUT YOU 

The mission and values of the ITF are of utmost importance and as such, the successful candidate for this role must hold high ethical standards, displaying diligence and integrity when representing the organisation. 

We are looking for a purpose-driven individual with significant experience of effective leadership at a senior management level, including developing and leading on the successful implementation of key organisational strategies within a national or global trade union, or in a social movements context related to Gender and Equality. This person must be able to demonstrate strategic thinking and have excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

The role requires an excellent communicator who has the ability to work effectively to engage and motivate others towards change for women in the transport industry. It also needs someone who can effectively build relationships, as well as display strong collaborative and influencing skills. 

The Women Transport Workers and Gender Equality Officer will be expected to undertake regular international travel and must be able to work flexibly including during out of office hours.

Salary: up to £32,445 per annum  

Location: Newark- Hybrid working with regular travel to other places of work including Wales.

About You  

Do you want to help to develop and implement a ground-breaking programme to restore temperate rainforest across the west of the UK? Are you passionate about systematically collecting, analysing and communicating data to support the delivery of nature’s recovery? We are looking for an organised and collaborative monitoring officer to help us implement one of the largest nature-based solutions programmes to date. We need you to help us to tackle the climate change and nature crises. 

You will work with other members of the Temperate Rainforest Programme Team to develop and implement a bespoke monitoring programme to systematically capture and communicate data that will enable us to measure and demonstrate the impact of The Wildlife Trusts’ UK Temperate Rainforest Programme – on biodiversity, climate change mitigation and adaptation, local communities and the economy as well as supporting monitoring on other landscape scale initiatives. 

We are looking for a technical specialist who understands and cares about the positive contribution that large scale woodland creation can make to nature’s recovery and to efforts to reduce and adapt to climate change. This role will implement and support monitoring arrangements for The Wildlife Trusts’ UK Temperate Rainforest programme and at the Wildlife Trusts’ Rothbury Estate in Northumberland. You will be organised and motivated with excellent analytical and project delivery skills, including an understanding of different ecological, social and land-management monitoring approaches, as well as an interest in evidence relating to woodlands, biodiversity and climate change adaptation. Key to this role will be familiarity with the collection, processing and storage of ecological data and the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in its analysis, sharing and communication.

As our Research Manager, you won’t just be producing reports – you’ll be leading the charge in uncovering the real experiences of unpaid carers and identifying practical, transformative solutions to support them. • Lead new research that explores the complexities of unpaid care, from the day-to-day realities carers face to the systems and services intended to support them.

• Work directly with carers and the organisations that serve them, ensuring our research is grounded, participatory, and genuinely reflective of real lives.

• Bridge the gap between academia, policy, and practice, using both rigorous academic methods and agile, think tank-style approaches to drive timely and impactful outputs.

• Shape the national conversation by presenting evidence to decision-makers, influencing policy debates, and helping Carers Trust lead the sector in what works – and what needs to change.

• Embed an evidence-driven culture across Carers Trust, working with colleagues across teams UK-wide to ensure insight guides everything we do.
