The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.

Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.

You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic and determined, but you also need to be invested in our mission as a charity and care about people.

This role is about;

• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);

• being responsible for networking, identifying, and establishing partnerships with key individuals and organisations and nurturing existing relationships;

• developing and rolling out strategies to engage with hard-to-reach and isolated military carers and families;

• coordinating a range of activities (mainly online) to deliver information to Members, potential Members, referrers, and other stakeholders. These will include online talks from staff, Members and other “subject matter experts”; and

• helping to ensure the charity continues to understand the developing needs of its Members.

Although the role is home-based, you will not be working in isolation; you will be supported by the managers and workforce.

All our staff are home-based, and we maintain a strong caring culture of teamwork, mutual support and promoting wellbeing at work.

You may be exposed to traumatic narratives from our Membership, for many this is a reality in their lives. We do provide an extensive framework of clinical and managerial support but you do need to be an emotionally and psychologically resilient individual.

About Pancreatic Cancer Action:

Pancreatic Cancer Action (PCA) was founded in 2010 by a rare survivor of the disease. We are a small, creative and passionate team committed to improving early diagnosis and saving lives. In August 2020, Pancreatic Cancer Action merged with Pancreatic Cancer Scotland making our team stronger than ever. 

Pancreatic cancer has only a 7% survival rate and this figure has not improved significantly for over 50 years. Despite it being the 5th biggest cancer killer in the UK, pancreatic cancer receives only 3% of overall research funding. 

With a strong focus on early diagnosis, it is Pancreatic Cancer Action’s aim to improve survival rates through raising awareness, medical education, improved patient information and by funding research specifically into the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Simply put, we want more people diagnosed in time for surgery, currently the only potential for a cure.

Main responsibilities:  

• Develop and grow the annual programme of fundraising events such as the London Marathon and Great North Run.
• Grow and steward a pipeline of new and existing community and events audiences and fundraising opportunities with a particular focus on England. Ensuring to always maintain the highest quality supporter journey.
• Manage the delivery of the virtual challenge events. Add insight and support the annual Pancreatic Awareness Month Campaign and help to further develop Pyjama’s for Pan Can to new audiences.
• As a senior member of the Income Generation Team you will contribute to robust financial planning, management and reporting of income and expenditure in your own areas of expertise.
• Responsible for the delivery and recruitment into PCA’s Challenge Events programme making sure participants receive exceptional supporter care.
• Develop compelling and engaging third party fundraising materials to inspire supporters to reach their maximum fundraising targets.

Experience

• Proven track record in leading fundraising and delivering income growth within a similar sized organization.

About the role

This new role within the newly formed Brand and Marketing Communications team will play a key role in our in-house creative studio, creating engaging and inspiring content. Sepsis is the immune system’s overreaction to an infection or injury. There are over 245,000 cases each year in the UK with approximately 48,000 deaths. UKST aims to reduce preventable deaths from this ‘killer’ condition. We achieve this by:

· Raising awareness

· Supporting those affected by sepsis

· Educating health professionals

· Lobbying political organisations for better sepsis and severe infection care

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver supporter journeys i.e. fundraising resources and stewardship communications to maximise supporter numbers, retention and engagement.

2. Use UKST’s CRM system (Raiser’s Edge) to accurately capture fundraiser information and key data contributing to the improved development and implementation of fundraising processes.

About the role

This is an exciting senior role for an environmentally committed leader to cover maternity leave. We are looking for someone who can take strategic oversight of our Green Space for Health programme and provide effective management of the project and its staff.

Our Green Space for Health programme helps to realise the value of green space for physical and mental health, both at healthcare sites and in the wider community. Our flagship project, the NHS Forest, promotes tree planting and woodland creation at NHS sites, supporting and encouraging sites to plant and maintain trees through offering free trees and advice. We support NHS sites to develop their greenspace for the benefits of patients, health staff and communities, while improving biodiversity and combatting climate change. We do this by encouraging green space enhancements such as meadow areas, vegetable growing, orchards and therapeutic gardens, as well as supporting the delivery of nature-based interventions for health.

The Green Space for Health Director will oversee the development of the NHS Forest and other Green Space for Health projects, delivering the programme strategy. This will include managing the Green Space for Health team, overseeing the delivery of our funded projects including budget management, coordinating reports to funders and trustees, and taking a strategic lead on the development and funding of the Green Space for Health programme in consultation with other stakeholders. The Green Space for Health Director will deliver our programme strategy through fulfilling the following responsibilities:

• Provide line management for the Green Space for Health Team’s 5 staff members. This will include one-to-one meetings, appraisals and regular team meetings.
• Oversee the delivery of the Green Space for Health funded projects, including NHS Forest tree planting projects and our Nature Recovery Ranger programme.
• Raise income for, monitor and oversee the programme budget in consultation with CSH’s fundraising and finance team.
• Coordinate reporting on the programme, including liaising with funders and producing reports for funders and for CSH’s board of trustees.
• Oversee the development and delivery of Green Space for Health training course, working with Green Space for Health staff and with administrative and strategic support from CSH’s education team.
• Work with the team to coordinate the NHS Forest Advisory Group.
• Build partnerships that will further the development of the programme and contribute to fundraising in line with the programme objectives.
• Act as a spokesperson for the programme, including making presentations, responding to media requests and participating in relevant national policy fora, including for the purposes of wider policy development.
• Be an active member of CSH’s senior management team, helping to develop CSH as an organisation, including strategy, employment and oversight.

Role Summary

The Resources Coordinator role sits within the learning content creation team, which is responsible for the devising, commissioning and delivering of high quality, film-focused learning opportunities. These include the production of resources and online courses for teachers and their learners which are made available on our website, Into Film+ (our video-on-demand platform) and on our learning platform. 

Main Responsibilities 

• To produce high quality, exciting and engaging resources for educators and young people, including commercial resources for film industry clients. 
• To contribute to the planning and evaluation of resources within our three key areas of work: Teaching with Film, Careers and Progression, and Filmmaking
• To project manage the resource process from initiation to publication or delivery.
• To assist the corporate partnerships team by contributing to pitches for educational resources with partners to support new film releases. 
• To contribute to the development of courses aimed at educators via our online learning platform.
• To evaluate resources, training, online materials and related areas of organisational interest through surveys, focus groups and other methods, to identify and implement changes and programme developments that meet Into Film’s and our audiences’ needs and priorities.
• To develop, with the rest of the team, reliable quality assurance processes and documentation for our resources, training and online programmes.
• To carry out external and internal training to a range of staff and stakeholders, including supporting internal staff with advice and information.
• To assist the resources and training leads in collaborating with external organisations and individuals to create resources and training materials.
• To develop and maintain good working relationships across the organisation and provide training, educational insight and administrative support.
• To attend meetings across Into Film and with external partners to provide resource and training guidance covering all areas of our work.
• To complete administrative tasks including supporting educators, uploading resources to our website and assisting with reporting on resources to stakeholders. 
• Copywriting, consultancy and research for Into Film News and Views and other marketing content. 
• To develop and contribute to the planning and filming of video content for resources or courses.
• To support staff across the four UK nations with resource production.

Person Specification

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of two years’ experience of teaching in the UK.
• Experience of creating resources which include moving image/film.
• Knowledge of the educational landscape across all four UK nations.
• Demonstrable creativity and commitment to making resources and training interesting and exciting for teachers/educators and students/young people.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to write accurately and correctly, and the ability to persuade and influence others and feedback ideas in a professional manner. 
• Experience of chairing and guiding meetings.
• Experience of managing a range of projects, from initiation to completion, working with a range of stakeholders. 
• Demonstrable understanding of monitoring and evaluation.
• Commitment to film as a powerful tool for education, both as a cultural art form and to engage young people and raise attainment.
• Current knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Desirable

• Experience in creating resources or opportunities which support young people’s careers education.
• Experience of filmmaking with young people.
• Experience of training teachers or other professionals.
• A love and knowledge of film.
